He seems like the kinda guy who would be really upset if he were beaten in a competition. When Charles Ferguson cornered him about selling his ethics, his lip quivered and he got very defensive - like a child. He needs an enema to loosen him up.
A complete liar! This man is a paid shill of the corporations and has destroyed hundreds of economics students chances of learning properly. See inside Job and see what a lying money whore he is.
@JakeMansonNYC I used his book for intro to micro last year. The textbook with the apple headphones on the cover. Now I'm using a Paul Samuelson macro book for intro to macro.... I would rather use Mankiw's.
@JakeMansonNYC Why don't you praise hubbard for the tax breaks that helped the filthy rich, while the average wage laborer got royally screwed Supply side does not trickle down, it trickles up, up to people like you. People like you who could give a flying fuck about the under pricing of systemic risk. Keynes is the answer, Congress wants to tighten their economic belts, when they should be focused on heavy deficit spending, taxing the filthy rich at least 90%. Redistribution of wealth.
There is no left on the left. John Maynard Keynes is the answer. Hubbard is Neo-liberal Milton Friedman economist who like most of his Neo-Liberal peers, have raped and destroyed life for the average wage laborer. Why would anyone listen to a moron talk about fiscal responsibility who represents(who influenced policy as well) an admin that caused it in the first place. The Bretton woods system is what we need, to deter the under pricing of systemic risk. Hubbard is a abomination.
I like the fact that Dr. Hubbard is not shy about tackling the supply side--medical licensing regulations that keep supply artificially low and foster cartel like behavior on the part of health care providers.
Unfortunately, Obama's health care plan is a "token" plan. It extends the mere right to health insurance without sufficiently addressing cost inflation, suppressed supply, and the severe budget limitations to expanding Medicare and Medicaid.
This is the most economically coherent set of healthcare reform measures I have heard in a while. Our current political discourse unfortunately tends to cycle back and forth between extending the status quo, managed care, and moving over to single payer. I think Dr. Hubbard makes excellent points about how a Health Savings model can work if it is structured the right way and the tax system is reformed so that it doesn't disproportionately favor employer based health insurance. Look at Singapore!
Obama should have hired this guy to design the healthcare reform. I wonder about his opinion on the bill they passed, mainly the mandatory purchase an insurance
He belongs in jail.
