  • CRT has a response time VERY SOON SO YOU HAVE AN IDEA FOR PLASMA WHICH HAS 0.001MS COPY CTR CTR AND FASTEST GUN IN THE LIGHT OF THE IMAGE THAT BUILDS as if making a line drawn ATRA THE OTHER ONE THERE UNTIL THE END OF SCREEN AND NOT SO FAST THAT YOU DO NOT SEE THAT SO FAST AND NO PLAY MOVIE WOULD NOT FASTER THAN THAT ONLY HAVE EYES THAT HURT CTR PUT AWAY AND HAS MORE LESS SHARP IMAGE FOR MORE REAL COLOUR BLACK AND WHITE OR A MORE REAL I was able PLASMA

  • I see the difference. You can see it as the guy's meleeing. The slo-mo makes it look obvious.

  • Hz and FPS is not the something dumb fucks

  • idiot. YouTube videos are 30fps. It's looking like same.

  • well it looks cool

  • Why would the people bother comparing the two screens when they're two completely different brands? It makes it unfair as the both have different positives and negatives, i.e. Samsung has more true blacks than Dell. If you want to compare 60ghz to 120ghz get two Samsung TVs etc.

  • omg this is sooo cool its like a mily mily second delay get over it

  • @madtomea2k9 Lol I Know Right?

  • Way big difference.

  • what's the name of the song?

    it sounds nice man

  • you can still see some screen tearing on 120hz at 1:50 in video

  • great video , that helped in my choice of getting 120hz monitor . Can I also know the name of this song please ? :-)

  • @Maciek1 Circ - A Reason i think

  • @JeemOfRunescape No, watch?v=XwduTfvpO1o

  • @soultrader7380 if you look under the like/dislike bar on that vid it says The Circ - "A Reason" on:eMusic, iTunes

  • @JeemOfRunescape Whatever it says, it isn't correct, it IS Circ, but it's not "A Reason" it is in fact "Revolution Song" Search it, and it will become evident.

  • @soultrader7380 when i search revolution song it says under the like/dislike bar "Circ - A Reason"

  • @JeemOfRunescape It does, and that is iTunes referral software at work, and it is wrong, I even used Shazam on my iPhone to check, and it comes back as Revolution Song (Tonight, Tonight) Circ also have a song called A Reason, search for it, and listen, it is not this song.

  • Meh....its not the refresh rate that makes a difference in a game its the player.

  • I wanted to know if the 120hz prejudice to work in either 2D or 3D .... or even the 120 Hz are only for the 3D mode? thanks

  • OK PLEASE ANSWER ME PLAESE ok whic id better for call of duty 60 hz or 120 hz please anwser anyone i need to know from some one with experience and i play on ps3

  • @killerkhalsa27

    On ps3? No difference.

  • @robbie189 oh alright thanks

  • Comment removed

  • I can certainly see the difference with my 120hz TFT screen compared to my older 60hz. With 120hz. everything is smoother. I play ArmA 2 with an average 100 fps (outside cities) and I'm glad I have a 120hz now.

With 120hz., most of the time there's no need to use Vsync, the screen tears a lot less with Vsync off compared to a 60hz. screen with Vsync off. Those who make fun of 120hz. screen technology have obviously never tried it. Also, I can play Flight Simulator X in 3D Vision which rocks.

  • theres no point watching this video because i have 72hz refresh rate, cant spot the difference. but just so you guys know , 120 hz is fucking smooth and different compared to 60 hz. i know a friend who owns a 120 hz monitor and he says its amazing.

  • It also depends on the game you are playing. The most motion blur I have ever seen in a video game is the Resistance 3 beta.

  • oh look, its fucking nothing. enjoy justifing how you just wasted hundreds of dollars on a 120hz lcd.

  • The freeze frames doesn't show anything beside the interlacing artifact from the camera.

  • can you work on 120hz not while using 3d mode?

  • @DaMaster1983 sure

  • @gamingtweaks if 120 doesnt lag im goin with that. ps is it the system's fault if the picture lags or the monitors?

  • @gamingtweaks true, ive got less power than yoou. pc is just too expensive for me. im only 15. im gettin a new sammy soon. it can switch between 60 and 120 so i can choose what is like best

  • You can't really see a lot of difference here on this video, but I've got this monitor and it's just like a different world for lcd gaming. It's just so fucking smooth 120hz all the way.

  • @gamingtweaks i've played xbox 360 on 60 hrz tvs for years and i dont really see how itcould get any smoother. also, is there even a LITTLE bit of lag on 120hrz?

  • you probably wont see the difference really good because this video is shot with a 30 or a 60 fps camera. no doubt

  • Since there aren't any 2560x1600 120Hz monitors, is the gaming experience better with a 1920x1080 120Hz monitor or is a 2560x1600 60Hz more enjoyable? Opinions? Thoughts?

