kevin.See surgeon Dr. Steven D. Stark's book,'The Stark Reality of Stretching'. Finally as said> your 'stretches are damaging positions and/or you go into the position with force(pushing, leaning on the muscle to be stretched)which is very bad. Finally, NEVER hold/pull on the toes when doing a quad stretch. This causes a loading force on the long extensor tendons of the toes which originate from the anterior muscle groups of the lower leg.etc..etc..etc..(It gets deep).Just hold ABOVE the ankle.
Kevin, the 'lunge' you do is NOT a stretch,it is also dangerous. You cannot stretch a muscle(sliding elongation of sarcomeres past their current resting length) by doing this 'lunge'. It will cause microtears in the muscle. You cannot stretch a muscle when in a static position when it is under a load>burning calories and flexed expending energy. You further cannot TIME a stretch (ie:"hold for 15-20 seconds"it's different for everyone. All of your 'stretches' are damaging.See Dr,Steven D.Starks book.
