Haha oh wow, how anybody thinks this game is anything but abominable is beyond me.

The only mechanics that are realized and interesting in this game are the insanity and health systems. Otherwise? Shooting has absolutely no place in a Lovecraftian game. Stealth is broken as fuck and similarly out of place. Puzzles are trivial shit.

Utter trash, but at least Amnesia exists.

@LiamNeesonsDick Shooting does stick out like a sore thumb, but considering that most of the shit you face doesn't die with bullets it does work. Stealth is hilarious though. It was amazing to hide behind a box and become invisible to the silly fishmen. Even so, stealth is pretty fitting. You are being chased by a bunch of fish people after all.

The puzzles were pretty tricky on the first run though. Heck even on the second run i made mistakes that turned out fatal.

Yeah, but if anything, shooting should have been *extremely* limited. I mean, the player should get a start with a pistol and get no additional ammo, be able to find a revolver with little ammo, and maybe a shotgun. That would have been believable, but shooting Deep Ones with a fucking tommy gun? Oh god that was retarded.

I do admit, stealth was at least funny, but I found it much more frustrating than hilarious on my first playthrough.

Stealth may be fitting, but its execution was not.

Stealth in, say, Amnesia is fairly limited because of the unpredictable enemies.

Chase scenes are well executed because it's you, a fast creature, and some dark hallways.

Stealth in CoC? Basically a maze with moving obstacles.

Chase scenes in CoC? Trial and error platforming and haphazard doors.

Ok, I warned you. What happens is a couple of Yithians enter your time (their own placetime is on Earth roughly 150 million years ago) to 'take over your body' in order to study your time. During this time, Jack is in turn placed in the travelling Yithian's body. He doesn't remember this when he wakes up, though, so it makes the last 6 years look like amnesia.

@PixieStixxandAdderal All the COD games over-rated. It hasn't changed at all in the past years, though I have my reasons to believe that this applies of most generic FPS games. I could go on about how annoyingly short the SP Campaign is and how the story is pretty much non-existent and how they haven't changed anything, but it hardly matters. It'll still be needlessly popular.

That said, this is only my opinion. The rant is over. Sorry about that.

@LookieHippie No prob, Bob. I enjoy the game as an action piece, not as a game driven by plot or length. Pac-Man's got no plot. It's amazing. There are shorter games that I've enjoyed thoroughly. Can't think of many names, though. They've changed as much as they needed too, the same way that the Tetris series has, and like the Tetris series, they always add something special in to make the game interesting. CoD2 was still the best, though.

What FPS would you recommend, if you'd tell me?

@PixieStixxandAdderal Sure, a short SP isn't necessarily bad. Portal 1 and 2 were good, but they also were fun. And Tetris isn't a series as much as it is a re-hatch, Pac-Man doesn't act like it has a plot, MW2 does. At least Battlefield 3 improved the game graphically, if nothing else.

As for FPS', I've always been a Valve fan, so all their stuff. Love the Bioshock series. Heard Battlefield 3's good, Prey 2 seems cool. Umm... that's all that comes to mind right now. :)

@LookieHippie Damn, Bioshock SERIES? Sorry, the second one pissed me off. The prototype big daddy has the ability to use guns, making him more capable than his finished versions. Why the hell didn't they do the finished ones like that? FUCK. Other than that, Bioshock 2 felt unnecessary. The end of Bioshock was supposed to be the total end of the entire story. I was talking about the first one and Infinite. As you said, Bioshock 2 was unnecessary, so I pretty much act like it didn't exist. However, it wasn't the worst game ever, the story just didn't make any sense. It was just, well, a cash in. I'm used to those. *shrug*
