@jeronimobraga YES!!! And did you know, they were born one week apart? In the same month...April 1889! Hitler was the demon Goliath...Charlie was the worlds David! Charlie even took on Hiltler in his film "The Great Dictator" a MUST SEE!!!  There was a documentary called {I think} "The Dictator and The Tramp" that compares the two. Thank God for Charlie! Viva Charlie Chaplin!!!!

@quidwitch They may not make to much sense, but this is just another aspect that boosts our interest in these films, it's so different than our idea of the world today that it makes it even more fictitious and wonderful making us imagine the ideals, settings and characters portrayed on the big black&white screen. I've only seen one or two silent films, I'm thinking I may need to expand my viewing. I especially love the exaggerated and comical actions of the all the characters.
