She really wasn't a very maternal person and it shows in the pictures. It wasn't her fault she did not have a stable childhood, was often left in the orphanage or foster care basically motherless. These pictures were part of a publicity stunt by the studio to perpetuate the fake story that she was discovered while babysitting. The hoax was supposed to tone down her sexuality and make her more wholesome. Even Monroe thought it was absurd remarked later "they should have made me a daddy sitter."

its so easy to just butcher her for aborting...but it is not that simple. sometimes situations in life dont permit you to have a baby...it is unfortunate that you get pregnant...they didnt exactly have the pill back in the 1950 s you know.
