if people don't want to deadlift, who the fuck cares? Why are people so obsessed with what other people are doing or not doing? Want to deadlift? Cool. Doesn't mean everyone else has to. I used to be guilty of this bullshit supremacy attitude, but it's fucking horseshit considering regardless if you deadlift or not, you're going to die and rot into the ground anyways. Thus, everyone is equal as time approaches infinity, which you will most likely die before the convergence. Q.E.D.
This way everything becomes relative. You can just stop school and training and working. Because eventually we will all rot and die. So it does not matter if you get a nice house, good degree, big physique... The end is just the same..

We dead-lift and squats heavy because it’s not only a rush, shows you’re not a pussy and that you have balls but also because it’s the most functional, efficient lifting you can do. Real men have deadlines, lives and other shit to get done.
The gym is a place of function. That function is to provide us more energy and mental clarity to be better at our good jobs,to be a better husband/boyfriend, perhaps fuck more or play morewith our kids - whatever you’re goals are.

Typical guys and showing off their chest and biceps to chicks, doing bench presses and bicep curls on a regular basis, and no other exercises. Doing just chest and biceps doesn't mean shit when it comes to developing a proper physique, all that may even affect overall body strength. That's why I always hit every body part, & for the record, I used to work out to try to get chicks, now that's not really my reason anymore; it's to keep strong and in shape. Oh, and this was clever and witty lol!
Barbell curls aren't allowed to be done in the squat rack at the gym I go to, thank christ. Surprisingly enough, though, people actually do squat where I go to, so I use the power rack anyway when needed.

doing squats isnt going to get you jacked, there are better exercises for working the quads (front squats, leg press variations) and better exercises for hammies (stiff legged deadlift, lying leg curls) and doing em doesnt solidify you as a bamf
Just make sure you get a trainer or do your research. Cause while its true deads and squats stimulate the most muscle fibers, they are also extremely dangerous if done with improper form.

Thanks for the hint. You seem like a real fountain of knowledge, can you please direct me to the exercise that you feel is better than squats or deadlifts? Perhaps a good set of high-rep concentration curls or a few minutes on that hip adduction machine will do the trick.
The only legitimate answer you could possibly have is olympic clean and jerks, and those are completely dependent on what your goals are. Dynamic exercises such as that will not be as effective at putting on shear muscle mass.
I was watching olympic lifters, they do TWO fucking lifts!!! have you seen the size of those guys?? They're HUUUUUGE. You want to build for size, do some real exersices. Shut the fuck up and squat!
Actually, it's pretty universally known (at least amongst EVERY SINGLE powerlifter and, any bodybuilder worth 1/10 his pathetic weight) that squats are indeed the key to everything. I used to disagree and say the deadlift, I was wrong (not by much) but, I was wrong. Every lift you do will benefit from the squat. It may not be our favorite lift, but.....without it nothing will be as good as it would be with it. It simply works too much at the same time.
