Because its unbelievable that woman can only be writers, and young men can only like movies and videogames. But then, anybody can understand those. Imagery is a basic sense. And we are all taught spoken language in a utilitarian term. But when we are taught music we dont gain something other than art, music is the only art not based on a language created for utilitarian purposes. Its a language that passes by so easily. We are so few... We need youth.
Classical and academic music seems to be either full of intellectuals or old people. I think that most girls that know of debussy know of him because they heard him in Twilight. Then there are people that like classical but its not like they care about understanding what a a piece is 'made of', because they are in for the 'etiquette', of vanity.
I say modernists shouldnt care about developing theory and widening methods and elements. I say modernists should engage genius with general culture.
It's hard to say what I love the most about Clara Haskil's playing...but I feel especially captivated by her sound...it's as if each of her ten fingers had a life of its own, a kind of incandescence. This is partly what made her Mozart so special, but was evident in everything she played, including the marvellous Bach she is playing here.
This has already received seven positive ratings! What a wonderful testimony to Bach - and to Haskil as his interpreter! There are so many great female pianists to listen to here on YT...but there is something about Haskil which just sets her apart; she is truly a beloved artist!
