  • If la Dispute and MWOY colabed, omg. . I'd cry.

  • I have this and like 4 other albums on but I'm still listening on here

  • @sunburststratocaster What have we done so wrong? That's not the question I believe. He saved us because he is merciful. We as Christians should want to ask for forgiveness because we do nothing but sin, but he still forgives. And we've done the worst things anyone can think of. Simply stealing should be such a dishonor that we should fall on our knees begging for forgiveness.

  • @mastahooha That so perfectly destroyed his argument. This is not in any way a "twisted" relationship. We can't just expect to have Him do everything for us, since after all, we were the ones saved. To get our chance, we need to fix what us as humans have messed up, messes of men.

  • @haydenarias Yea I don't really like them, but I hear that a lot that they're good

  • They kindof sound like a more rock-ish A Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra and Tra-La-La Band. :)

  • this shit is amazing.

  • I am really digging this song right now

  • hey check my page to see a vocal cover of this song!

  • This and La Dispute are the best

  • @David8Parkour

    and Brand New

  • unique band. diverse, unlike any i have ever heard. WOW!

  • Im a atheist secular humanist but i love this song.

  • BEST BAND OF PAST DECADE HANDS DOWN, EVER HEARD OF UNDER RATED? THIS IS THE DEFINITION. NOT SINCE FUGAZI AND SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE HAS THERE BEEN SUCH A GREAT TALENT UNOTICED BY MILLIONS. I GUESS THAT'S A GOOD THING THOUGH.

  • @Erieskies FUGAZI!!!

  • Beauty.

  • And if you come near ill hold up high a mirror,

lord, i could never show you anything as beautiful as you.

  • Aaron Weiss and his band has been a key roll in bringing a back-slidden man (Me) back to God. I believe the way he doesn't promote religion and the strict Christian ways made me realize that having a true relationship with God was what I was missing.

If God is for us who can be against us?

  • @pewping685 No one.

  • "ohhh myyyy goddd....." beautiful moment in this amazing song.

  • i have now officially memorized this entire song.

  • I DUNT LIKE JESUS BUT I LIKE THIS

  • @JusticeVonBrandt I don't like sour cream but i like this

  • This music almost sets me straight.

  • A song at last for us men so full of sin.

  • Amazingly clever song!!! Lyrical content to arrangement, this is a super intelligent approach to the construction of music. This track continues to haunt me in the most fascinating way.

  • 2:26 LOVE the eBow! these lyrics seriously give me chills.

  • "I'd never want someone so crass as to want someone like me"

What? Am I not the only one who think that way?

  • @HNUFAR unfortunately not

  • @SenorSlopez kinda obvious. BUT if the person repented and asked for forgiveness TRULY, then God would forgive him. Because he's a forgiving God. You can learn more about his forgiveness on my ministry's page

That's why it exists, to teach people like yourself, and answer these questions you're asking. You can ask anything on the page and it will be answered. You should check it out!

  • i love these guys....brings people together.....best dancing music, you just lose yourself in it....i want to see them live so badly

  • @jacquesth2 i agree. i saw em once, ... by far the best show i've ever seen. I left feeling like i was high without smoking. felt the holy spirit in that hole in the wall bar. awesomeness

  • These guys remind me of La Dispute and vice versa.

  • why do you people have to argue? just enjoy the music...

  • @SenorSlopez I wish more people, myself included, could learn to express themselves as eloquently as you do. Bravo sir

  • When I was 9 (18 now) I was at summer day camp. and a girl my age was wearing one of their shirts. and when i asked her what shirt that was she was like "mewithoutyou" and i just walked away thinking it was a joke. then later saw thats what it actually said on the shirt. I thought to myself what a stupid name because i never understood it. well 4 years passed by and I actually listened to one of their songs (january 1979) and fell in love ever since. I regret making fun of that girl...

  • @eyeproceed wow that girl was like 5 years ahead of her time, I love that song just like the rest of their songs! =P

  • thanks for posting this! this whole album is GREAT! I quite like "A sweater poorly knit"

  • Good Song!!!!!!

