Am I correct in think this is a buffer amp mod. Also, does it help protect SIDs? If so... kickass! I'm currently modifing 5 different C64s. Basic cleanup / fixup. I also installed a sid2sid board in one C64 already and use it with Mssiah. But, I've already fried a sid filter... Argh! And, I though I was protected using a ground loop isolator. Anyway, any help concerning SID protection would be super appreciated. Thanks! -Sean

So if your running out of a mono output,whats the purpose of the second output?
That sounded like stereo to me.
Also.where did you get schematics for the 2 audio outs.Im about to install a SID2SID,but the installation guide only has plans for one output.Also how did you get it so quiet.No hum.?

dude that isnt an amp on the sid to sid and it is important. dont run audio direct from sid chips enless you want to kill your sid chips at the first back spike or static discharge. (research sid output protection) remove that metal box in the way and install the transistor on the top of the sid2sid for clearence.

like hell it's not.. it's an ouput amp for the second sid that gets installed next to the original. And if you did your homework on my output mod you'd realize it's a protected output via output caps and an entire op-amp gain stage.

yes if you want to get technical it is a transistor emitter amp. the word amp being a somewhat fallacy in application but mathematically its almost relevant. and yes i was unfamiliar with your nes mod but that has nothing to do with internal ESD. with the 6567's housing right there youll find out as i did that it needs to go,ive fried several sid chips doing the equivalent of what you are doing. an i know it sux ass, I wish someone told me before i fried my sids, or got spazing potentiometers.

whats the software running on the screen? through the c64? looks interesting, i used to have 2 old c64s & over 5k games, i let one run simcity for a month without overheating/locking! is the software on the net somewhere? great stuff
