  • What the hell is the deal with this Christian obsession with sharia law? On a near daily basis now I get accused of supporting and loving sharia law by right wingers. If you go to google and search for "liberals love sharia law" you'll find thousands of articles claiming how receptive and supportive liberals are of sharia law and how we want to bring it to the United States because we're fascinated by multi-culturalism. What planet are these dumbasses living on?

  • Didn't Frederick Douglas say that Evangelical slave masters were always the most brutal? I guess Bryan Fischer believes he knows better than "Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave."

  • if that's true why are the Teabaggers in Tennessee want slavery removed from History books.

    Ha Ass Hat?

  • crack is a terrible drug.

  • Too bad thats not the same tea party as it is today

  • No they(The Tea Party) didn't and neither did Lincoln, Republicans or Liberals. The religious were defending slavery with the bible.

  • @raichutoyou Wait... Quakers and Irish Catholics were vocally opposed to slavery. I know that Quakers even helped runaways...

  • Wow. This is real David Barton-level disingenuous bullshit.

    The bible REVELS in slavery!

  • LMAO,,,,,,,,,this doltish man should be institutionalized and then I would throw away the key.

  • This is the funniest thing I have ever seen.....Come to my street talking about your craziness...

  • LOL. Slavery by Christians was caused by sharia law.

  • Ummmm three words dude, SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION!!! Look it up Mr. Fischer. Do you know why the Southern Baptist seperated from the other Baptists in the decades leading up to the American Civil War? Some very Biblically literate preachers made Biblically sound arguments advocating the idea that the Bible suppourts regulating slavery not abolishing it. We arrived at the conclusion that slavery was wrong despite the Bible not because of it.

  • Um... When was there Sharia Law in colonial America again?

(I must have missed that day in History class, though perhaps having been educated in Northern states I may have been brainwashed by the liberal agenda.)

  • rewriting history these southerners..

  • It was evangelical Christians (really evangelical!) that initiated the slave trade. I'm not sure they should get any net recognition for trying to end what they started.

  • Reminds me of the innocent people, guilty of heresy, that the church

    had executed.

  • America was founded as a Muslim nation according to this guy.

  • Why is it so hard for evangelicals to get their historical facts straight?

  • Evangelicals got rid of slavery because Bryan Fischer says so.

  • WTF? Evangelical Christians ended slavery by rejecting Sharia law? What is up with this crackhead? Evangelical Christians began the slave trade and carried out the genocide of the native people of this land.

  • This channel should be renamed to theocracy watch or idiot watch.

  • WTF has slavery got to do with Sharia law? Slavery existed LONG before Islam came to be and even before the bible was written and the bible itself endorses slavery!

  • lol wat???? is this guy ok?

  • Bryan Fischer is just another cog in the rightwing propaganda machine. Just making shit up to demonize others just like the Nazi's.

Who is going to be the next Hitler? Rick Perry wants the job.

  • .........................What?

  • I feel like before the show starts, the producer says to him "okay now, think of something crazy, and just go with it"

  • That loud noise you just heard was my head exploding.

  • The southern slave owners were all CHRISTIANS. They sited the BIBLE to justify owning slaves.

"The Bible is not my book, and Christianity is not my religion. I could never give assent to the long, complicated statements of Christian dogma."

    ~ Abraham Lincoln

  • ERRRRR so you are saying the Quakers had nothing to do with the abolition of slavery?

  • This is amazing...if only for it's easily destroyable premise. That Shari'a law was somehow used by non-muslim European nations to foster slavery in America can only be believed by the most naive of souls. Stop it B...

  • ...and the dish ran away with the spoon.

  • We have mental institutions for those who make absurd associations between absolutely disparate concepts. In the recesses of this guy's mind lies an alternate reality that makes his world neat, tidy, and tolerable. Doesn't have to have anything to do with reality.

  • Ahem:

    Eat it Fischer!

  • For those who are rightly offended by this psychopath, please note that they show a toll-free phone number and E-mail adress. Here it is:

    AFR's phone nuber: 888-589-8840. E-mail: focalpoint@afr.net

    Give these b@st@rds HELL!!!

  • I keep thinking these retards can't possibly get any more bat-shit and they prove me wrong again & again.

  • @aestevalis0

They know what they're doing. TRUE STUPIDITY is random and the truth occasionally slips in by mere accident.

There's no accident or unplanned "stupidity" here. There is a consistent pattern where everything they say just happens to be the EXACT OPPOSITE of the truth. No half truths, no misunderstandings or mere lack of facts.

There is a method to their madness and it is to REWRITE HISTORYaltogether.

  • The Tea Party/Religious Right/evangelical christians ended slavery In America...... Horsesh*t

  • What the hell is this guy talking about! He mind as well say, Luke Skywalker is the reason why we defeated the British in Europe in the 1500's.

  • OK, now he's just flat-out lying.

  • @unforgivn81 you say that like he hasn't been lying the entire time!?

  • It was liberal Yankee preachers who stirred up trouble in the form of the Abolitionist movement. The Tea Baggers had NOTHING to do with it! What is this moron rattling in about?

