  • This is great! I'm a huge industrial history fan! There are about 50 slope, vertical shaft and surface ore mines on about a 25 mile stretch along red mountain in Birmingham Al. I've followed the history on them for about 2 years now but I've been exploring them for the past 20!

  • @centervilletn LOL! Betcha didn't wear knee pads and helmets either, did ya'? If this had been LA (lower alabama), where I grew up, we wouldn'ta had even shoes on in the summertime.
