I don't know how Waddy can contain himself being that close to Stevie, than again how does anyone contain themselves in her presence, man or woman. She is fucking unbelievable!
@eastbend99 Whatsa matter? He too skinny for you? That's Waddy Wachtel. Wiki the guy. Just for kicks. I really don't think Keith Richards woulda got him to play guitar for his solo band if the guy sucked.
@badfish1111 Ha just saw this. "Too skinny for me"? No idea what that question means. And no idea who the guitarist is either; never heard of him. No offense, just sharing my thoughts. But I'm familiar the song with Tom Petty, not this guy. Maybe he's a good guitarist, but his singing is awful. That's what I was referring to...:)
I saw her do this in Concert, St. Louis, 7/83, & Oakland, 10/82; she & her band were just awesome!! Waddy Wachtel seriously wails in this vid, & he did so in both Perf.'s; awesome guitarman. Stevie was just too hot for words. Wolfsky9, 63 y/o, & Rockin On, Forever.
I love the look she makes at :33 it's like... What AM I suppost to DO? She doesn' t do that anymore, those eyes were so expressive and tough. I miss this Stevie, but our Stevie today is wise, leanered, and gorgeous! They just seem like two different people, to an extent...
I agree, I just love all of her expressions in this concert. Of all the concert footage of Stevie that's out there this is my favorite by far. Stevie at her very best!
I agree. I love Stevie to death but the song isn't*right* without Tom. This was on my recommend list though. On the other hand, always a good morning hearing Stevie live.
This is a very good version of this tune. Nice to see Stevie straight and in control. So slim too. FM is coming here towards spring but I am not interested in seeing them. It would be quite disappointing I'm certain. Will always remember Stevie and FM from their early days.
she looks great hear, I wish she put this kind of wackyness into her voice now like she did back then....now a days her voice seems to stay the same tone and does not as good, I know she older but still it would be nice to see that side again
Yes Stevie has been through the mill but with a life and career like that at age 59 who hasn't. She's all the wiser now and I can not stand negative comments about her, remember she is a real person. Also your comments about Her and FM and Lindsy I don't think he could stand all of the success she was having and how she basically was FM, they did fine touring with out Lindsey but they did not do to good with out her, Fm with out Stevie forget about it!!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
For rizzle....she looks like a poster child for an 80's cokehead skank!!! Funny though, I prefer this look over her "CAUTION: WIDE LOAD" look she's sporting these days....
And steal it he did, well not so much steal it as completely earn it, because he was the most talented of the 2, hardcore Stevie fans would disagree, and this will get several thumbs down by them, but the truth hurts.
To be honest i don't think either is more talented then the other. They brought out the best in eachother. As Stevie herself said, he took her songs and made them beautiful. Going the other way, Lindsey struggles as a songwriter when she's not around. His solo career is a sham, i mean "Trouble" "Go Insane" please.
Yeah, but only Lindsey fans get where Lindsey's coming from, to me, and whatother Lindsey fans are in existence, Lindsey's solo career is a gift, eg 'Countdown'.
Also, I think he does just fine without her around, his guitar skills 'ignite' wherever he is.
For sure i agree, he is one of the most underrated guitar players around, as is his producing talents. I was talking song writing in particular, which seem to have so much more passion and depth with the band.
Mind you while i love stevie (her kind of music is more to what i respond) I think FM as a band blew anything her Lindsey or Christine did solo wise. Although they're a couple of AWESOME tracks on Christine's latest... :)
PT 2: His shining moment was "Go Your Own Way". She being around, as a muse or working with him helped him create his best stuff. Stevie on the otherhand is not just a singer but an entertainer. Thats why her solo career is such a success, while Lindsey has to have FM around for him to ignite his brilliance.
I don't know how Waddy can contain himself being that close to Stevie, than again how does anyone contain themselves in her presence, man or woman. She is fucking unbelievable!

Waddy Watchell. He's been playing with her since the start of her solo career i believe. He's also worked with Tracy Chapman among plenty of others.

She must have had enough of an alluring guitar player (Buckingham) stealing her stage presence -- hence, she chose a humpy looking one (Watchel).
