I've seen several origins, but the most common is definitely Hebrew.
The meaning of the name Zara is 'Glorious Dawn', or in Hebrew 'Princess' and in French Light / "radiance".

actually I think my name comes from Arabic "Zahra".. which means flower or blossom.. I think it is the same in Farsi, isn't it? ;)
