@MocVoJupiter Please come and watch my new kung fu video. I showcase a skilled mixture of tai chi and capoeira and use the environment to my advantage much similarly to that of Jackie Chan. Let me know what you think.
@skeyke HA ha!. Im just saying, Im pretty bad ass at MMA/KUNG-FU, i studied wing chun taekwoon Do muy tai hapkido western boxing acrobatics and wushu kickboxing for 17 years everyday (and Im only 25yrs old), i to learned all the 2 finger press-ups and flashy stuff, but i put all my effort in making sure i can use what i learn, trash me if you want, i love what i can do. be as strong as you want but i'll kick you in the head before you even see it
@skeyke yeah.. a skillful talented intelligent person with great hair who is making the most of he's life. hate all you want, i was not bragging, i was born with a love of kung-fu so took up a martial arts lifestyle very young ( still practice wing chun forms almost everyday), and at the same time i lead an honest and healthy life. and i do it without bad attitude :)
they are not that impressive, if you train an hour daily within (more or less) a year or so you will be able to much more with the appropriate guidance and will, i was doing these kind of stuff myself but i had to stop because of the sifu. apparently the vast majority of kung fu instructors in my country somehow believe that violence is a good thing, anyhow, i suppose that's another story, (as for the video) nice try though
any type of work, martial art related or just physical conditioning, is the essence of gongfu. The same is true for yoga - it is not a series of asanas and poses, rather it is a lifestyle discipline. Do you know BoddhiDharma?
@ikbenloran He just avoid the bullet... This guy should be faster than the one who pulled the trigger, so when the bullet is fired he is already in close combat and the other guy is dead... -_-
@ikbenloran Ask police officers and they'll tell you that if your gun isn't already trained on someone 15 feet away or less, you might be in for a world of hurt or dead. Even if the gun's already out, 7-8 feet is awfully dangerous with an athletic individual if they know what they're doing.
Gotta try and remember that most people are not gun experts, police included. Most don't have a super fast draw + aim + shoot and are not trained to instantly kill someone when they suddenly drop + tackle.
It's hard to see from this angle, but it's actually his blackbelt pushing him up off the floor for those 2 finger pushups, lol. watch again and imagine it.
it's sorta amazing how it looks like he has no muscle but can do these things... or is it that he has no fat at all and just muscle... or is it that he has just enough muscle to move a very very small light body.. that's probably it
All of those movements are position-strength specific. Much like a planche is for gymnasts. The reason for lack of actual muscle might be that he doesn't eat for the gains...poor diet...deliberate lack of calories...whatever it is, the strength you see is really from a unification of the central nervous system. Almost like learning to wield a new weapon. Eventually the position and attack patterns become second nature.
yes it takes years to practice a dicipline or to master a technique for example i have been doing boxing for 6 years but how could u say it would take years to make an improvement from 5 finger to 1 finger pushups. i remember i wasnt able to do 1 pull up b4(i coulndt carry my own body weight) but 3 months of practices i was already able to do sets of pullups each set i could do 10,when 3months earlier i coudnt even do 1
Saying it takes years can kinda take away the motivation though, its best to set really small goals, and achieving them often will boost your confidence
One chinup more a week was my goal, and I went from 9 to 21 in just a summer (didnt quite make it =P)
depends on how fast you push yourself to do it. If you can only do like 20 reg pushups and you try to jump into fingers, yeah it can be bad. But if you work into it slowly, it can be an amazing thing
Man! This is a cool video. However, one thing about 1 finger and a thumb that you do pushup is that it does not seem like the right way as Bruce Lee did. He did finger pushup with his body straight and legs not wide open.
In any sport some will be more gifted than others. His personal achievements are remarkable.. and at his size he has a much higher potential to survive a conflict with his training than without.. the true art is for survival and with the chi flowing through a strong flexible body his endophine levels and adaptability to stress are at optimal levels. Im sure by a well placed hit he would cause considerable damage
I have to say, in all seriousness, that I would rather jump in front of a car on the highway than take a hit from this beast. I'd probably have a better chance of surviving. I bet he kicks like a race horse.
Your one handed push ups were piss poor sell outs, you're meant to keep your legs together... when you do that like Bruce Lee... then I'll be impressed.... though generally, this video was pretty good
uh huh. That's why his physical condition and shape is so highly regarded in todays world, his power, strength and speed. He was a "disgrace" because martial arts was apparently only supposed to be taught to one race of people. Bruce Lee thought everyone should be able to learn it, not limited. Ahaha, and try not to look too badass by adding "Wake up" at the end of your comment, might hurt yourself. lmao
Don't bother commenting back unless you get some common sense and knowledge.
This guys pistols are incredibly bad. He is doing the repetitions, but look at his standing leg trembling. Knee instability in exercises like this demonstrate a lack of practice in some important areas. Not only the major muscle groups deserve attention. If you cannot perform a one-legged squat or pistol with a stable knee you should not do it. This can potentially damage the ligaments in the knee, so watch out.
It is not only about balance, I've seen people with good balance, but still having shaky knees when it comes to exercises requiring more strength and/or over a greater range of motion. His knee is shaking because of overcompensation, resulting from a reflex. The leg sways right, the reflex sends the muscles an impulse to correct it, but too strong. More balancing exercises would help to fine tune this communication, improving balance.
Knees are not made for this movement and it is damaging.
Not trying to correct by the way, just cautioning people to check their own knees when performing any of these exerscises. Any sideways motion of the knees should always be prevented :)
i did kung fu, then jeet kune do etc.. and it was better than trad karate definitely, but to be honest BJJ/MMA styling these days is where it's at..no bullshit and you learn how to get hit, choked, hurt and accept it..all things often lacking in trad martial arts
not really. JKD was the first MMA theory. BJJ is nothing alone in MMA, just one aspect. As with everything, styles evolve, I do Ju jitsu (not bjj) and I dont see anything in MMA that I dont myself practice, even though its not MMA but ju jitsu. BJJ is basically judo with altered rules, but judo is still a traditional art. Plus you should learn all that in all martial arts, the only place I havnt seen it all learned is tae kwon do
There were loads of MMA theory before JKD. MMA is western, go have a look at how the boxer Braddock taught Allied soldiers to fight in WW2. Or any western self defence course taught in the past 200 years, chances are it is mma.
JKD was the first to suggest that you take from all and use only what works, all previous arts that mixed only used a specific number of arts. Eg sambo is judo and kickboxing, nothing else, JKD is just that but far far more in depth
No im really really not. Give me an example of a defence instructor before the JKD theory who used similar principles and Ill take it back as I'm only going off my own knowledge. Ignorance would be not giving you a chance to prove me wrong. Ideally you would have backed it up already but instead you opted for an insult... and im ignorant... yeh ok
what people think of nowadays as "styles" of chinese martial arts are really a mishmash of what that particular master deemed effective or not. We've all heard of "tiger-crane" for example, another is choylayfut, which combined techniques from 3 different schools
And if you go a little bit further into history, General Qi Xiguang wrote a millitary manual with 32 moves he deemed most effective from several different contemporary styles.

