  • How come your game doesnt lag? Mine does, any suggestions?

  • Breaking Rohans morale... Nice job =) When they actually Charge to Death.

  • from the videos of urs that i have watched the only guy u ever play i gimli :/

  • And wargs in the books are just big evil corrupted wolves, I think that Peter Jackson made the choise to represent them like prehistoric Hienas to make them look more demoniac than just wolves. A matter he must regret now that he must make the Hobbit movie and wargs play a very different and important role.

  • Nice battle! Cavalry are not UP but realistic in TATW, in the movies they are completely exagerated. To play well with cavalry you need to make a lot of micromanagement. But Rohan in particular could get a bit of tweaking.

  • Your battles would be good to watch if your framerate didn't suck massive warg cock..... :(

  • What's with this video and people with bad grammer?

  • For those interested, the wargs are wolves with demonic spirits in them, making them much larger and more intelligent. They are even able to speak. In The Hobbit they actually plan together with mountain trolls

  • Youre called Smeagol! :D

  • i like the elves :)

  • dude some guy stole your harad vs rohan game on tatw

  • this a fucking laggy game

  • The truth is that in the main campaign of TATW it may be harder to play with Isengard and get owned by Rohan before the heavier units are available. And even if survived between attacks of elves, eriadorians, rohhirims, Isengard armies may get outnumbered by Rohan. The heaviness will not matter then... Rohan have many settlements and huge territories as well as strong allies (Gondor). Their economy is better (farms, trading with Gondor, etc), while Isengard is on their own.

  • It is interesting to see the battle tactics analysis of Rohan vs Isengard, and how many people claim that Isengard completely own Rohan. If we look at the main campaign of the the Third Age Total War, the Rohan starts with about 8 settlements, while Isengard has only 3. The military advantage is also on the Rohan's side. Advanced units such as heavy uruks, or crossbowmen, or uruk pikes are not available till later stages of the game. Isengard will mainly use basic urukhai and snaga skirmishers.

  • will this game install and run on windows seven?

  • HOW DO U PLAY THIS ONLINE WHAT IS PLAYER PROFILE???!!!!

  • cool fight good attacks

  • Nice video! Keep it up b/c I love LOTR!

  • Isengard is the best faction against rohan cause of there pikes protect the longer ranged xbows, and there wargs destroy roha ncav which is there best unit type.......

also Wargs aren't preistoric hiennas, there a Cross Breed of Wolves, and Hieenas, they are much bigger because of it..

  • @Youralchoholicdaddy Yeah, I know they aren't hyenas ; ) I was just trying to figure out how to describe them to someone who had never seen the movie version of Lord of the Rings. You're right that Isengard does pretty great against Rohan.

  • @Youralchoholicdaddy - yes but u must admit if gondor and the elves and rohan allied ur basically fucked lol

  • @Youralchoholicdaddy if you have seen the 2d movie special features wargs are a breed of wolf, lion, and bear,i think

  • @Youralchoholicdaddy actually in the books they have nothing to do with hyenas. They are corrupted wolves in the same way as Shelob and her like are corrupted spiders. They are supposed to look like wolves but bigger, nastier and intelligent. They're actually supposed to be able to communicate with the orcs too. [/dorkdom]

  • Isengard is the best faction against rohan cause of there pikes protect the longer ranged xbows, and there wargs destroy roha ncav which is there best unit type.......

  • how da hell u play in multy?

  • which faction has the ents?

  • @haanke1 silvan elves i think

  • @majinleoking

thanks i think for the muliplayer you need a key code or something

  • @haanke1 i think maybe u need a valid cd key, or else use hamachi and fight in lan. wish i could kick Scribegamer's but with me using rohan :)

  • @majinleoking

xD ask it we will see

  • see this video and want to play it again great mod

better than the real gmae "battlefor middle earth"

  • Rohan is NOT the home of horselords

  • @chubbyhorsie2 Check my profile, and yes.

  • wargs scribe

  • Worgs are the worst cavalery ever...

  • @xerone10 Yeah, they're not great by any stretch of the imagination.

  • nice battle. Too bad that the FPS drop is realy high becouse of the fraps...

  • @Marcosone1Thanks, and yes -- hopefully these can improve if I ever get a better computer.

  • Isengard's orcs have the coolest armor

  • @haydzoO there not orcs

  • @ROBHUGHES1453 yeah i know they're Uruk-hai

  • isengard is madeto fight rohan, so rohan can never win from isengard.

and i also think rohan has no heavy infantry, am i right?

    poor rohan...

