Also, in 1974, the Soviets changed the configuration of their rifles to fire the 5.45x39mm- which is a sucky round.. ( THEY should have at least necked it to a 6mm with an 80 grain bullet) Fired both 30s and 5.45s

7.62x51 = NATO designation for .308, used mainly in NATO battle rifles and MMGs.
7.62x39 = Shortened cartridge from the Ruski's WWII Nagant rifles, used in the SKS, AK-47, and LMGs like the RPD.
7.62x63 = .30-06, full-power cartridge, pretty much phased out of use for the .308 except in some sniper rifles IIRC.
None are interchangeable.

@Pagansniper The AK and its variants take what is known as the 30 caliber short.. Some tend to think that the thirty caliber is limited to the 7.62x 51 Nato or the 30-06.
Also, in 1974, the Soviets changed the configuration of their rifles to fire the 5.45x39mm- which is a sucky round.. ( THEY should have at least necked it to a 6mm with an 80 grain bullet) Fired both 30s and 5.45s

There are some AK variants that do fire the 7.62x51mm round. Saiga, Valmet, IMI, Vepr, and Mitchell Arms make them. Saiga also makes a model that fires 30-06 (7.62x63mm).
I'll give you credit in the fact that you didnt resort to your usual childish bullshit but I already know all this stuff.
