  • Great oldie great show

  • Too much middle-aged chest hair.

  • The Jamies were the first I think. It's aways fun. So silly. It lets the teens be ridiculous, something teens need imo.

  • What I find interesting is that their hard rocker Danny always seems to be the fanciest dresser on the show.

  • Besides have such great voices they were funny. Loved their shows. I want them back

  • I wear my Converse shoes in the garden. The kids next door giggle at me as i whistle this song. Yes, i'm 52 and still loving life.

  • I can't stop GRINNING!

  • Best group ever.

  • god I still just adore this performance ☺

  • My 5 year old is sitting next to me singing. I wish they would put this back on tv somewhere. TVLand, VH-1, anything!

  • Great job guys!

  • They sound great. For some reason though when I see Bowser, I keep thinking of Freddy Mercury. I wonder if they would have ever done anything together?

  • You have to love these guys! They obviously loved the music that they were duplicating so well. They are the best, all of them.

  • I've seen armenian men that look like Bowzer.

  • @chipdrusano

    His real name's Jon Bauman.

  • The part where they tell the teacher to zip their lips is the best. More teachers should be told the same. LOL.

  • That was awesome! This song was stuck in my head all day and I got curious to see if anyone besides the Jamies ever covered it. If not for Bowzer's bass, I would have sworn they were just lip-syncing to the original, it was that perfect a cover. Can someone name the other three members appearing here? I'd love to know more about that amazing tenor.

  • Never mind, I figured it out... Bowzer, Santini, Donny, and Johnny. I had to spend the last four hours watching a ton of videos to remember voices and faces I haven't seen in over 30 years. Every single member of the group had incredible talent; they were way more than "just" a comedy act or a cover band.

  • Have to agree, they were amazing! Johnny was always my fav. Bowzer was awesome, too..... the whole group was awesome!

  • great harmony ! great music, I miss the 70s where these guys were on TV and all the other music .

I need a time machine. Oh no.. please don't tell me about (passing away) members ! I hear Lennie retired in year 2000, ten years ago ! ughhh.. time flies..

HELP ! I want to go back... (to the ISLAND of Rock and Roll !)

  • yahahaha, yay!

    it's summertime!

  • My sis sent email asking where were the utube so I sent her abunch of sha na na today(NORM)

  • Thanks Faerydancer for posting this & other SNN videos! I discovered SNN back in 1969/1970 when I was a teenager. I loved their TV show in the late 70's. These guys ROCK!!!!

I wish their TV was back on as there's not much on TV anymore; too many "reality" shows that are so unreal it's not funny!

  • Hey Y'all: "R.I.P. 'SNN-TV-Series Alumni... 'Dirty-Dan McBride, You'll Be Truly Missed!!"

  • That canned whistle you heard on practically every TV variety show back then, even The Krofft Superstar Hour with The Bay City Rollers [naturally]!!

  • I love the canned whistling at the start. I've heard that one before!

  • today is all black rap crap, anti white anti police garbage.Shameful.

  • What year was this, and why isn't anything this cool on TV anymore?

  • Does anyone know where I can find Donny singing "Rock 'n' Roll of Fame," in which he also wrote?

  • OMG if you ever get it pass it along. I would beg, borrow, steal or anything to get him singing..♥

  • If I do come across it, I will definitely put it up.

  • It is now on youtube.

  • That song is on youtube somewhere, I downloaded it. If you don't find it email me and I will try to upload it.

  • Who is the guy in the pink jacket playing guitar? Where is he now?

  • that would be "Dirty Dan" McBride. not sure where he is now.

  • Fun song and very well done! Love Sha Na Na!

  • I have to admit I loved everything these guys ever did (Grease For Peace Forever!) bu I LOVE this version of Summertime. Faerydancer, you deserve a huge medal for posting these.

  • OH I agree with my sister here. She was the one who found these for me. OMG a HUGE HUGE MEDAL for Faerydancer.☺

    Isn't Donny dreamy???

  • I have always enjoyed the original hit song, but I actually like the blend on this version much better! I could wish that they had recorded it in a studio without the audience reaction, but it is great to hear in any regard ! FANTASTIC!

  • That bass vocalist reminds me of Thurl Ravenscroft.

  • gazoontight, these clips do bring back memories, but ya have to admit that tv couldn't have sustained itself if only this type of show was on, right?

  • I don't know, but I'd sure be happy if this show and shows like it were still on TV. At least I'd have something to watch and I would'nt be afraid to have my kids in the room with me while it was on. I think a lot of people miss just fun, light-hearted, family-friendly TV.

  • I used to watch this show. i loved it. Why can't someone make this kind of show again? Instead of the crap that is on now.

  • LOVE this song!

  • These guys were SO talented and they just don't get the kind of credit they deserve. They all know their videos are on here because they give you links to them on their websites (which is kinda cute). I hope they read these comments sometimes and know how much we all love them!!

  • I totally love Sha Na Na!

  • I love that song, it is so catchy!! I really enjoy watching those clips. Sha Na Na was my favorite show as a teenager. I will be looking forward to more of those.

  • The Jamies recorded the hit verison.

  • This group was fun. I saw them in Concert about 20 years ago. They really can sing like this. Beats the crap out of the stuff without the C.

  • One of the great throw back groups of the last 40 years. What group first recored the song summertime?

  • Wish they were on T.V. again. Maybe Nick at Night will show it! Everybody, write to Night At Night and ask them to put these shows back on!

  • AMEN, jenbanter! If any of the TV "powers that be" saw these posts and how many people want to see these shows again (and they had half a brain) they'd be all over this! Or at least release them on DVD!! Anybody out there have any connections?

  • Thanks for your reply. I would love the DVD also.

  • (Nick At Nite)

  • All in one breath! Wow!

  • Group hug for faerydancer!

  • I love this one, proof positive that these guys could really sing. In a song like this, you cannot afford to be off pitch. They all sound wonderful on this.

  • it's awesome to see so many new clips added. Thanks faerydancer..you're the best!!!

  • this is so great!!!!!