  • I call BULLSHIT on this asshole!!!

  • I can't believe this guy has a following. Complete insanity.

  • There are more slaves "working" in the world today than there ever have been in any period in history.

  • @rachelmsmith1989 I am one of them. Unfortunately i dunno what to do to get out of this mind numbing killing of my time by forcing me to work multiple jobs because even the upper sector jobs requiring 110k in college debt do not guarantee job placement and do not guarantee that some bank and credit agency somewhere won't go out and screw it all up a second time and ask for more money from my already mounting living expense debt.

  • Remember, the Democrats and Republicans switched sides long after the Civil War. So yes, the Southern Democrats (the equivalent to modern-day Republicans) at the time opposed abolition and considered black people to be inferior. Sound like anybody we know? (*cough*Hitler*cough*). Yes, Godwin's Law, I know...

  • The man is incredibly stupid, and he has followers

  • Well, I don't know how many "Christians" were actual abolitionists back in the day, but I DO know that the Southern Democrats and slaveholders who UPHELD that institution were ALSO self-proclaimed Christians, were they not??

  • Oh yeah, I'm sure Bryan is SOOO offended by slavery, what with all his bitching about this or that group not deserving 1st Amendment rights or saying we should build no more mosques or calling gays Nazis and so on.

  • So... the teabaggers who started this 'movement' in 2009 with all these rallies somehow RETROACTIVELY ended slavery?? o.O

  • The "tea party" killed slavery almost 100 years AFTER the ratification of the Constitution?? WTF was this "Tea Party" back in the day? The TEA PARTY was an EVENT, you moron! There was no group called the "tea party" in 1863 or 1865, for christ sake.

  • Liberals ended slavery. Liberals ended segregation.

  • @Saebeck32 And Lincoln wasn't much of a Christian himself, either.

  • @Saebeck32 Indeed. Back then (Civil War era), Democrats were conservative, and Republicans were liberals.

  • @TerranRich Exactly.

  • Surprise surprise. More lies from the king of slander. Tea partiers ended slavery?! The slaveholders were largely evangelical. That wasn't sharia law, it was biblical law that allowed slavery. It's one of the many things Christians pick and choose what they will and won't follow out of the bible today. this guys an idiot. People should really stop listening to him.

  • I wonder, does Fissure love the smell of urine in the morning?

  • The Bible explicitly endorses slavery Bryan. Wave your hands all you like and blame the brown people who scare you, it won't make you any less of an idiot.

  • Modern day evangelicals have NOTHING to do with the abolition of slavery. Period.

  • The Evangelical revival was important in the movement to end slavery. Fisher is right about that part.

But Evangelicalism then had nothing to do, theologically, politically and socially, with the Tea-Party Right-wing Social-Conservative Craziness that call itself Evangelical Christianity today.

And slavery in America had nothing to do with Sharia law. Where on earth did he get that bizarre idea? I wonder when he'll start blaming it on "The Homosexual Agenda"....

  • Blatantly false and anyone whith basic education knows that this is just not true.

  • Hey, we practiced slavery for 350 years and said that it was God-ordained. But then we stopped. So we get the credit for abolishing slavery!

  • Liar, liar pants on fire. Slavery was abolished because it was too expensive. . .By freeing blacks, northern states would be free to hire emancipated blacks for less than the cost of buying them or leasing them. . .The rest of the story around the abolition of slavery is just a populace friendly narrative along the lines of how the first English settlers liberated the Indians.

  • Fischer does not mention that Nineteenth Century Evangelicals supported a more open interpretation of the Bible. This opening of Biblical interpretation allowed them to condemn institutions like slavery. Islam is no less contradictory of slavery than Christianity. The use of Sharia Law by Fischer is nothing less than a cheap shot for his ignorant listeners. This clip says a lot about his capactiy to be a honorable Christan leader.

  • My seven ancestors who fought in the Civil War were not Tea Party types.

  • Unfortunately, Fischer is partially correct. Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century Evangelicals were very important in the abolition of slavery in the United States. The Quakers were, as noted by someone else, were also abolitionists but they are not grouped with the Evangelicals. Fischer does not mention, of course, that Evangelicals would were the liberals of their day. They supported expanded rights for workers, woman, children, clean politics, and economic reforms.

  • My reaction to the title was: Im sorry what?

Does anyone actually listen to this moron anymore i mean really?!

  • @the1tigglet re: "Does anyone actually listen to this moron anymore i mean really?!"

Unfortunately, yes! He was one of the key speakers at the last Faith and Values hate fest. He says the most ridiculous, outrageous and dangerous things and people just clap and smile and, for the most part, agree with him. He hates The Gays, Muslims and anyone who's not evangelical. What's striking is that the Christian Taliban is so much like the one in the Middle East, yet they say they despise them.

  • @suvariboy this country would move forward again if we required all members of government to be athiest/deist have a large background in science, and cut off the ability of Corporations and Churches to spend anything on candidate or congressmen judges or political commercials in districts.

