Pretty cool, you can link the motors with a simple wood tie rod like I did in my video so when you turn 1 motor the other turns with it like a car front tires do. Makes turning sharp much easier. We use dual electrics on our canoe all the time that way.
FYI wally world sells some ozark trail stuff in sporting goods that will patch a hole in minutes. comes in a small bottle, and is sold to stop air leaks on air beds, but works on any inflateable. i experiment with the sevylor wally boats, and tihis is the greatest stuff to repair small holes. no patch even needed for small holes. less then three bux at the big box. i love the electric trooling motors for these boats and what a peaceful ride.
We actually own 3 "real" boats in NY. This one is just our vacation toy when we spend time with my in-laws in Florida. They live in a gated community that only allows electric engines so we had to do something to get on the water. One engine was too slow for us so we "supersized it".
@factxback if you mounted a catamaran bar supporting 2 childs kayaks as outriggers to your trolling motor mount system to lessen the weight of the batteries and trolling motors and also stabilize the boat, you could place another board horizontally on top of those metal bars used in the mount system you currently have to mount batteries freeing up room in the boat itself. this would allow for a three engine setup as well, this is what i mean by outriggers (2 child kayaks) /watch?v=Gi4TyV3FPPY
We purchased the motors on craigslist for less than $100 each so the only thing we cared about was if the shaft was long enough not to pop the boat and could we rotate both motors so they would not hit each other (hence the board clamped on). We are thinking of a 3rd motor this year but there is barely room for us with 2 batteries and the 3rd motor will hit the other 2 if we spin it wrong. I could wire 2 batteries in parallel but the motors hitting is still a concern.
@factxback if you take a piece of wood like a wooden broom handle or something measure the distance between the two trolling motor handles when they are pointed straight ahead subtract about 1 inch off that distance and cut the wooden pole to that measurement screw in a loop ended screw to either end of that bar <////=O you can find em at a home depot I've seen em, then take some string and tie the loop ended handle bar to your trolling motor handles. You now have a steering bar.
hey when you're mounting motors, do the motors have to be "long shaft" - do you think short shaft gas motors will still work without chopping the boat up by the propellor?
It was from wal-mart. You need a Marine motor because they have better endurance.

You do realize that they make both 101 lb trolling motors and 2HP electric outboards right? Be a hell of a lot easier and faster.

please reply to this. do you have a set of drawn plans for the transom board???

@jackrakino - It is actually a kit you can purchase from the same places that sell the boat. It is the engine mount kit.

Bass Pro sells it - I can email you the item number if you want

why he dont get a bigger motor to be faster and the second thing
is that when the motor is so deep down so mush like that it will not give the effect good this is by phisyics

You can fish with it in a lake. Just watch the hooks because it is still made of plastic and air.

@factxback Do they usually want a boat like this to be registered without a motor and fishing on reservoirs
