Well, I guess if you have never been to public school you can't really judge it. Speaking as a public school graduate, it does suck, and my parents were looking for alternatives, but none really existed.
Have you ever been to public school? You don't have to eat the food, there isn't a huge amount of work, there's plenty of variety in the curriculum, etc. Did you choose to be homeschooled or did your parents decide? Just wondering.
Not really, your sentence structure was kind of confusing...
But here are a couple points:
1.) The military doesn't count as a good college.
2.) If your parents just give you straight A's on your report card does that mean you can go to an Ivy League university? Here, I'll answer that one, NO!
i wish i could be homeschooled my paernts say that im crazy for thinking of being hoemschooled and i hate goign to scholl everymoring and my teachers dont knwo hwo to teach
Yes, I agree. I really do miss the metal detectors, drug-sniffing dogs, and all those fascinating lectures on venereal diseases. They got rid of recess long ago, whew, what a relief! Now that I'm homeschooled, I have go outside and get "fresh air." I really miss school! Help!
Haha...I remember those things, but I always hated recess. Yeah, maybe public school's not so great, but I wouldn't have had any friends if I didn't go to school, so I'm glad I did.
Well, let's see: socializing with friends, having adult role models other than mom and dad, special elective classes in high school, extra curriculars like sports and drama, lots.
I socialize with friends, I have many adult role models other then my parents, I can take any outside the home classes that I want. All that, and I get to see my family more, I get higher test scores, and I don't have a barbed wire fence around my school.
Okay, but barbed wire fences? I think I've only seen maybe one inner-city school with one, but that's not the norm. At my high school, our test scores were pretty high. There were many kids who scored nearly perfect on the SAT and got into Ivy League colleges. Perhaps its the area I live in, because they aren't many homeschoolers here so I wouldn't have met any friends if I didn't attend school.
Andybob, how did you and your parents decide to start homeschooling? I'm just curious, because when I was in school, my parents were always trying to find another option instead of public school.
that's great! we love homeschooling..it has been such a blessing....yes, it's work, but I would never put my children back in the public school. they are fabulous, now. ...Can't risk it.. :)
