The solution seems to be for prospective sperm donors to be legally counseled that they may, and most probably will, be held libel for child support, alimony, court costs and the indignity and castigation of public exposure without any conjugal or Common Law amenities. Let us see how many donors of quality sperm sign up. I have been recruited to donate sperm by a number of organizations and each time I've graciously refused. I've helped raise, but have never physically fathered, a child.

I think the take home message from this is that: men should never be sperm donors; they should always wear a condom; and they should make sure the condom isn't past its expiry date, and isn't tampered with before and after sex. Dispose of that rubber safely guys. It could cause you to get 18 years of slavery for a child you didn't want. I'm surprised lesbians aren't furious with how this precedent damages their child bearing interests.
