Honestly WT sounds a lot better in general than Lacuna Coil, whose music all seems to blend together and every songs sound alike.

@oldwaysmusic it depends on which album are talking about? Shallow Life-agree, it is only good. Earlier stuff is something totally different than WT, but isn't worse for me then WT songs. It's just music with other emotions.You can't compare one of nicest sounding mezzosoprano with the best contralto.

Sharon den Adel is just amazing. She can sing all day, and probably still could go home and shatter crystal as an afterthought.

She's remarkable for her talent, but then there is the fact that she is so incredibly beautiful and charismatic. Warmth and passion flows from her.

Stumbled upon WT vids on youtube about a year ago...upset that I didn't get to enjoy them before, but a HUGE HUGE fan now...moving from Hawaii to California next month...I WILL see them live in the USA even if I have to travel far and wide. As far as comparing them....I don't. WT is great. Evanescence is great. Both can be great folks...no need to tear one down if you like the other. Check out "The Promise" (live) at Rock Werchter...AMAZING...AMAZING.

Don't you think it's rather annoying that people compare bands like Evanescence, Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, Nightwish...

They're all really good bands and you could prefer one over the other...not bash the other bands. Because none of these bands are better than eachtother. It's really what you prefer. There's a difference between criticizing and preferance.

Listen live to Cristina, Sharon, Tarja and after them Amy (acoustic is OK, but after running on the stage...). Everybody of them has beautiful different voice but not everybody is "designed" to singing on the stage. All what I said isn't disagreeing with you, u are right, we should not criticize by stupid way( using: sucks, A is better than B). We should discuss about their gigs, music, style changes

You go Sharon! It's about time we have some female singers singing in the a lower key. That's why I love this song so such because she sings higher and lower ^^ This is my personal opinion but I Evanescence's Amy Lee isn't that good at singing live because today I was watching them on TV live and she was going out of tune. Maybe she had a cold or comething or has been over working her voice, I don't know. But I perfer Within Temptation and think they don't sound the same that much.

There's one part of the instrumental that everyone says is a clone of that beginning of "Cloud Nine" by Evanescence. That's not an instrument. That's Sharon's voice. The part that sounds like the start of "Cloud Nine".
