Is Chester a Wire Haired Vizslas. Please watch and reply.

The funky eyebrows look kinda WV. And, when you get the closeup of the face and I looked into his eyes and saw his snout - I saw a Vizsla. I swear. He does have a labby looking body, but have you ever considered a Chesapeake Bay Retriever - WV mix. Chessies have that thick wavy hair on their backs and would mix up nicely with the a WV. Both were specifically bred for water. And Chessies come in blonde, brown and I think black. They look just like labs except thicker wavier hair.

I don't think he is a WV either, but he is a cutie! You might want to cut his nails tho!! That has got to be uncomfortable!!

to calm for a vizsla but brown nose is a vizsla one of the only brown dogs with brown nose. WAY TO CALM but the couriosity is a vizsla and check the paws if they are webbed Vizsla for sure. Wired haired VZs are VERY rare but it possible I say LAB and Vizsla but NOT long haired VZ its just to rare of a dog to go with that choice off the bat.

Thanks for info on the paws. I am pretty sure our chester is a very unique lab mix. He is one of a kind. For Sure! We will never find another chester. He is getting older now, and someday i would love to have another red/brown dog with the brown/pink nose, who is as mellow as Chester. Its a hard color to come by unless i go for a specific pure breed. I am dedicated to adopting from the shelter, as that is where we got chester boy. May get DNA for chester as everyone wants to guess his breed.

A friend on here, told me that i can buy DNA test at petsmart. I may just give it a try. I would love to know chesters bloodline. I am sure he is mostly Lab, but when i look at pictures of Vizsla, i sure see my dogs face. Our goofy boy chester probably has all sorts of stuff in him. He really is so unique. We just love him so much. Thanks for commenting

ok......im thinking hes mutt......maybe a little Vizslas.......but yes i see lab and 1 or 2 other breeds resembling cocker or terrier......i hope this helps a little!!

My guess, your dog is not a wirehaired vizsla. I would guess the dog might have some wirehaired in it. I also see lab or a golden in your dog's background. My parents purchased their first vizsla in 1970's. We had our first wirehaired vizsla in 1980.

Thanks for your reply. Its interesting to hear comments from people who know more about Vizsla breed then i do. Since i posted this question, i have come too the conclusion that our dog Chester probably FOR SURE has lab in him. Which is what we have presumed. But i sure wish we knew what other breed he might be mixed with. Oh well we love him so much, never the less. And i think Vizsla's are beautiful dogs also.

I used to work in an animal hospital, I also volunteered at the humane society, and to me your dog appears to be a labrador mix :D It might have some wiredhair gene in there from another breed like a terrier. But I don't see any resemblance to a vizsla.

I wouldn't say, it has much to do with a wirehaied vizsla. It might, but not necessarily. It is only the facial furnishing (some beard and eyebrows) that make him look like one, but that furnishing can come from any wirehaired breed (like wirehaired german pointer, Iris terrier etc). I definately see the labrador in it. the whole built-up, the hair all over the body and the head shape all reflects the labrador.

This is Chester finishing up his favorite treat and looking for more. Will someone please comment on if they think Chester has Vizslas in him? He was adopted from a shelter, but people are always guessing his breed. Someone seen his picture and told me about the Wire haired Vizslas breed, and everything i read describes our Chester Boy!
