maybe if he wore the damn thing he would do his job as commander in chief, such as get our troops out of iraq and make our economy better for the american people.
Flags do MORE then represent a certain region (country). Flags are a sign of patriotism. Why do we face flag during the Pledge of Allegiance? To show honor and respect to the region? No. We face the flag to show honor, respect, and patriotism.
So seeing Obama not wanting to wear the flag pin (flag pins contain a flag fyi) shows how anti-American he is. Nuff said.
Actually it does not. I called it region because countries are "imagined communities." The same principle applies to banners (military and non military). Banners are used to differentiate one unit or institution from another. That is why they were created. People just add feelings to image of a flag.
Countries are "imagined communites?" The last time I checked, the countries of the continents exists. Afgan, Israel, Iran, Turkey, the U.S..... they exist. When you used the word "imagined" to me it has the same application as an imaginary friend.

Or when he denied saying that he could use some education on economic issues?
Or when he denied saying that victory in Iraq would be "easy"?
@Feathersandploom It's just a pin? It's much more than JUST a pin, it is our country's flag which represents our freedom. If you don't like the USA and you don't enjoy our freedom, then get the hell out of American, and take your idiot friend Obama too.

Wow, a reply from something I posted 6 months ago... weird. I'm not going to argue with you about Obama's lack of patriotism. His actions speak for themselves.
Whatever you say, brother. Just feel free to be a man and ask John McCain why he doesn't wear one himself.
Or are you afraid that you won't like what you hear if you did ask, so you're just going to attack Obama's "lack" of patriotism due to his lack of a flag pin while avoiding McCain's lack of flag pin as well.
How am I going to ask McCain anything? Write him a letter? That would make me more of a man? Afraid of his answer? Afraid? C'mon, man. Take a pill. The election is over. Let's just wait and see what happens. If you seriously doubt McCain's patriotism, then you, sir, are a moron.
Yeah, come to think of it, it might be too much back breaking labor for you to go to John McCain's website and click on the column that says send a message to Senator McCain.
Tell you what, I'll go ahead and write him this question for you: Respectable Senator McCain, why did you continue to not wear a flag pin knowing your supporters were criticizing Senator Obama for his lack of a flag pin? I'll post his response, if and when I get it. In the meantime, ask yourself that same question.
Knock yourself out. It is funny how you changed the topic from Obama's lack of patriotism to some sort of issue you have with McCain... Typical liberal. Obama not wearing a pin isn't why he lacks patriotism. He lacks patriotism because he is not a patriot. McCain is a proven patriot. Also, I've seen McCain wear the pin, if that matters to you, on many occasions. Check your facts. Now...Begone!
Gee, that's pretty weird, cuz he showed up to all three debates with what must have been a see through flag pin. And come to think of it, every rally he held during his campaign he appeared without his flag pin pin. Weird. I guess he arrive show in your dreams to show he has one.
And ya know what, you right, Obama is unpatriotic. And he lacks patriotism because....uh, fill me again on how he has displayed a lack of patriotism. By not being from John McCain and Sarah Palin's "Real America"?
Just remember, it is because of patriots like McCain that you have the freedom to post stupidity on the internet. I don't have the time or inclination to educate a brainwashed, apologetic, fooled socialist such as yourself.
When did I ever question the validity or the authenticity of John McCain's military service or his POW days? As the son of a Gulf War veteran, I would never do that. I am perfectly aware of the sacrifices the military makes for American freedom. I do question how 5 years as a POW translates into President of the United States, as did McCain's fellow veteran, Wesley Clark. Maybe if you'd wake up, you'd realize the "Military" and "Republican" are not synonymous, nor are "Democrat" and "Socialist".
Also, are you noticing all of the blatantly insulting things your throwing at me? You've called me brainwashed, apologetic, socialist, and basically said that John McCain's POW days entitle me with the right to shut the hell up. I'm just question your logic and those who think like you, which I'm sorry to have to say, is both un-American and anti-intellectual.
I suppose you'll write me back more cuss words, and I'll write you back the same question until I get an answer.
Well, you're compliments are most appreciated. Nice to see that there are people on YouTube not blinded by the ridiculous pseudo-patriotism that is the flag pin.
Epic Win? Are you referring to my ongoing debate with crossface691?
It's funny, because I notice that the Right likes to attack, but they never actually answer any valid questions.
Considering the country is in the shitter and about to enter a major recession - that's to Mr. Bush's grudge against the "men who tried to kill mah daddy" I can't believe the major issue here was that Obama didn't wear a freaking pin.
You just can't argue that much stupid. You really can't.
Indeed, the country's heading head first into a recession (or, rather, we've been in one since last Christmas), gas is completely out of control (or at least, it was, right up until election day when it dropped like a stone; I guess when Newt Gingrich advocates immediate offshore drilling, the oil companies pull a reverse-Scrooge), the war rages on with no end in sight, and the issue of the day is a flag pin that McCain doesn't wear either, and which was probably made in China, anyway.
Too true, because, you know, if I were in Iraq right now, in 130 degree heat, staring down enemy fire, clenching my weapon with my sweaty palms, spending every waking moment praying to Jesus that I and my fellow soldiers survive our tour and live to return to our homes and families that we love more than life itself, the thing I'm primarily concerned about is not what kind of life my leaders have made for me once I get out of the service, but whether my leaders have a flag pin on their lapel.
As a passionate Catholic who considers himself a student of all religions, I can safely say you read my mind.
And here's a crazy idea; an IQ test to hold public office. That concept would certainly have put to rest the very notion of a Sarah Palin administration long before John McCain's calculated, irresponsible, unbelievably callous selection of her as his running mate.
If he tried, John McCain could not have made a more easily seen through decision in his campaign. My Poli-Sci professor said Palin was a Hail Mary - she was either gonna be very right or very wrong.
I, too, felt that her interview (Do you mean the one with Katie Couric?) was like watching someone take a test they never studied for. And considering the flag pin she sported, that makes McCain's lack of one, and his supporters ongoing criticism of Obama's lack of one, all the more questionable.
Where is Hillary's flag pin? Where is McCain's flag pin? Ronald Reagan must have hated America because he did not wear a flag pin. I suppose he was an Islamic terrorist too!
but none of those have made a big issue out of not wearing it and REFUSED to wear it.... thats the difference that some people seem to nbot understand.
Because he refuses to wear a made-in-China flag pin? A FLAG PIN! A replica of the flag. It's not even a real flag according to the flag code. Are you serious? That is your true measure of patriotism - a flag pin.
well fine - if you want to vote in and unpatriotic anti american man that will further ruin america's already trashed reputation - then go ahead - mkyself i want to see America come back and not be seen in the light that it currently is.
The country is in the shitty position it's in now because you "patriot seekers" voted for Bush because you saw him as a more patriotic man than Gore. Who could resist electing a Good-old Texan farmboy??? America's reputation is trashed because of the large percentage of idiots we house and their un-willingness to choose the right candidate based solely on Muslim rumors and ethnicity.
Destroyer of the United States ! Period.