  • There are 5 captians that were pissed off by by him laughing louder at the jokes told by their daughter's

  • @firez600 no

  • it's amazing how the album starts and ends with "i do not exist"

  • tolerance and understanding towards both beliefs is key, as is moderating yourself from these conflicts. pushing beliefs (either way) shows how ignorant of a person you are. By letting a person choose and be content with their choice you are showing more recognition than ever saying anything. now to the song, awesome song awesome band :D

  • @mikehennyt read "Ethics of Belief" by William Clifford, it makes a case of saying fuck tolerance. I would side with this view, but the bottom line is in the real world you cant force people to change the way they think, Im sure you can think of many examples of that shit going really bad.

  • @KCkoolaidking no i completely agree that you cant make people change, but on the other hand i am trying to say it important to see the world in multiple perspectives.

  • with ya sunburst, pure brilliance

  • I love these guys so much..I am a huge Christian and i didnt know they were also. I SHOULD HAVE FIGURED BY THE THINGS THEY ARE SINGING..It's music like this that everyone should here..such wisdom and passion in the lyrics and the voices!!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!

  • "i'd never want someone so crass as to want someone like me"

    fukken deep, man.

  • @Jmods360 It's not that black and white.

  • @Jmods360 That's a terrible way of thinking... Even if it makes no sense, still believe in it??? I'm fully happy without any type of religion in my life. There's just no need for it. And I'd rather live a life knowing the truth about the world then delude myself into thinking that I'll go somewhere when I die. And instead of focusing on getting through this hellish world to make it to a better, I'd rather focus on making the most of this life and trying to change the hellish world.

  • Comment removed

  • @Jmods360 I don't do drugs and I'm still a virgin, unlike most people my age-- the virgin part isn't exactly by choice, but my point still stands. Saying the only possible things to live for are drugs and sex is like saying that the only reason to own a knife is to stab people. There are so many things about life that make it worth living. My life is filled with friendship and love and understanding, and that's what I can continue to look forward to. (cont. in next post)

  • @Jmods360 (cont. from last post) I have an entire life ahead of me of this stuff-- having good times with people I love. I play music, and I look forward to making so much music in my life. I write poetry, and I look forward to writing volumes of it as the years go on. I'm going to have a job, but it's going to be a job I love. And even if it isn't a job I love, who cares? I'll still get to come home every day and kick back and relax and talk to my friends and write. (cont. in next post)

  • @SenorSlopez ren't living like they should be. Just because some christians are dumb, doesn't mean God is dumb.

I play music too. And I just started a ministry. My life is AMAZING, but what heaven holds has never even came to the mind of a man.

“He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” (John 3:36)

He DIED, so you wouldn't have to. I don't understand why people can't see how much they are loved.

  • @Jmods360 (final part) I can't imagine anything, in life or after life, better than that. I don't need a promise of heaven to keep me going, because despite all of its flaws, life is heaven. It doesn't matter who remembers me, because no matter what, I've made my mark by living life to the fullest instead of fretting constantly about whether I'll get into heaven.

If I die and I find out that there IS a heaven, but I'm not allowed in simply because I didn't believe in it, it is not heaven.

  • @SenorSlopez Whoa. You go man. Good for you. That last statement was so profound. I think you've just altered my beliefs.

  • @sleeperstatic Wow, thank you! I'm glad I made sense to someone :)

  • @SenorSlopez its not like that. There is no fretting, because to get into heaven, all you need to do is believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and died for your sins.

People misunderstand that and say you have to be a perfect person, and such.

You can be a badish person, but believe that Jesus is the Son of God and get in.

The thing is, the better you are, and the more you do to Glorify God,The better you will have it in Heaven.

No fretting is needed. You CAN know if you're going or not.

  • @monsternotmikey Hm, that's an interpretation that nobody's ever quite told to me before. However, it makes even less sense to me now-- If heaven is paradise, why is it more important to believe in Jesus than to be a good person? If you can get away with some "sin" but still believe in Jesus and get into heaven, but meanwhile someone else lives their entire life upholding to the highest possible moral code and doesn't get in because they didn't believe in Jesus... where's the justice in that?

  • @SenorSlopez Because to get into heaven, you have to be 100% perfect. Not ONE sin. Jesus didn't sin once, that's why he got in. He died for you sins. So you get up to Heaven, and God is like, You sinned, and Jesus is like, well I died for his sins, and he believed in me, let him in.

