@Fender1976uk Im not really pro tattoo, but I know many justify tattoos with Rev 19:16- And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” In the old testament it is clearly not approved. someone with tattoos told me "my house is a temple of God and these are my stain glass windows" I guess its up to interpretation. I know that the HS has given me conviction when considering a tattoo, so for me thats how I decide.

@TheWoollycat I feel like as children of God, we have the right to ask Him for anything. In James 5, we see that "the prayer of a righteous man is powerful, and effective". You said there's no reason why he should take your depression away, but know that there's no reason why he should die for your sins either... but He did. All we can do as children of God is offer our lives to Him and constantly go to him in prayer over everything that worries us. (Jerem 29:11, phillipians 4:6, Matt. 11:28)
@XxAdbowmanX The Lord is real and loves you more than you could realise. When you want Him, He will be there. I know the voices come, I have a dear friend that hears voices, he finally let Jesus come in and over rule the voices. When Jesus comes He takes over our minds. I have been on meds because of PDST and some times I think He doesn't hear, then He comes and drowns all my fears. I will be praying for you. Remember you are loved.

@XxAdbowmanX Yes, I realise it's my fault but thanks for pointing it out anyway. I have no idea how to 'open my heart'. When I try that I end up with voices in my head that certainly aren't from God. Even the priest has no answers. It seems to me that when God doesn't get in touch it's because God isn't meant for everyone. Not everyone has the capability to 'open up' safely no matter how many worship songs they listen to or prayers they pray or verses they read. Not everyone is a child of God.

I had the same thing happen to me when I was younger. Jesus Christ's name is powerful and His name is above all other names. Pray to Him and He will help you. He loves you so much and has a wonderful plan for your life. God will take care of all your needs.

If you have done this and meant it then you are saved. If you don't have a Bible, you should get one and start reading it daily. Faith comes from reading His Word (the Bible).
Give all your fears, anxiety, doubt, etc. to God. Lay it before Him and He will help you become the person you were created to be. He hears your prayers and will answer them.
@GodsServant05 What does 'Jesus is Lord' mean? I believe he was the son of God, that he died and rose again. I have a Bible and have read it - I even studied theology many years ago. I read it most days at the moment. I even pray. It doesn't stop the devil being closer to me than God. I don't think my brain is capable of doing whatever's necessary. It sounds like you are in a spiritual battle. The devil and demons are attacking you and telling you lies. They don't want you to follow God and they are trying to convince you that you don't have enough faith to be saved. Don't believe them!
@TheWoollycat One of the things that Satan does is he tries to convince believers that they aren't really saved. He is a liar and we are supposed to resist him. When you hear those voices you need to rebuke them in the name of Jesus. Do you have a pastor or friend who can pray over you? There are many books of spiritual warfare that I think would be helpful. Every Christian experiences these attacks. They don't stop when you become saved. We must resist the devil and he will flee from us.
@GodsServant05 I had a priest pray for me - he got me to ask God's forgiveness and then prayed about the devil having no claim on me and anything demonic having no legal grounds to be with me. I just felt scared. It's been worse in the months since then and I can't face him any more, haven't been to church....

@Fender1976uk what he was referring to is in Leviticus-the Jewish laws in the old testament. some radical Jewish religions still practice it, but those were the laws of the Jews back then when God was laying some rules down. the Gentiles did not have to follow this. and man if you really want to take the Bible literally then you shouldn't judge, thats for God to do. but i can see you just wanna argue, if your heart is honestly seeking God then ask, but dont bash others plz, regards :)

Lev 19:27. is this the verse you're referring to? because the verse before it says "Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard."and the verse before that? "Do not eat red meat." so yeah i suppose you could say tattoos are wrong and that we should follow this, but only if we don't shave or eat steak either. The heart of man is for God to judge, not man.

The OT is the history of the Israelites and the NT Jesus said he came to fulfill the law. We aren't bound by the law anymore because of Jesus' death and resurrection. Praise Him!

Well said. I love how people pick and choose which Old-Testament laws they want to follow and apply scriptures like Rom. 12:2 and I Cor. 6:19 in contexts they don't apply to. Christianity is hard enough without people applying the personal convictions to everyone around them.

@TheWoollycat I feel like as children of God, we have the right to ask Him for anything. In James 5, we see that "the prayer of a righteous man is powerful, and effective". You said there's no reason why he should take your depression away, but know that there's no reason why he should die for your sins either... but He did. All we can do as children of God is offer our lives to Him and constantly go to him in prayer over everything that worries us. (Jerem 29:11, phillipians 4:6, Matt. 11:28)

@XxAdbowmanX The Lord is real and loves you more than you could realise. When you want Him, He will be there. I know the voices come, I have a dear friend that hears voices, he finally let Jesus come in and over rule the voices. When Jesus comes He takes over our minds. I have been on meds because of PDST and some times I think He doesn't hear, then He comes and drowns all my fears. I will be praying for you. Remember you are loved.

@XxAdbowmanX Yes, I realise it's my fault but thanks for pointing it out anyway. I have no idea how to 'open my heart'. When I try that I end up with voices in my head that certainly aren't from God. Even the priest has no answers. It seems to me that when God doesn't get in touch it's because God isn't meant for everyone. Not everyone has the capability to 'open up' safely no matter how many worship songs they listen to or prayers they pray or verses they read. Not everyone is a child of God.