Well, nothing says "patriotism" quite like a cheap plastic lapel pin made by illegal child labor.

You know what else? I also wouldn't care if the soldier standing next to me in battle is a Christian, Athiest, Muslim or Jew.
I'm almost at the point now where I firmly believe you should have to pass an IQ test before being allowed to vote.

I couldn't quite believe it when I watched her first interview.
Was she hired for her looks and to show the good ol' boys that "wimmin" can be in the White House after all - and to try to get the Hilary vote?
You betcha! *wink*
RapscallionRebellion 3 years ago
If he tried, John McCain could not have made a more easily seen through decision in his campaign. My Poli-Sci professor said Palin was a Hail Mary - she was either gonna be very right or very wrong.
I, too, felt that her interview (Do you mean the one with Katie Couric?) was like watching someone take a test they never studied for. And considering the flag pin she sported, that makes McCain's lack of one, and his supporters ongoing criticism of Obama's lack of one, all the more questionable.

drummergirll 3 years ago
I see where Hillary supporters' priorities stand. Foreclosures, health care, Iraq? No, flag pins!
psychoroni 3 years ago
Where is Hillary's flag pin? Where is McCain's flag pin? Ronald Reagan must have hated America because he did not wear a flag pin. I suppose he was an Islamic terrorist too!
psychoroni 3 years ago 2
but none of those have made a big issue out of not wearing it and REFUSED to wear it.... thats the difference that some people seem to nbot understand.
obama is so unpatriotic
drummergirll 3 years ago
YOU are making a big deal about it.
Because he refuses to wear a made-in-China flag pin? A FLAG PIN! A replica of the flag. It's not even a real flag according to the flag code. Are you serious? That is your true measure of patriotism - a flag pin.
psychoroni 3 years ago
well fine - if you want to vote in and unpatriotic anti american man that will further ruin america's already trashed reputation - then go ahead - mkyself i want to see America come back and not be seen in the light that it currently is.
drummergirll 3 years ago
LOL, Not voting for Obama is un-patriotic.
