  • I am a left handed shooter and am tryin to decide which gun to buy: the p22 or the mosquito. It would be my first gun and I have informed myself pretty well about both guns. The main advantage of the p22 is that it is ambidextrous. But I kind of like the SIG better in all other aspects. Eventhough I have never owned a gun, I am a fairly good shot. I ahouldnt have problems with the SIG sights. Would you reccomend this gun based on that information?

    Thanks

  • Hi. I noticed you have more than one magazine. Did you purchase it from Sig Sauer - & if so was it the plastic kind OR was it the metal kind like the one they gave you that comes with the gun when you purchase it? Thank You. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • Nice pistol!

  • can you take of the threaded end cap and put it back on?

  • @vybzshakur, Yes you can. No problem.

  • Theirs nothing wrong with the gun . It's due to the 22 rimfire cartridge . Just about all ! 22 auto's jam .

  • Is that a standard size rail on it ?

Could I put my Surefire X300 on it ?

  • Yes.

  • I have read that this .22 gun jams ALOT? Yours seems fine, why do you think others have problems?

  • It's the ammo. The ammo in the video is the "famous" CCI Mini-mags. Use that, it works fine. The problem with Mini-mags though is that it sort of defeats the purpose of a .22LR pistol in the first place, as it is about 2.5 to 3 times as expensive (or more) than a regular .22LR round. (12-15 cents vs. 4 cents). That's why I like shooting Czech surplus 7.62x39 for 18 cents a round. A lot of bang for your buck. I need a 7.62x25 pistol to shoot surplus now. Supposed to be comparable to .357 SIG.

  • I suppose I should have put "10-15 cents a round", after putting "2.5 to 3". Hard to find Mini-mags that cheap anymore though. It is realistically more like 3 to 4 times. "CCI Standard Velocity" is, strangely enough, another round that works well in Mosquito and other .22LR autoloaders.

  • @Ghostie604

I use federal 40gr in my Sig 22 and it eat's them up no jam's try it.

  • is the sig mosquito better than a walther p22??????????

  • i like the look and feel of the walther p22 better then this but this is prolly the better gun but both are really top of the line but i also like the sig .357 and 9mm better then the walther p99 9mm in shooting combat pistol compatitions. but one thing about the walther's they are SMOOTH i started IDPA with a walther p99 and i actually had to switch guns(357 sig) to slow myself down to work better on tactics then i went to the sig 9mm

  • has anybody seen a .44 cal gun with a silencer on it it looks retarded lol

  • to be honest, i thought it was a toilet seat at first.

  • lol me2

  • hahahhahahahhahhahah me to

  • I really like this gun.. I've been cruising related videos and im considering a buy. No silencers here though :(

  • This gun is awesome...

  • As usual I end up purchasing the same guns as you lol... Any tips for this lil guy?

  • My mosquito will shoot a fist sized group at 15 yards. It is 100% reliable with CCI ammunition. I wish they had thresded barrels when I bought mine.

  • would the sig .22 be the one to go with over the walter p22????

  • i like the walther better

  • walthers handle is very small, and a top heavy gun. but it shoots good, i like the sig because it feels perfect and shoots great.

  • i have a by-tone. Awesome little guns to just go to the range and pump off rounds

  • whats cost

  • pekka gun..

  • Whats that lever you press when you reload a sig? I see it in the movies all the time. When a mag is empty you put a new one in and you press a lever and the slide chambers a new round and your ready to fire again.

  • That lever is called the slide release lever. All semi-auto handguns have it, but it's more "proper" to pull the slide back as he did. This reduces wear on the slide catch.

  • The SIG Mosquito is the best .22 LR fungun on the market. FUNGUN guys FUNGUN! This NOT the best SPORTSGUN!

  • Hello. So overall how would you evaluate the Mosquite? It's important because I am considering purchase. How hard are the mags to load? I have a P22 and love it. Is it accurate, How hard is to to assemble/disassemble and how hard to clean (very important). thanks in advance, Sincerely, JAMES.

  • I don't like the P22 because of the 6 o'clock hold. I do own a Browning Buckmark and I love it!

  • The mags are easy to load. Basically all .22LR mags are single stack, and they usually have a lever you can hold down that stops the follower from coming to the top. Mosquito does. Similar to the P22. It is reasonably accurate. Not as accurate as a Ruger or Browning though. It wil still group nicely though. It is easy to field strip, a little tricky to completely disassemble. It is easy to keep clean. It is a fixed barrel gun. Requires very little oil or grease.

  • which would you preffer for just fun shooting at the range a sig mosquito or a ruger mark III? I also like military looks

  • cant even compare the 2 watch my video of my MK III at 200 yards then go find a video of a mosquito doing the same thing GOOD LUCK the mkIII is a target pistol the sig is not

  • was it easy to reload or which one is easier to reload mosquito or p22? thanks

  • Shitty thing was that the arms dealer granted the sig. for massacrer, but he didn't even had a criminal register until he blasted 8 people including himself, believe me I live in Finland and here has never been that leveled school shootings not even twice last time 1989 where died 2 people by the bullied person

  • The gun works fine with CCI Mini-mags and other quality ammo with some snap to it. If you use cheaper ammo it will have some problems. I don't see durability as being an issue with this design. There is very little wear and tear the way it is put together. Mine shows basically no wear over 1 year of use.

  • Hello. CCI Mini-mags works fine in my mosquito too. CCI Standard Velocity works well also. Remington Thundetbolts, Federal Targets, Lapua Master M's and Eley Pistols dont work at all. Very nice pistol tough. btw, nice vid!

  • It is pretty accurate for a .22LR that is supposed to look and function like a full-calibre autopistol. It is about as accurate as a Walther P22. Less accurate than a Ruger Mk2, or 3 or 22/45, or Browning Buckmark. I just have the two mags that came with it. You can buy more but they are kind of pricey.

  • This was the gun used in school killing in finland, they are only allowed to start off with .22 there and then need other liscences to get to a more powerful cartridge.

  • How would you rate this gun? People claim it has misfeeding problems, and won't last long. Do you agree?

  • Mine is ammunition sensitive and it prefers CCI ammunition. Once that was resolved it is very reliable.

  • It's not just yours, all mosquito's are that way. SIG tests and recommends CCI mini-mag for the mosquito's. They even come with a coupon for it.

That's the downside to the mosquito. But people don't usually use mosquito's to be in shooting competitions. It's a good training weapon, it's got the same setup as a P226 and a hard trigger pull on purpose...it's for training.

An inexpensive way to practice your shooting fundamentals.

  • Hi. you said in your comment that "They even come with a coupon for it." What does that mean. Does that mean you can purchase the mini mags an then redeem the coupons to Sig for cash back?? If so, that sounds likea good deal to me. I am contemplating my next purchase and I might just get the Mosquito. Their mags are pretty pricy though - and I usually purchase a few extra mags for speed loading practice. Could you recommend the Mosquito? Thank You. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • They come from SIG with a coupon for a $10 rebate with 4 CCI Minimag UPCs.

I would highly recommend getting one if you want a good practice weapon. It even has an ambidextrous safety on the slide for safe hand switching during practice. Basically there are 3 models, normal, threaded, and sport. If you could unfathomably want a suppressor down the road get the threaded model. Then you can get the weight for the barrel for the sport version and use it as a thread protector and balance.

  • Where do you get the magazines? What brand are they? Cuz I cant find them ANYWHERE o.0

  • They are on the SIGarms web site if you can't get them from your dealer.

  • wow nice gun is it accurate?