Not literally like that, but that's how it is. He died for your sins. There are exceptions where you can believe in him and not go. If you're like SUPER bad. like, drugs and sex all day, killing people. haha. that's

  • @SenorSlopez and it is Heaven, just because you won't be in it (if you don't change) doesn't mean its not gonna be heaven. If you dont have money for Disney, and they dont let you in because you "Simply cant afford it" Oh so it's not disney? No. That doesn't make any sense.

One day you WILL stand before God. Whether you believe or not doesn't change that you WILL. Heaven isn't to "keep you going" either. I'm not bashing you either. Im praying for you. I want you to realize. Christians who bash

  • @SenorSlopez I honestly feel so terrible for doing this. I don't have any idea what lead me to type these poorly worded, mislead youtube comments. I have realized how absolutely stupid it was and I apologize.

  • @Jmods360 it says in Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.....and it goes on to say that to be in heaven with Christ is better, but it is necessary for you to live.....to obviously spread the love of God......also Jesus says in John 10:10 "i have come that they may have life and have it to the full." so don't live your life just so that you can die.....live the life that Jesus gave to you when he died............the bible is for love not argument

  • @01dalder That's what i believe :]

  • if Love is real, then God is exists.

    because God is Love.

  • @01dalder I can't explain how ignorant that is to say that. Fucktard. Listen to what you are saying. In a nutshell, you said: "If you love people, you believe in God. And if you believe in God, you know love." Retard. Not accurate at all.

  • @XxGLASSCOCKxX Stop fighting, this song tells us otherwise.

  • @XxGLASSCOCKxX Don't fight, this song is nice. In the bible it says GOD is love, not necessarily you believe in Him its just if you want to know what hes like, merciful and kind and always forgiving: Love. :D Lets not fight my friends no matter how ignorant anyone can be. Thats why I do my fighting with Guns! :D

  • @missionmooch Lol. Christains and the NRA: An unseparable bond from the beginning of time. xD Hahahaha. Okay.

  • Dear people:

God isn't real. Get a life.

    Love,

    Your friendly neighborhood troll. <3

  • Believe in what makes you happy. If you want to call that God then do it.

  • debate to understand that we all have a flaw.

I'll take this over Joel Osteen's fake smile any day.

  • The beginning of this song makes all of my nerves tingle.

  • @casedinlight worddddddddddd!

  • athiests stilll love them including me

  • with you on that

  • @sunburststratocaster Every one of their songs have one of you guys saying that xD

  • @missionmooch yessir, they're great

  • @sunburststratocaster Is there one of their songs where someone doesn't make that comment xD

  • @sunburststratocaster And if Aaron Weiuss found Wisdom and Joy And Love isn't it at least worth checking ou7t :D Sorry wasn't trying to come of ignorant or weird Mewithoutyou rocks xD

  • @missionmooch Religion is not the definition of Wisdom, Joy, and Love. You're not really coming off ignorant or weird, but trust me, I've done enough exploring to find out that I don't need/want a God. Let's not start a debate, just listen.

  • @sunburststratocaster The cool thing is that Jesus isnt a religion, but a relationship. No wonder so many people dislike this "God" - they made him into a religion. Christianity is a relationship :) just saying bro

  • @james12921 Well, I don't need a 'relationship' with an imaginary man to live my life well. By the way, most Christians would disagree.

  • @sunburststratocaster Not this one.

  • @0amelia0 Actually, if it's a relationship, why do you get on your knees, beg, and confess to him? Seems like a twisted relationship to me.

  • @sunburststratocaster In a good relationship shouldn't you admit when you've done something wrong?

  • @0amelia0 Do you get on your knees and beg to your wife when you've done something wrong? What exactly have you done so wrong that you need his approval to continue living?

  • @sunburststratocaster Brother, don't be upset with me for saying this, but I think you may really believe in God. You just separate the word from the reality. I believe that you are compelled towards this band, because there is something within you that believes in Love, Truth and Goodness. Do not give up on God, because you have not found an adequate concept for Him.

I think we all, in our heart of hearts, believe in the Everlasting One. We, however, have frail minds that cannot grasp Him

  • @AZ0960036 They have inventive lyrics, good metaphors, and just an overall great sound. That's why I like them. If I would believe in a religion, it would be one that did not believe in a monotheistic god, because I think that is simply absurd. Maybe Buddhism or Taoism.

