Randy was never a great fighter, mediocre at best. His rep, and also liddells were built on hype and Marketing. Ortiz too. They are all b level fighters, and that's the truth. They did help build the Ufc, but now we are starting to see the best Fighters in the "World".

Nothing against a good bum fight because they can be entertaining, but the UFC is just now getting great fighters in their ranks the last couple of years. Jones at same time has long limbs 84 inches which is hard to adapt but mix in wrestling he is very tough and unique challenge for anyone.

I am a randy fan but times are changing and I will still root for randy, but hold no illusion that this is an up hill battle for him.

what a good trailer. You gotta think that Couture is the favorite because Lyoto is a great Karate expert but is pretty much a specialist. I love both of these guys. I HAVE to root for RANDY. Machida frusterates people, and they beat themselves. Randy Couture will press and press and press. Knocking him out is the only way to stop him. Either way, I'm still PISSED about the Machida Rampage fight. Machida, butchered Rampage.

@ACIDOCEAN1 I seriously don't get it. EVERY FIGHT Randy Couture has people underestimate him. "Randy is good, but there's no way he can beat Liddel/Ortiz/Vitor/Gonzaga/Silvia/Gonzaga." He's shocked the world before, and outlasted guys way younger than he.

@sanoichiro because times are changing, a different breed of fighters have come out since randy time. All the guys you named are the past, randy's last great fight was Tim, since then he hasn't had a good win. Gonzaga is gate keeper at best, Vera fight was mostly roman greco lay n pray, coleman and toney were easy wins for just about anyone in top 10. I am a randy fan but times are changing and I will still root for randy, but hold no illusion that this is an up hill battle for him.

@sanoichiro machida kicked randy's tooth out and cracked him so hard that he thought he was ko'd by a punch. now you see the wide gap between an average fighter like randy who was "given" title shots to someone like machida who's among the elites and had to work for his title shot. sylvia was only champ of a weak hw div at the time. liddel was a good win for randy. tito sucks. gonzaga's mediocre. vitor sucks. machida is a true karate master with solid striking, clinch work, ground game, td etc..

i love captain america and respect him for serving in the ARMY thats what helped him become a UFC fighter but no doubt the DRAGON is the better man here!! i see an awesome fight but that i wanna see is GSP beat fake shields cause clearly they gave him the fight for free. martin kampmann beat him dead on but judges rule fake won. what a good trailer. You gotta think that Couture is the favorite because Lyoto is a great Karate expert but is pretty much a specialist. Then you have Couture's specialty which in my opinion is the fact that he is an amazing strategist and prepares better than anyone. Look back on his Tim Sylvia fight where he stood and banged and pretty much put on a boxing clinic. All of his fights he learns skills to attack his opponents decisively

i think when you fight the dragon you have to do what Shogun did and just go right through him. The only way Randy wins this fight is if he gets him on the ground.
