First thing I found helpful! That second, double beeping is what did it for me...had it doing like 10 restores from the startup screen freezing on me. Ffs!

Dude u probly had ur ps3 set to hdmi...but ur tv on regular video not hdmi mode..haha man I remember I took my ps3 to my moms house(she doesnt have hdtv n I do)well i connected it to her box tv and screen was black i was scared like a bitch..but then realized oh its not hdtv...ur av settings fix em dude...no need to do all this crap

Hold power button until it turns off, let go, hold it again, it will turn on hold until hear a second beep, after that hold until 2 simultaneous beeps are heard then let go, it will promt u to recovery mode, that's a video problem, ps3 is sending out a video output not supported by ur tv..

LOL that yellow light you are talking about is the hard drive malfunctioning. when it stops lighting up then you know that the hard drive is not thinking any more. there fore get a new hard drive. problem solved.

use AV cable and see if it will transfer video to it. the slims are able to transfer video automatically.

never happen that to me. i had my PS3 SLIM for almost a year now, and here in the philippines the temperature is pretty hot most of the time. it's a pretty dusty here to. iv'e played for more than 12 hours and still my 320 PS3 SLIM runs amazing. no problems at all. i can download and update anytime with no hustle. everything runs smooth. im so lucky to have 320gb PS3 SLIM in my grasp. i hope XBOX 360 will soon find solution to its problem. i also love my XBOX 360.

My ps3 sometimes freezes on a game. When i try the power button it beeps like that. What i do is go to the main plug and switch it off so the red light does not apppear on the ps3. Then turn it back on so it shows again. Try this. If it does not work i am very sorry!!!!

i know how to fix this the problem is..... if you have been using a hdmi cable and using the hdmi setting for display settings all u have to do is reset the display setting..... to do this all u have to do is:

1. turn on

2.wait to till its fully on

3. turn it off

4.hold the power button until u hear 2 SEPERATE BEAPS

5. read the instruction manual

6.reply back

try calling tech support again the problem maybe bigger then I originally thought.

If the system is new you should still be under warranty with Sony or if you have had the system for less then 30 days you should be able to take it back to the store and exchange it for a new one.

Try going to the Sony web site on your pc and download the latest update put it on a USB storage device such as a mp3 player or a USB flash drive plug the USB storage device into your ps3 and try to update the system again.
