If i can find somewhere one i will try one . I don´t think mullen skates a small board. He skated 9 inch to 8.5 in the early 90 so i think a 8.0 is a small board for him but i don´t know...
Well that hollow is made by removing 3 layers of veneer to house the strip. The strip itself is literally foam. I scraped it with my fingernail and I removed a considerable amount of uber light.
I figured out what makes these boards structurally inferior to regular boards. In the middle if the board, there is a truck to truck hollow where the carbon fiber strip rests.
Today, I did a flat ground front pop shuv.... And the nose snapped. And not snapped like the tail came off. It snapped like the canyon continued and the board split in half lengthwise. What the fuck is up with that eh?
On here's my experience with the super uber light v3. Got it Christmas, and it got this heinous truck to truck, topside crack( more like canyon) from a heelflip down a curb.
I can do shuvits once in a while and I'm trying to ollie now, I saw a rail for in a sale70€, which looks really cheap compared to 150€ element similar rails.
Should I buy the rail after I learn how to ollie? (the rail is a zero switchblade I think) :)
Heya homie... stoked to meet a newer skater! Sickness!
I'm a really huge fan of flatbars (I have a few videos dedicated to them in this channel). One thing I don't really like are hinged rails or rails that can be taken apart in the center (I have one like that). This is personal preference, but I'd aim for a rail that can't be split in half... one solid grind. Just my personal take. Cheers man!
By the way, I have a question, ollies seem a little scary on flatground, becouse the place I skate isn't a "concrete one" and if I fall, I will bleed a lot!
Is there any way for me to practice my ollies without falling?
Not in my experience my friend... in fact, I'd say that falling down is one of the most important things in skating. If it were easy, everyone would skate! The occasional injury is how we as skaters "pay our dues!"
...true, they are in regular production now, but at the time of this video there were only 500 in total (still beta) as were the trucks (the trucks weren't on the market at the time). The stuff was sent over by Steve Douglas at Dwindle Dist. while they were doing some experiments/field tests/etc.
I wouldn't say it breaks "easy," but in my limited experience it will break about the same as a regular deck under the same type of abuse you might normally put a board through. It's an interesting deck, but I really don't consider it a game changer (at least for the type of skating I do)... and the *average* cost (I hear there are deals on them here and there) of $100 USD is pretty steep... I don't think the cost = the worth, but that's just me!
...ha, yeah, our shop is called Small Time Skates, and when this vid was made a really kooky non-skater guy opened up a shop three blocks from ours called "Go Big."
Go Big's gone, Small Times' remains! Skaters win!
AH, I need to update that info... when the Uber was first released, the first batch was 500... since the taping of this they went into mass production. Cheers!
See how it says "review," and it comes in parts? Out of over 100,000 people that have seen this, you were the one retarded little snowflake that had to say something stupid. No biggy, I'll just block you so you don't have to be bothered by any more of my vids.