@TheWoollycat Have you accepted Jesus as your Savior? When you hear those voices say out loud "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I command you to leave and never return again." I had the same thing happen to me when I was younger. Jesus Christ's name is powerful and His name is above all other names. Pray to Him and He will help you. He loves you so much and has a wonderful plan for your life. God will take care of all your needs.

@TheWoollycat "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." If you have done this and meant it then you are saved. If you don't have a Bible, you should get one and start reading it daily. Faith comes from reading His Word (the Bible).
Give all your fears, anxiety, doubt, etc. to God. Lay it before Him and He will help you become the person you were created to be. He hears your prayers and will answer them.

@GodsServant05 What does 'Jesus is Lord' mean? I believe he was the son of God, that he died and rose again. I have a Bible and have read it - I even studied theology many years ago. I read it most days at the moment. I even pray. It doesn't stop the devil being closer to me than God. I don't think my brain is capable of doing whatever's necessary. That's why I reach the conclusion that not everyone is capabe of faith. I wish it wasn't so. Thankyou anyway.

@TheWoollycat Jesus is Lord means that He is our master. He alone is worthy of our praise and worship. We obey Him because He is God. He is the Messiah and died for us so that we can have eternal life. It means that we follow Him our entire lives.
It sounds like you are in a spiritual battle. The devil and demons are attacking you and telling you lies. They don't want you to follow God and they are trying to convince you that you don't have enough faith to be saved. Don't believe them!

@TheWoollycat One of the things that Satan does is he tries to convince believers that they aren't really saved. He is a liar and we are supposed to resist him. When you hear those voices you need to rebuke them in the name of Jesus. Do you have a pastor or friend who can pray over you? There are many books of spiritual warfare that I think would be helpful. Every Christian experiences these attacks. They don't stop when you become saved. We must resist the devil and he will flee from us.

@GodsServant05 I had a priest pray for me - he got me to ask God's forgiveness and then prayed about the devil having no claim on me and anything demonic having no legal grounds to be with me. I just felt scared. It's been worse in the months since then and I can't face him any more, haven't been to church....

@TheWoollycat Same thing happened to me. I was sitting in church and suddenly started panicking, couldn't breath, couldn't think....FREAKED OUT. We are all free to make our own choices and sometimes we feel powerless and hopeless because we lack patience. Let your problems go, give them to God...take the path less traveled and live with faith, hope, and love. Patience, humility, and selflessness also go a long way. You can't let selfishness, greed, and lust take over...you just can't. Prov 3:5

I have seen Christain youth with my own eyes drift away because they decided to focus on being cool! not everyone is strong minded! some go through phases etc but a Christian leader has to think of those who are weak! a tattoo can plant a seed into thinking about other stuff. think about this, if you go to a tattoo place, there all types of images on the walls! even images of Satan! im not some crazy person here but think about it! your letting the world in

I'm not saying people with Tattoo's are bad! and I'm having a go at rockers etc. I just think when you have a Christian whos in a strong postion, they need to have clean image! an image that doesn't influence a young person into allowing their mind to wonder! first its a tattoo, then its skimpy clothes, maybe smoking! and then drugs?? a Christian should give young people the impression that God is more important to them than fashion, being cool and trendy!! does anyone get it?

I find it funny when you bring up certain subjects and Hillsong fans get all protective over stuff?? forget the old testament for a sec!! the new testament does mention people with marks on their bodys? I say if someone is not completely sure of something, just don't mess with it and tell the world its ok, do we need tattoo's? seriosuly?? the answer is NO! and why would a Christian even have the need for one?

@Fender1976uk what he was referring to is in Leviticus-the Jewish laws in the old testament. some radical Jewish religions still practice it, but those were the laws of the Jews back then when God was laying some rules down. the Gentiles did not have to follow this. and man if you really want to take the Bible literally then you shouldn't judge, thats for God to do. but i can see you just wanna argue, if your heart is honestly seeking God then ask, but dont bash others plz, regards :)

Lev 19:27. is this the verse you're referring to? because the verse before it says "Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard."and the verse before that? "Do not eat red meat." so yeah i suppose you could say tattoos are wrong and that we should follow this, but only if we don't shave or eat steak either. The heart of man is for God to judge, not man.

@Flaminhotpotatochips The Levitical laws were written for the Hebrews, not for the whole world. This is why Christians don't follow them. The OT is the history of the Israelites and the NT Jesus said he came to fulfill the law. We aren't bound by the law anymore because of Jesus' death and resurrection. Praise Him!

@Flaminhotpotatochips the book of levi does not apply now, when djesus died he put us all under his grace that we may sin and be forgiven. tattoos are wrong because Jesus refers on several occations to our bodies being temples, and we don't put graffitti on our churches, so why should we defile our bodies in that way?

@Flaminhotpotatochips That passage was giving rules to the Israelites of that time, those laws dont apply to us, because of the new covenant, same reason its not a sin to be uncircumcised etc... I agree with you on man not to judge people for tattoos etc. but the bible does talk about not conforming to the world and to be set apart, so in my opinion i believe we shouldnt pierce our bodies, and get tattoos, so that we dont identify ourselves with the world, but its not our place to judge its Gods

Well said. I love how people pick and choose which Old-Testament laws they want to follow and apply scriptures like Rom. 12:2 and I Cor. 6:19 in contexts they don't apply to. Christianity is hard enough without people applying the personal convictions to everyone around them.