  • @the1tigglet I agree but that'll never happen, now the the Dominionists working night and day to further their agenda. The problem is that many people pay little or no attention to politics because they feel that it's so far gone that they have no power. But they do. Just look at Occupy Wall Street. Why do you think that FOX was so quick to dismiss it? "Just a bunch of dirty, smelly hippies" they say. Layabouts. Trust fund babies who just wanna hang out & smoke pot. Ya, right!

  • this guy is a fucking nut job

  • David Duke is a Tea Bagger

  • Didn't liberals and progressives help in ending slavery also, Mr. Fischer?

  • Didn't the Constitution of the Confederacy mention that slavery was ordained by God and therefore legal? Is he seriously saying that southern evangelical christians who fought for the confederacy weren't real christians?

  • Bryan Fischer has given up making sense at this point. Everything out of his mouth is slowly becoming more and more of a mass of jumbled buzz words and hate. In a few months, I won't be surprised if he's warning us about Sharia Law Occupy Wall Street Red Coat Pine Cones.

  • LOL this guy is such an ass......Please IF Karma exists - let his Dirt Nap happen soon......

  • i'd really love to hear from anyone who actually believes anything that comes out of fischer's mouth. i mean what in god's name is it about this evil liar that makes anyone align themselves with him!

  • Well... interesting.

This is just 2 levels under the average understanding of history of what seems to be the "average" american.

  • Blasphemy!

The bible says we are to have slaves. The bible provides instructions on how to treat your slaves.

Have you ever even tried to read the bible, you violate it’s laws and misquote it so much, there is no way you read any part of it.

  • @MrVillabolo

Slavery is supported in the bible, yet Bryan makes the perception Islam is the only religion with blood on its hands. Bryan has consistently misinterpreted, distorted, and lied. Thankfully his type of evil is being exposed to more light.

And thankfully over the centuries religion has evolved to be more humane and compassionate. It still has a long way to go before it could be considered moral, but at least the dark ages are far behind.

  • @Blairtim69

Unfortunately there are several countries still living in the dark ages, oppressed by dictators, religion, or both.

  • If this a-hole looses his keys, he's going to blame it on:

    a) gays

    b) liberals

    c) Sharia law

    d) all of the above

  • I might add that many of the arguments FOR slavery were derived from bizarre twisting of theology by american protestant fundamentalists. If these people can make enslavement of Africans sound holy to the masses then that's the best warning I can think of against what the Fischers et al are up to these days.

  • Nope, you guys didn't end slavery. You get no credit for that. Amending the Constitution to ban drinking alcohol? I'll give you credit for that one, you lunatics. Talk about "sharia law"? Rejecting it? Not here in the US. Here it's called "values voting".

  • I know these fruitloops don't believe in science, but it seems they're not too keen on history either.

  • wait, did the tea party even exist in the 1800's?

  • Evangelicals are not a cult, they are a Klan.

  • He seems to forget that their was just as many evangelicals for slavery as those opposed to it. He also seems to forget that the abolitionist movement was founded mostly by Quakers. Quakers don't really fall under the Evangelical movement.

  • ...

  • this man is fucking delusional

  • Evangelicals are a cult!!!

  • Ugh, let's rewrite history and pepper it with Islam. Add a dash of stupid, considering the equality of those slaves so wonderfully freed by Tea Party didn't happen until a century later. Why, aren't those Tea Party people so great? They really fought against equality during their sorted history. I am completely convinced Bryan Fischer uses acid before his broadcasts.

  • Wait, what the hell does Sharia Law have ANYTHING to do with slaveryin America!?

"I assert most unhesitatingly, that the religion of the south is a mere covering for the most horrid crimes, a justifier of the most appalling barbarity, a sanctifier of the most hateful frauds, and a dark shelter under, which the darkest, foulest, grossest, and most infernal deeds of the slaveholders find the strongest protection." ~ Frederick Douglass

I think I'll take FD's word over yours, Fischer. GTFO.

  • @EntinludeX Obviously this guy is a bloody turd - and Douglass was right about the average church in the south - however to use Douglass claim to denounce the contribution of individual Christians to the cause of ending slavery is just wrong. Give credit and condemnation in proper measure.

  • Welcome to the beginning of fascism. Retell history in falsehood and attract the gullible. It's a pitty there are so many sheep in this world.

  • Heres what another prominent christian was saying at the time...

"Slavery was established by decree of Almighty God...it is sanctioned in the Bible, in both Testaments, from Genesis to Revelation...it has existed in all ages, has been found among the people of the highest civilization, and in nations of the highest proficiency in the arts."

-Jefferson Davis, President, Confederate States of America

  • Evangelicals used the Bible to justify slavery. Furthermore, I find it amusing that he is somehow using his warped version of history to personally take credit for the ending of slavery. And how did the Muslims get into this story?

  • Yeah sure and the tea party also fought for the civil rights movement, Pu'll the other one Fischer

  • @ISlamMyWifeIntoAWall

Just Wait, He'll get there. He will even add in women's rights too.

  • If that's true then they weren't true Christians. Doesn't that precious book of yours not only condone slavery, but promote it?

  • HA! HA HA HA HA HA!!!

    and...HA!!
