Was it a running attic fire? From the limited info I get from the video, it appears the actual units were clear upon arrival. I'm assuming it was a common attic?
@sirhcdeer they have a common attic but there were firewalls every 4 units. No one had to be rescued but we had to let a couple of people know the building was on fire...
As of Wed. AM, News 14 lists the cause as electrical - part of the reason the RFD didn't start spraying water right away.
IF YOU LIVE IN AN APARTMENT AND YOUR LIGHTS/APPLIANCES OR ELECTRONICS START TO FLICKER (ESPECIALLY IF YOUR SURGE ARRESTOR ACTIVATES) - CALL PROGRESS ENERGY IMMEDIATELY! The same thing ALMOST happened farther down Avent Ferry in January and I called. The words from the PE lineman were, "You saved the building from burning."
@dieselscience the reason we did start spraying right away....the electrical issue had nothing to do with it. We started attacking the fire as soon as the first engine stretched out the line and went inside. They crews backed out because we went to a defensive attack with the ladder truck because the fire was starting to get ahead of us.
@stickwelder2005 I have to say you guys did a great job battling this one! I am no fire expert but it seemed to me it could have easily spread to the building next to it if not brought under control. What was lost can be replaced and the best news is everyone made it out safely including the 2 cats. Great work RFD!

@stickwelder2005 So, you are saying the cause is NOT electrical. BTW I don't know what truck you were in but I know what I saw....