I prefer Thunder, Indy, Venture, Theeve, Ace, and maybe a couple more since they have a more traditional style of turning and carving- actually, the Tensors don't carve by design- they're made to force the board into a head-on straight position, so it's almost like a fight to turn (again, my personal experience).
As a longboarder, I think you'd probably enjoy the other trucks listed because of the turn/carve.
It funny how people are going crazy over this board, about a good 10 years ago black Label had a board like this, and it's claim was super light and would never break.
Ha, I have a few years on me as well! I think that Label board you're referring to *might* be the Powerbeam... one thin ply on top and bottom, then one really thick ply between them. Back when Kristian rode for 'em.
have you ever skated an element helium feather light board dude i have one u would like it its pretty technical its got hollow chanbers in the wood yet its still strong as hell my setup on it is thunder lights bones super reds bones wheels and of corse mob grip check it out let me no wat u think look at my channel ill do a review on it
hey grim im a big fan of your reviews and i was just wondering if u could do a review maybe on thunder trucks becouse im looking for new trucks and im kinda on a budget so i kinda wanna know if theyl be worth the money
Hey gangster... your timing could NOT be any better! I still have to complete and edit a review on a board right now, but I just so happen to have picked up virtually every type of Thunder made: Hollow Lights (which are on my personal board), a set of regular Thunders, and a set of Thunder Titanium Lights... I'm actually switching over my trucks from Indy to Thunder (for a while or longer) and plan on getting really geeky about them once they're all broken in- (cont)...
@grimcity bro thanks for the info.. becouse im 13 and its kinda hard to make money sence im not old enuff for a job so i kinda wanna know if im getting my moneys worth u know man?
...I do like Thunder a LOT... I've also had a set of Jamie Thomas' pro models on my cruiser (Krooked Zig Zagger) for a couple of years. They're really impressive, but I'll go into much more detail later on man! Thanks a lot for the good words homie! Later skater!
They didn't stop producing plastic-insert Tensors. As I mentioned in the vid, Steve Douglas informed me as to why... I was just relaying what he said.
if u get phamtom tucks the bushing last forever when ever i get new trucks i just put the bushing in and they feel broken in ive been skateing the same ons for one year
Check my comments in the end of part three of the review... for me, $100 is a lot to spend on a regular deck for half or less of that price... but maybe some people more sensitive to their board than me might like it better. It's a good deck, but it's value will be based on your experience with it, if that makes any sense. Cheers homie!
what a waste of money, if i want a light skateboard i would go to a skate shop and ask for one. rather than spend hundreds of dollars on one that just has a brown deck with some black writing on it.
so yay or nay on getting one becuz my last board broke on the inside like the top two layers within two days and i tried the double impact and i liked it very much but it was too heavy and too narrow i ride like a 7.75 and it was a 7.6 i think.. im thinkin of tryin another almost but let me know if its worth the money
One thing you might be stoked on is that the board was limited edition when I tested it (there were only 500 in the first release). They fully produce these and you shouldn't have a problem finding one now.
I was just about to buy this deck because I'm interested in the newer technology available and I usually ride blanks. I ended up buying one of the new flips since the uber light was too thin for my indies. I typically ride a 7.75, but the uber light only came in one size that was a lot smaller. My flip doesn't have any noticeable advantage, so I may still try the uber light next. I wasn't aware that they were limited edition. I wish I'd have seen this review before getting the flip. Thanks for
wast of money on this board!! 120 bucks just for the board! i bought my whole complete for less than that. tensors are a big waste of money to. they break fast and turn like shit. plus i ride 8.5 so they dont make that size. thunders are the best for your money.
I bought a set of tensor magnesium mid lights and holy crap was I ever disappointed.
The main problem I had was that I ride tight trucks and they just dont tighten. it gets to a point where you can't tighten them anymore and the bushings fail fail to rebound properly leaving your truck tilted to one side or the other.
never buying tensors again, Im goin to go out and buy another set of krux simply because they work right out of the box... and are cheaper
@matixxx Funny thing, I ride a bit looser, and still could not manage to get them to dial in correctly (for me) before they broke. I can vouch for Krux... rode several setrs and enjoyed them.
@matias7anriquez Thanks for the comment, I just thought Id get my opinion in on lightweight trucks. Just as some trucks can be too heavy, some trucks can be too light.
I found the tensor mags were so light it was hard to leverage the weight of the board to get adequate pop for my tricks.
Maybe i just needed to get used to them but I didnt have the patience to re learn how to skate!
@matixxx yea i got the magnesium tensors and i set athem up and i was like i really like them then i started grind ing them and the king pin sticks out alot and dosent grind good
Grim, thank you for putting up a well thought out and thorough review. The majority of "skateboarding" videos on youtube are filled with BS stories and opinions, and no real fact. I am glad to see you went out of your way and did a quality job. I wish the rest of the skateboarding vids on youtube were this good. Well, again, I appreciate the time and effort that went in to this, and I hope to see many more vids like this in the future.
I like my trucks tight easier to flip as for the board I think that will work for me know I gatta find one and I know they only made a few -_- good review dude

The local skateshop near me got lucky enuff to get 1 Of these UberLights, sadly someone baught it, the guy tht works there payed 100 and the buyer got for 70, they give good ass deals down here where i live
@vkonovsskateordie ...just getting past the point of them being "new" until they feel natural to you. With trucks, breaking them in usually refers to putting in a slight amount of wear on the bushings... when broke in, they turn less stiffly, more naturally, etx.
great review, nice use of accurate and descriptive terminology. i have never been able to ride the stock bushings that come with any trucks because they are always too soft. Its a bloody nightmare. I end up buying hard bushings and working them in after an arduously long and frustrating week or so of tinkering and adjustments. cheers from san diego
@jeremyshambles Thanks Jeremy! I'm the same way about bushings... I'm testing some out now for a review, but I typically replace my stocks with Bones because they have the same ride every time... at least it feel that way. If I do ride stock on new trucks, it takes EONS to get them dialed in right... probably the only thing on a board that I don't like riding new. Cheers back at you from Hammond, Louisiana man!
damn thats an f*cking nice board :O i cant believe only 500 were made =[ i doubt i'll be able to get one now unless someone's selling it on ebay. make more reviews cos its very informative (Y)
@kooliofool There were only 500 made at the time of this video... Dwindle does mass produce these now, this is when the board was in beta, and before the trucks were completely out of development (about a month or two before the trucks went into shops). Working on more reviews constantly! Cheers koolio!
I'm not a big fan of Tensor, but at the same time I know people that love them. I can say that for a more traditional truck, Krux would be closer to other trucks you may have had in the past. Cheers!