  • @fararob Rohan has an excellent cavalry , but yeah no heavy infantry, they only have militia and the royal body guard of Edoras. I think Rohan is the only kingdom which doesnt have heavy cavalry .

  • Whos the funst guys to be?

  • Make a forest fight, they are nice fights.

  • how do i get the mod for lord of the rings

  • want more but the voice !!!!!!! jezus

  • speak up ffs...

  • Comment removed

  • @darthtater96 Yes, I just used the term hyena to describe what they looked like. They're modeled on the wargs as they appeared in the movies, and the movie producers admitted that they took more inspiration from hyenas. You're right that the original books refer to them as giant wolves.

  • @Scribegamer and in the movie

  • @Scribegamer they are some kind of prehistoric hyenas if you look the word warg in wikipedia...

  • you should make one using rhun

  • @1993Conner I'll try showcasing them next

  • are your graphics setting at high or like medium?

  • Unit detail is usually at the highest, although I sometimes drop the settings for vegetation or certain effects. The game definitely looks better than the video quality here, and runs pretty smoothly when I'm not using FRAPS.

  • @Scribegamer how good does the game look on lowest settings?

because i feel that is the only way i'll be able to play it without exceesive slowdown

  • Gah! I tried installing this, but I bought my copy of MTW: Kingdoms on steam, It's a pain to get this working lol

  • Hah sorry to hear that -- I guess Steam might complicate things, which is unfortunate. I've only ever bought a few games via the service, but never tried modding them.

  • The balrogs is really unstoppable

  • The trolls are pretty tough, and probably one of the best units considering their current cost (too low). For balrogs, check out the latest vid ; )

  • Wow thats a good game with some great commentry. 5/5

  • Thanks!

  • scribegamer you most help me. l have download all the paches and part1 par2 and intall it. wean l start it says:can find kingdoms exe??? what it wrong. can you help me?

  • hey mate! in case you havent found out yet. im not sure what you wrote but it seems you were writing "Cant find kingdoms exe". you need the Medieval 2 total war expansion called Kingdoms to play this mod.

  • mattezh92 is right, you need to get the Kingdoms expansion for this

  • whats the link to get this??

  • Check my profile page

  • i downloaded it noew what??????? I NEDED HELP

  • @barsyha You unzip the files to your main Medieval II drive -- the Third Age forum link should have the full instructions on that in the thread where you got the download links, Catching some zzzs ...

  • @Scribegamer DO 8I DRAG IT ON TO ANY CAMPIAN FROM THE KINGDOMS CAMPIANS AND THAT IS WHAT I CLICK ON TO PLAY THE GAME RIGHT ????????

  • @barsyha Don't do that -- see the instructions I've copied directly from the Third Age download page:

    - Install Part1/Part2, Patch 1.1, Patch 1.2 & Patch 1.3 into the default 'Medievall II Total' War directory. (Installing each means opening the installation applications that should appear once you've unzipped each file)

(Normally this is: 'Programs/SEGA/Medieval II Total War')

  • so when its on to up to the intalliation it would come up were to install it

because im bad with computers were is the :default 'Medievall II Total' War directory

  • ok but do u mean save it when the save option comes

  • Yes, I think you "save it" to the default Medieval II drive. The default drive should be the folder under your C drive that says "Medieval II" (I'm assuming you installed Medieval to C drive, but whatever drive you installed to)

  • @Scribegamer ok then what how do i get the iconm can u make a tourtrail on how to do it

  • So, i save it to the same folder where MTW2 is?

  • Check his channel, it tells you how to download it and then the link! So check it out

  • heyy so im going to get the expansion than can u tell me where to get the mod and how to put it in the game

  • are you american?

  • Yep

  • does this work on steam?

  • Not that I'm aware of

  • what patch are you using in this game?

  • I believe this was the 1.1 patch -- I haven't done any online games with 1.2

  • dude i swear u make the best lotr videos ever!!!!!! can you tell me how this works? so u buy medievil 2 total war and you get this?

  • @dpaul888

You need to buy medieval 2 and it's expansion 'Kingdoms'. This is just a mod for the game, which you can download.

  • @Igopo2nopz

Thanks much for helping out with the reply

  • And thank you!

  • Of course going back to my first post i should have mentioned that cavalry in MTW2 only seem weak if you dont use them in a certain way.

  • Oh by the way i meant the balance online not necessarily against the AI, although most online players, excludng friends and just basic 'fair play' types, usually go for massing something powerful.

