Very scary, they don't make them like this anymore. This was part of my life growing up. Watching makes you realize how poor television is today, no new ideas and rubbish politically correct crap.
in the intro when they are showing the various elements you see the shape of a large helmet in the background i think that was supposed to represent the god of order the being that gave the elements their assignments. i had a raving fit when this show was cancelled i wanted to see more episodes, iwanted to see all the elements especialy jet since it was hinted in the series that she had a relationship with steel i also wanted to see where they came from and the various creatures wanting time.
This show featuring Joanna Lumley and the excellent David McCallum used to scare me half to death! One of the strangest shows ever made. So creepy and weird but addictive!
Whoa, this is the only ep of S&S I haven't watched just because the very few glimpses I've seen just really look so freaky. The dude without a face is too creepy for words.
I know someone keeps making S&S stories, but not like the actual series. Wish they could bring S&S back, but the only way it could be done right would be with DM and JL - they are essential. It could have been done 10-15 years ago, but I don't know that David could do it now - too bad.
I was 16 when I saw this programme and I'd always get stoned when watching it...fffrrreeeeaaaakkkyyyy aaaassss shit. and if they do a remake of it I hope they get it right and not fuck it up.
Only a few people actually remember this show. I was little when it was around. I liked it. I didn't have a clue I would find it here. Thanks for loading it.
dudes...do u knw where i can buy DVD:s i live in finland :/...and do u remember the one where spphire and steel were in mansion and some1 killed 1 by 1 mansions guests?
yeah that's the railway station one, it happens in about episode 6 i think, i'll have to dig it off my video shelf and watch it sometime. what about the one with the green door.....?
hi there, it used to be on a tuesday and thursday night, i was only 9 when i started watching it. remember the ITV strike which interrupted the second story, it went on for months.
Yea this used to scare the living crap out of me. It was really DARK and disturbing. I have these two freaky memories that gave me nightmares as a child, one was with a man with no face and the other was a horrible baby/dwarth thing it a cot that kept getting bigger. Really sick shit

Great program but I was always bugged that Jet, Diamond, Sapphire & Steel weren't actually elements - but then again I was a geeky kid..

Scared 3 clours of living crap outta me when I was a kid. Especially the man without a face who moved from photo to photo.
Managed to see the final ever episode when the replayed it in New Zealand.

This was always the one that gave me nightmares. I think it was the man without a face that did it... God, did it give me the shivers?

I own the complete series in DVD (you can look for it in Amazon). It's hallucinating. I can't explain why there has not been a remake.

It really makes you wonder just how many viewers suddenly became seriously camera-shy after seeing this particular Sapphire and Steel adventure...
avidviewer67 5 years ago
In one horrific 'split-second' scene, apparently, Shaun O' Riordan used mince on Joanna Lumley's face during the filming of The Railway Station.

Way, way dark. PJ Hammond left us guessing about so much to do with Sapphire and Steel. -But that's what I love about it.
I got 'em all on DVD. My favourites are the time capsule and motorway service station adventures.

I agree completely. It was very disturbing and creepy, and it was on on prime time tv. Gave me some sleepless nights when I was a kid.
