Obama is already attempting to sign away US sovereignty over to the UN, and will make this nation subject to UN law or lack thereof. With no human rights in place for homosexuals, and in light of the fact that the Constitution of the USA has been overrode time and again under the pretext of keeping us safe from terrorists thereby stripping away our liberty, there is nothing to stop this corporate-owned government from jailing and executing citizens of the US for the crime of being homosexual.

Killing ANY human being - a gay, lesbian, or unborn child is wrong. Any life is to be respected and cherished. No, the passing of a resolution by the General Assembly does not suddenly void the existing human rights treaties. A resolution is non-binding. What matters is what the UN Treaty Monitoring Bodies say, in this case the Human Rights Committee and maybe also the Committees on Elimination of Discrimination against women (CEDAW) and possibly also the committee against torture (CAT). These are the relevant human rights bodies, not the General Assembly.
@dasGagaTier Well it's a little more complicated than that. Basically once you rule LGBT out and leave "them" in the greay area, there will be no "justification" to include such acts in fact finding missions and special UN reports. Actually that's the point behind this entire move.
I'm not saying it has no impact at all, however, I is not annulling the basic human rights treaties. Regarding fact-finding missions, treaty bodies don't do any, so you may be referring to special rapporteurs. They are usually quite independent-minded and set their own agendas.
Anyway, what I wanted to say, it is just wrong to put it as "UN says it's o.k. to kill gays". I concede that there are serious problems with the UN, but without it we would be far worse off.

I would have been more impressed had you made the video state support ALL HUMAN RIGHTS. Until we stop separating out "communities" this will continue. Two things: In my mind, though, I still can't escape the thought that a human being would be destroyed if an abortion took place. But nowadays, they have something called the "morning after" pill - so, perhaps that could be administered immediately after a rape to prevent a full pregnancy from occurring.

What I think, though, is that education about birth control is what is necessary. Christians ARE more like Muslims... Christians, Muslims, and Jews all derive from the same source and are all Abrahamic religions. The god of Abraham is the same god in each, and between them then are only tribal differences.
Sharia law includes the EXACT SAME prescription for death by stoning as appears in both the Torah and the Christian Bible because they all share the same origins and are all the same religion as practiced by separate tribes.

No, the passing of a resolution by the General Assembly does not suddenly void the existing human rights treaties. A resolution is non-binding. What matters is what the UN Treaty Monitoring Bodies say, in this case the Human Rights Committee and maybe also the Committees on Elimination of Discrimination against women (CEDAW) and possibly also the committee against torture (CAT). These are the relevant human rights bodies, not the General Assembly.

I'm not saying it has no impact at all, however, I is not annulling the basic human rights treaties. Regarding fact-finding missions, treaty bodies don't do any, so you may be referring to special rapporteurs. They are usually quite independent-minded and set their own agendas.
Anyway, what I wanted to say, it is just wrong to put it as "UN says it's o.k. to kill gays". I concede that there are serious problems with the UN, but without it we would be far worse off.

I would have been more impressed had you made the video state support ALL HUMAN RIGHTS. Until we stop separating out "communities" this will continue. @NathanWubs I do feel that rape is a terrible crime. And I too feel that if a pregnancy results from that then it is definitely something that is forced on the woman against her will. Two things: In my mind, though, I still can't escape the thought that a human being would be destroyed if an abortion took place. But nowadays, they have something called the "morning after" pill - so, perhaps that could be administered immediately after a rape to prevent a full pregnancy from occurring.

Is she obligated to take care of a kid that she really cannot take care of in the first place? What I think, though, is that education about birth control is what is necessary. I know of a girl in our community who has already had one abortion - she didn't like the father of the baby so she killed it. And now, she is with another guy, and she is PREGNANT AGAIN !!! She is stupid. So no, I do not condone ongoing killing of babies due to stupid teen girls

Christians ARE more like Muslims... Christians, Muslims, and Jews all derive from the same source and are all Abrahamic religions. The god of Abraham is the same god in each, and between them then are only tribal differences.
Sharia law includes the EXACT SAME prescription for death by stoning as appears in both the Torah and the Christian Bible because they all share the same origins and are all the same religion as practiced by separate tribes.