i switched out my friends bushings in his tensor mags and he LOVED them if you get some bones bushings your set for a good pair of trucks
Vansskater39 1 year ago
i think the deck is too light
maddin9695 1 year ago
wast of money on this board!! 120 bucks just for the board! i bought my whole complete for less than that. tensors are a big waste of money to. they break fast and turn like shit. plus i ride 8.5 so they dont make that size. thunders are the best for your money.
alecxg 1 year ago
I bought a set of tensor magnesium mid lights and holy crap was I ever disappointed.
The main problem I had was that I ride tight trucks and they just dont tighten. it gets to a point where you can't tighten them anymore and the bushings fail fail to rebound properly leaving your truck tilted to one side or the other.
never buying tensors again, Im goin to go out and buy another set of krux simply because they work right out of the box... and are cheaper
matixxx 1 year ago
@matixxx Funny thing, I ride a bit looser, and still could not manage to get them to dial in correctly (for me) before they broke. I can vouch for Krux... rode several setrs and enjoyed them.
grimcity 1 year ago
@matixxx
hi bro, i get the magnesium slider trucks (mullen) and they just work amazing with my board.
they are really much more lighter than any other truck i've ever try, and believe me, they worth every $ of them.
anyways, still truth that tensor its kind of a "new" brand in comparisson with destructo, independent etc etc
matias7anriquez 1 year ago
@matias7anriquez Thanks for the comment, I just thought Id get my opinion in on lightweight trucks. Just as some trucks can be too heavy, some trucks can be too light.
I found the tensor mags were so light it was hard to leverage the weight of the board to get adequate pop for my tricks.
Maybe i just needed to get used to them but I didnt have the patience to re learn how to skate!
matixxx 1 year ago
@matixxx
hahaha allight, i get ya ;)
matias7anriquez 1 year ago
@matixxx yea i got the magnesium tensors and i set athem up and i was like i really like them then i started grind ing them and the king pin sticks out alot and dosent grind good

skatenblade97 1 year ago
@skatenblade97 Not with Tensors. I do ride looser trucks... Tensors just don't carve. See part two.

@grimcity ive got sum older tensors and they carve great

Grim, thank you for putting up a well thought out and thorough review. The majority of "skateboarding" videos on youtube are filled with BS stories and opinions, and no real fact. I am glad to see you went out of your way and did a quality job. I wish the rest of the skateboarding vids on youtube were this good. Well, again, I appreciate the time and effort that went in to this, and I hope to see many more vids like this in the future.

what do u mean by braking in the trucks?
vkonovsskateordie 1 year ago
@vkonovsskateordie ...just getting past the point of them being "new" until they feel natural to you. With trucks, breaking them in usually refers to putting in a slight amount of wear on the bushings... when broke in, they turn less stiffly, more naturally, etx.
grimcity 1 year ago
@vkonovsskateordie he means just getting them loose, they might ride a little weird before you use them a few times
danpul23 1 year ago
@vkonovsskateordie The bushings get softer after awhile

watch my tensor magnesium review pt.1
inahtap 1 year ago
great review, nice use of accurate and descriptive terminology. i have never been able to ride the stock bushings that come with any trucks because they are always too soft. Its a bloody nightmare. I end up buying hard bushings and working them in after an arduously long and frustrating week or so of tinkering and adjustments. cheers from san diego
jeremyshambles 1 year ago
@jeremyshambles Thanks Jeremy! I'm the same way about bushings... I'm testing some out now for a review, but I typically replace my stocks with Bones because they have the same ride every time... at least it feel that way. If I do ride stock on new trucks, it takes EONS to get them dialed in right... probably the only thing on a board that I don't like riding new. Cheers back at you from Hammond, Louisiana man!
grimcity 1 year ago
damn thats an f*cking nice board :O i cant believe only 500 were made =[ i doubt i'll be able to get one now unless someone's selling it on ebay. make more reviews cos its very informative (Y)
kooliofool 1 year ago
@kooliofool There were only 500 made at the time of this video... Dwindle does mass produce these now, this is when the board was in beta, and before the trucks were completely out of development (about a month or two before the trucks went into shops). Working on more reviews constantly! Cheers koolio!
grimcity 1 year ago
@kooliofool im pretty sure more than 500 maybe of that certain graphic but not that board

im new to skating would u pefer krux or tensor trucks?
ToxicTwinky101 1 year ago
@ToxicTwinky101
I'm not a big fan of Tensor, but at the same time I know people that love them. I can say that for a more traditional truck, Krux would be closer to other trucks you may have had in the past. Cheers!
