i couldn't get to sleep without trying to work this out on piano. trent on piano is so ethereal, skeletal. especially the verse in this song, it sounds like emptiness. but there is such warmth in the chorus. the right hand embellishments add such eloquence to the steady left hand chords. he does this thing in many songs; at the end of a progression he will play descending tones, creating tension that is resovled at the onset of the progression. it just sucks you in, down the spiral. remarkable.
Great song, I think I honestly like Trent when he plays these slower more thought provoking songs. While I love the metal and up-tempo stuff, the slower stuff is better.

Why is it that people think that the word "fucking" is a good descriptive word? Can you not think of a better word to use? This is a great video and a fantastic song by Trent Reznor. Swearing is the tool by the unintelligent that cannot think of descriptive words to use.

most people curse to get there point(s) across.i've heard several remakes of nine inch nails' songs without the cursing, and i can say for me,it took away a lot of the emotion within the songs.i think it's the same with speaking in general, sometimes.

He`s on of the greatest songwriters ever. This song is awesome. But i wish those song on the second part to year zero. This song has the deep feeling and great melody of a fragile-song. I miss those songs from nine inch nails very much!

lol aggi, don t go nuts, you can t compare trent with beethoven or mozart, they are totaly different styles and trent reznor can t create the magnificent music mozart or beethoven have created !! their styles aren t even similar !!! Reznor is a good musician, nin is a great bad, but there are thousands other as good as them and even better, but MOZART and BEETHOVEN are UNIQUE !

accutally i belive that there styles are very similer but just progressed with the times Such could even be said for slipknot they both create grand movements with any and all sound possibilites included for a SOUNDSCAPE a musical miracle where the listener gets transported to a differnt plane of existance where only the artists and listeners are present, WHICH by the way is the point of the musical arts.Apples...Oranges...There both fruit!

Interesting what happens over time. And not only with Trent. After this vid was posted people were wondering which album this song is on and praising the performance. And then just questioning his decision of going on stage for a charity event. Because he wanted to. And how can you talk about others being better than him? At the very least he's among. Surely we'll be all dust when it will be revealed. But I'm sure his music will be the topic of discussion, yet awed.
