@ianbang step 4 is wrong. The main idea of the water torture is to make someone go insane. If you do it every 5 seconds, the brain will slowly adapt to it. It should be at different times with different length intervals between each drop. That way, the brain does not know whats next, and will truly go insane. Also, the eyes must be closed.

It works if you do it properly, the drop has to hit the same spot over and over for hours, then the drops will feel as blows from a hammer. It has nothing to do with temperature nor amount, only consistency.

Imagine not being able to sleep for a week because drops of water are hitting your forehead constantly. (It has been proven by mother nature that water droplets can put a dent in a rock if dripped long enough). It hurts you mentally... It doesn't take 30 sec though, more like hrs or days. Plus your tied ddown unable to move and the chair will get soaked in a while, so it will be uncomfortable for a very long time and you can't move.
