Yea the frets being slightly closer together does make it a bit easier but that's not the point. I have very large hands and have no problem with any stretches, like I said I just like the wider neck. It's all good, no insult taken.
Kind of cheating playing it with a capo on huh. Does push the string closer to fretboard all the way down huh. In the open position as Tommy does it is much harder I think.
Not really. I have no problem playing it without a capo. Also the action on Tommy's guitar is much lower than on mine so it about evens out. I just like a wider neck so the capo does that for me.
True Tommy uses extra lights strings and a really close action but then for what he is doing it is still amazing playing.
The capo also allows for closer between fret playing. Meaning the stretches are easier. So the action is closer and the frets are closer together. It would have to be easier with a capo then without ... agreed??
The frets get narrower the higher up the board you go. With the ridiculously difficult fingering of this song, it's easier to stretch your fingers, hence the capo
dude, well done!

Hey, giddyopus....not all of us have the technical prowess of Tommy Emmanuel (noone really does) so a capo is fine.....HUH.
Great job man.