Why ?
Akaoushi 2 years ago
0_0 i dont know where to begin explaining.
lets begin with gravity. then weight.
sickofdao 2 years ago
Or you can begin with a gradual build up 5 finger push ups and over the course of a few years getting to one finder push ups.
Might take a little work.
Akaoushi 2 years ago
dammm did u say a few years????
youngboxer89 2 years ago
Yes, anything worth doing is worth doing well.
In martial arts improvement should be measured over time, years not months.
Akaoushi 2 years ago 2
yes it takes years to practice a dicipline or to master a technique for example i have been doing boxing for 6 years but how could u say it would take years to make an improvement from 5 finger to 1 finger pushups. i remember i wasnt able to do 1 pull up b4(i coulndt carry my own body weight) but 3 months of practices i was already able to do sets of pullups each set i could do 10,when 3months earlier i coudnt even do 1
youngboxer89 2 years ago 2
Because as soon as you say it takes years to learn something most people will back off because they lack the discipline.
and 2nd by saying it will take years to achieve a certain skill means you won't be in a hurry and hurt yourself in the process.
Too many people push way too hard and end up hurt, example pro athletes with bad knees when there in there 30's.
they pushed too hard too fast and did not allow themselves to heal.
Akaoushi 2 years ago 4
ohhh well thanks for your feedback
youngboxer89 2 years ago
Your welcome I hope my little point of view helped.
Never be in a hurry to learn you have your whole life to get good at martial arts.
Akaoushi 2 years ago
Saying it takes years can kinda take away the motivation though, its best to set really small goals, and achieving them often will boost your confidence
One chinup more a week was my goal, and I went from 9 to 21 in just a summer (didnt quite make it =P)
hyenahunter 2 years ago
That's good, one thing I was trying to get at is that a gradual build up over years also has one major benefit.
everything is strengthened, so there is less chance of injury from pushing too hard too soon.
Look at pro athletes and how many have bad knees so early in there career. ?
Akaoushi 2 years ago
depends on how fast you push yourself to do it. If you can only do like 20 reg pushups and you try to jump into fingers, yeah it can be bad. But if you work into it slowly, it can be an amazing thing

what people think of nowadays as "styles" of chinese martial arts are really a mishmash of what that particular master deemed effective or not. We've all heard of "tiger-crane" for example, another is choylayfut, which combined techniques from 3 different schools
And if you go a little bit further into history, General Qi Xiguang wrote a millitary manual with 32 moves he deemed most effective from several different contemporary styles.

i think styles is more due to politics , trying to gain status by getting more students and stuff

NO WAY! Bridge with a person standing on top of you?!?! Whew...That's strength, bro.
And that's how an ab roller SHOULD be used.

good thing they used the anorexic guy to stand on him this time. In the first video they had a sumo wrestler, and well, let's just say "there are some things you see that you can't unsee."
