I just rode the Amtrak Heartland Flyer. When we went through here I noticed that the bridge piers, metal bridge and Trestle had been torn down and removed. All thats left is the highside of the right of way embankment with track left on that section. another piece of history lost. 02/06/2010

Excellent video! Just think how many people are going to want to watch this in the future to see what it was like when the trestle was in use. I hope they are able to keep this piece of history in tact.

Why was the engine making that horrible screeching noise in the first part of the video. Have heard them do this before and always wondered why.

That's the wheel flanges scraping on the inside edge of the rails in a tight curve. Gets pretty noisy at times.

How many of you ever rode your bicycle across that trestle as a kid. It was around 1990 for me. Always scared of heights, but that was something else. It was almost like a thing you were supposed to do as a kid.

Very cool video. I drove around Ardmore and explored it a few months ago. I was very curious about these trestles. Good work documenting this history.