  • very nicely put

  • @sunburststratocaster Me too! I think it's the beautiful voice of Aaron Weiss combined with the soothing tones that come from the rest of the band. Aaron Weiss could sing about killing people and enjoying it, and while I am a pacifist I would still love the song because of his powerful, moving, beautiful voice.

  • @popckik In response to nonreligious interpretation of the music, I see it as being about interpersonal relationships and self-perception. Questioning ours elves and actions, yearning to share our pov, to have genuinely deep feelings for another and the impotence at not being able to truly share. While I can see a religious interpretation, I don't think it necessarily has to be the case. Self discovery and philosophy can exist without religion, being an alternate path to personal enlightenment.

  • @talies6282 Elves should never go unquestioned.

  • if it doesn't have a 'religious' meaning to some of you people, what do the mwy lyrics mean to you?

For me, personally, they do have a religious meaning.

Can you really be completely atheist and listen to their music without going deeper into the lyrics?

  • <-- another atheist fan of mwY here

  • Music that makes you feel.

  • im an atheist. never been religious. don't believe in it. oh and mewithoutyou is my favourite band :)

  • Lyrics. Music. Amazing. Mind. Blown.

  • it doean't have to be interpreted as having a strictly religious meaning.

  • @Olivia7Ptv they write subliminally christian lyrics. so they can appeal to both religious and non religious audiences. mwy is awesome. long live real music

  • i honestly cannot explain my love for mewithoutyou. 4realzzz

  • I'm glad these guys write the music they want to write, and they love what they love, and they sing what they sing. This is a great song!

  • Quem não gostar disto, merece morrer.

  • @NapoleanBender Religion has around forever, and it will be around forever. Unfortunately, so will whiny bitches like yourself : \

  • @hobowelf You know what is funny? Religion has not been around forever. The most intriguing characteristic of neanderthals is that they buried their dead. This was a new thing in the world. And perhaps the defining characteristic of a neanderthal. But even we don't know if they did it as a religious thing or simply a means of getting rid of corpses.. So no, religion has not been around forever.

  • @Grave187RIP13 point still stands. Neanderthals didn't have religion but I'm fairly certain they didn't have asinine tools either.

  • @hobowelf What do useless tools have to do with this?

  • @hobowelf Well there's a huge difference between all religion and the mental handicaps that are christianity/islam/judaism. Buddhism doesn't require you to believe some random ass stories told to you by your parents so you're right that one will be around for a while. And I wouldn't consider someone who's trying to help cure your insanity a whiny bitch but to each their own.

  • @NapoleanBender

Fortunately for me, Christianity is not a religion. Everything else is that you listed. With Christianity, it is simply a faith for me, and that is all that is required for a Christian's goal of heaven and being saved. Luckily, there is no requirement to believe stories, do random prayers, and random actions.. just simply a faith! However, there are some Christians, who try to make things into a religion sadly.

  • @Anaboliceli Its a relationship right :D There are so many different religions and denominations, but I dont want a religion or denomination what i need is a savior and that is exactly what GOD showed me and now I know this to be true I promise its true I have seen the most amazing and wildest and crazy things. :D

  • you know... there's such a thing as listening to the music, enjoying it, and liking it without arguing.

  • i wish the instrumental part at the end went on a little longer

  • i heard they used to be Muslim

  • @acecartwrightnwade his mother is a muslim and his father was a jew or something... CRAZY.

  • great band

  • this is the best song i have ever heard in my life just can not stop listening to it

  • This band would be incredible if they didn't latch themselves onto christianity.

  • @ShizuneIsMaiWaifu jesus is the light. your wonderful. ;)

  • @ShizuneIsMaiWaifu they attach them self to jesus just as much as allah. there monothiests that have come to the realization that allah, jehovah, and jesus are manifestations of the same moral principles and ideas.

  • @canabismanabis Ahhh somebody who actually knows who the band stands and isn't like "their st00pid bcuz thier christian!"

  • @canabismanabis Funny how since Jehovah and Jesus (The same Being, if you'd actually read the Bible) are the same moral manifestations as allah, seeing how the religions have polar opposite morals. And Judaism, and it's continuation, Christianity are much older than Islam, which seems like a cheap and poorly done copy to me.