  • I suspect the reason that cavalry was a tad underpowered in medieval 2 is for the sake of balance. Afterall some factions had awesome cavalry like France/Poland/Hungary, while others had little to none such as Scotland/Denmark. Actually not sure about denmark. But i know Scotland had decent spears to make up for it.

Strangely my favourite faction from MTW2 was the Moors, they seemed to be very all round with their only weakness being a lack of heavy armoured and professional troops.

  • Yeah, I can understand tweaking cavalry for balance. It's just still a bit weird for me to see spearmen stopping cavalry with spears that barely jut out beyond their shields, while the charging knights have lances that extend pretty far beyond their horses. Pikes I have no problem with.

I never tried playing much with the Moors, but I think your assessment is probably right on.

  • yeh the first time you have won or ;D

  • Hah yeah, this is the only win vid I've posted. I played a series of games with "Gimli," and I had better luck in matches involving Mordor vs. Dale, Eriador vs. Dale, and Rhun vs. Dale. I suppose that says something about Dale ... but in any case, those replays sadly became corrupted when I upgraded Third Age.

  • Are the voices for units correct?or are they base?correct=movie like.

  • Some of the voices recycle Medieval II: Total War voices. But the modding team did a pretty great job with the voices for the orcs and uruks.

  • hhm i never had problems with cav in vanilla. I play timurids online and my favourite tactic is charging my khans guard into infantry then withdrawing and repeating. Here are some tips ;)

    1. When charging have your cavalry in 3 rows. This allows for maximum causalties on impact.

    2. Have your cavalry on guard mode until their charge is over and they get their swords out. then get them out of guard mode and retreat before too many die. having them in guard mode while charging....

  • keeps them in formation so that they all make contact at the same time inflicting maximum causlties.

    3. get your cavalry to walk towards your intended target. this usually leads to your oppenent getting his infantry to charge your cav. when you see this double click on his charging infantry. charging cavalry vs charging infantry = no more infantry :D

    4. charge against clustered infantry. the more infantry there are in one place, the more will die when hit by the charge.

  • charging at units in loose formation isnt very effective and light cavalry are better at dealing with light infantry and skirmishers. I hope this helped :)

  • All great tips, thanks -- I've never tried charging in guard mode, so will have to give that a whirl.

  • i disagree with cavalry in third age being underpowered. They have huge charge bonuses compared to vanilla medieval 2 and so an attack on the back of engaged infantry is always devestating.

  • True, cavalry in vanilla Medieval 2 were criminally underpowered -- overall Third Age is probably better. Still, I've had some weird cavalry issues in "Third Age" before the recent patch, though that may have had more to do with infantry blobbing issues. Basically I surrounded and charged some decimated Morannon Guard and a few other Mordor units from all sides, and my Rohan ended up getting slaughtered -- even when they hit the infantry from the rear. But then again, that's pre-patch.

  • damn. u must have an amazing computer man. good video!!

  • It's a better-than-average HP laptop, although a few years old now and with an outdated graphics card. Thanks though!

  • Hehe, nice battle! I really enjoyed it! :)

  • Thanks, glad you enjoyed the watch!

  • i tried downloading this but i need something else not the 1.1 something else i can get a 40 day trial for so i dident downloaded it cos i had to pay 4 it but i realy whana play it

  • Hmm, you shouldn't have to pay for anything as long as you already own both Medieval II: Total War and its Kingdoms expansion. Third Age is made for the Kingdoms expansion, so all you have to do is Google "Total War Center Third Age" and download directly from the makers' forum.

  • Isenguard's best unit is their pike by the way, very hard to break them, but watch out for their cavalry charges on your pike from the back.

  • Yeah, I guess their pikes act more like the phalanxes of Rome Total War rather than the pikes of Medieval II Total War. I was pleasantly surprised they could take on foot units from the front.

  • You really like evil factions lol...

  • I just agreed to play with the evil factions when I was doing this set of battles against "Gimli." But I won't deny that they are fun : )

  • i only just found u so do more vids please im begging u

  • Thanks, I've got more coming.

  • Nice Video Man Keep Them Coming xD And im downloading this mod now ^^

  • Hmm, not sure what happened to my previous reply here, but thanks! I'll have another involving Mordor up in the next day or so.

  • I haven't played a game similar to this since...

Hmm Rise of Nations of Age of Empires II Conqs.

  • If you're still interested in the RTS stuff, I'd recommend the Total War series (particularly Rome and Medieval II). Empire Total War looks fun, but it's apparently been having a lot of technical issues.
