I want to let everyone watching this know I forgot the second verse that day :/ and it was a crappy week for me too. Alot of things didn't go the way we wanted to that day lol.
Thanks Matt. I tried very hard to redo the song in Randy's way, but add myself in it. Any tips you could add? As your well aware, I'm always trying to improve.
PS The rooms acoustics sucked lol. Thats one reason it sounded a bit bland at times.
haha yeah acoustics can be an issue. Sometimes what helps is putting the amp at like a 45 degree angle up against a wall or something solid where it won't fall.
As for tips, every time Randy played that song live he added different bits and improvised fills. I'd look up a bunch of videos of him and pick and chose which ones you like, you also, like you said, do it your way, too. That's the great thing about covers is putting your footprint on it. Keep it up!

Another thing is maybe I overdid some of the Sweeps because I know sweeps weren't a huge part of Randy's style, and I thought I try a bit, and I guess I overdid it lol.

It may sound cliche, but whenever I'm infront of a crowd I pretend that I'm in my room (much like how I am in my videos only standing haha) Those sort of nerves shake off in time, though. I do dig how everyone was dressed. That was cool.
Randy wasn't big on sweeps, but they work in this song. Randy did a lot of trills and of course those pinch harmonics in the verse.