  • @ShizuneIsMaiWaifu Being Christian doesn't make them any less incredible. That's like saying that Isaac Newton wasn't important to physics because he was a Christian. I don't want to start an argument, but please don't say ignorant things like that.

  • @Grave187RIP13 While i do agree with your opinion, i find it comically ironic that you're telling metallicacdc that his opinion (that it is possible for an opinion to be "wrong") is wrong. Just thought I'd point that out.

  • I actually got to talk to aaron weiss after a show last year at cmu, but since that was the first time i had ever heard mewithoutyou, i couldn't think of much to say. needless to say, I feel pretty dumb now :(

  • Hey guys! I just love Jesus he is pretty dang tigh if you ask me. He died so that I migh live and be wrong and learn to be "right". He loves me despite my ignorance and so that I might love you no matter what. I don't know where I would be without his love for me. Certainly not here on facebook saying this. :P

  • @Michaelgoround You appear to be on Youtube, sir.

  • @WalnutHillStudios

I was on youtube. I was probably on facebook at the same time if that counts. Probably not. :/

  • Somehow, two idiots managed to dislike this...Wtf?

  • @metallicacdc They have the right to an opposing opinion, don't be so ignorant as to call them idiots because they don't like what we do.

  • @Grave187RIP13 Everyone is entitled to an /informed/ opinion. Anyone that's informed knows that this song is amazing.

  • @metallicacdc They have the right to an opinion no matter what.

  • @Grave187RIP13 So then you'd say that people that think other people are "below" them simply because they're a different race or ethnicity than they have a valid opinion? No, they don't. Everyone is entitled to an informed opinion--not uninformed bullshit. Americans are constantly fooled into believing that an opinion is valid no matter how stupid it is. Time to wake up, kiddos.

  • @metallicacdc I never said that their opinion is "valid". Besides there's no such thing as a "valid" opinion. It's an opinion, everyone has a differing one. It's ones voice, and no matter how opposing or how much it disgusts you it's still their opinion and you must respect that.

  • @Grave187RIP13 Sorry, but I don't care if everyone has their own opinion, there are inherently wrong ones.

  • @metallicacdc An opinion can not be wrong, it's ones interpretation of something. Your ignorance is beyond belief.

  • @Grave187RIP13 So then you're saying that an opinion of Africans being "lower" than Europeans is acceptable? If you tolerate something that stupid, then you're clearly an idiot.

  • @metallicacdc I don't believe that that is true, but they still have just as much as the right to an opinion as I do.

  • @Grave187RIP13 No, they don't. You can keep living in your pretend world where everyone is happy with everything and tolerates everyone else all you want, but the fact of the matter is, not everyone deserves the opinion that they are "granted." Keep on hipster, you're not going to change my views.

  • @metallicacdc Well keep on trying to oppress people and deprive them of the right to an opinion that they were born with fascist. There was a man with a mentality such as yours, he killed millions and was called Adolph. So I WILL live in this 'pretend world' where I tolerate people and not act like an arrogant jack ass who thinks that my opinion is the only one that matters, so in short, I'll live my life the opposite of yours.

  • @Grave187RIP13 Funny, you're comparing me to Hitler when you obviously know nothing about him--I won't even get into that bit of nonsense because that would take a few comments to explain to someone as uneducated on the subject such as yourself. And I very well may be an "arrogant jack ass," as you put it, but frankly, I stand by my original belief that I've had since I was a kid (mind you, I decided it entirely on my own) that everyone is entitled to an informed opinion.

  • @metallicacdc Well that kinda sucks for you because whether or not you want people to only have an informed opinion everyone is going to have one, informed or uninformed. So peace, I'm done with this debate.

  • @Grave187RIP13 Exactly, hence why I ignore people with uninformed opinions. G'day, sir.

  • @metallicacdc you like metalica AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH

  • They do this song live sooo well!

  • @seanturpin01 I agree, hearing it live made me like the song so much more.

  • such a true and great song

  • fucking amazing, first time i listened to this I heard it on vinyl, I recomend it to everyone XD

  • i like it its good

  • are they a christian band???