  • @justainchoe i find that 1920X1080 120hz is more enjoyable because the change from 60 to 120 hz is so much more extensive than 1920X1080 to 2560X1600. the only reason i would pick the higher res over refresh rate is if i had a 60+ inch screen. get a 120hz monitor and you will agree

  • can u run 3d vision on a 60hz monitor i know 120hz is what they say u shoul have but as i see it it would be 30fps each eye and for me thats enough

  • @BassPounderX thats not exact... cuz you have something called frame lost... wich means that if you have 120 fps your eyes/brain will work better to understand what are you seeing, you will see less gaps... (Sorry the bad english)...

  • EXPLICAÇÃO:

sim claro 120Hz contra 60 Hz ¬¬ obivio que vai ser melhor não importa a marca

obs : NÃO IMPORTA A MARCA SENDO 120 OU 240 hZ A TV É FODAAA

da um joinha pra avisar o pessoalll

  • hehe..this guy has the EXACT same logitech 4400 4.1 400 watt total sound system i have had for the past 7 plus years. good boom boom juice :D

  • even if you dont bother with 3d glasses are these 120hz monitors loads better than 60hz? Why untill now have they not bothered with a higher than 60hz refresh rate for hd pc monitors? my old iyama 19" lcd would go upto 75hz. why are large hd monitors been limited to 60hz. hd lcd tvs have been able to display 100hz

  • @210482fmj Yes 120hz is still better if you dont use 3D. The reason why the standard is 60fps is because they couldent fully make the 75hz good enought,

  • Ok so if you are running 120hz and the framerate of a game drops does it mean it will seem less noticeable because of the addition of more frames to smooth things out? Or is the difference negligible compared to 60hz unless run in slow mo like in this video?

  • Youtube reduces all videos to 30fps. You need an expensive camera to film in 120fps, then extend the high fps footage timeline to display ALL frames at a rate of 30fps. Search "CX 550 slow mo" on here to see what I mean. This vid is a bad attempt to show the benefit of 120hz technology, now I understand why there's idiots claiming it makes no difference. It's like night and day, you have to see it in person. Don't be stupid people. Until someone films it right you won't see benefit through here.

  • @UbiquitousComplacenC I hope people vote your comment up. Just imagine a monitor without the blurring when you drag a window or moving you mouse, thats how 120hz monitors would feel.

  • @UbiquitousComplacenC he is right, u do got to see it in person. My friend who plays on pc is always in awe every time he uses my pc.

  • @UbiquitousComplacenC i see a difference in picture quality =)

  • what speakers are those is that logitech!!! please tell me.....

  • The contrast is so smexeh

  • the only place on this video you will notice a difference is during the slowmotion. great vid . cant wait to get my 27 inch 120hz asus. i miss crt refresh rates

  • What are people talking about the difference between 120hz vs 60hz is practically virtually unnoticeable at least when it comes to gaming.

  • @DreamStepper that is because you have never played a FPS game on a computer with a monitor capable of running over 60fps. and if you have not for long. 60 fps feels like shit only because i spent 12 years playing shooters on sony trinitrons capable of 240 hz.. my 42 inch plasma does not compare to any crt in terms of movement speed. ANY older pc gamer will agree.(who played shooters) crt =120hz lcd > 60hz lcd . console games dont require twitch movements like pcs with mouses.

  • why dont you cheap bastards put a little bit more money down on a nice 42 inch led or something instead of buying these chinsy tiny 22 inch monitors. makes no sense to me...

  • lol ya need a 120htz to see the difference ya noobs

  • @Spright0 u dumb? i saw this video on 2 screens one on my 120hz and one on my 60hz and i saw the diffrent "ya noob"

  • whats the recommended minimum hz for gaming? will I notice a big difference between 60, 75 and 120Hz?

  • @zeewolsk You will indeed notice a difference between 60 and 120. I currently play on a 60hz. I tried my friends 120hz and it feels sooooo smoother. Too bad i can't afford the Samsung 2233RZ atm. Otherwise i would've bought it.

  • @SommerWins hmmm ok thanks. I was sort of hoping you wouldn't say that lol. I think if I see one with 75Hz I'll get it

  • you wont see the difference on youtube with all videos being converted to 30 fps

  • i recomend to set the same colors at both screens before showing like this -.-

  • Song name please?

    Very sexy tune

  • Now I regret about buying ATi 5850 along with 24" monitor.. anyway I couldn't predict the future.

It was even better with 8800 GTS at 1280x1024 and 75 Hz on 19", than 1920x1080 with horrible 60 Hz.... though widescreen is surely better

  • L4D2 looks awesome on a great 120Hz LCD monitor. The SM2233RZ is one of them.

I just hate how the TVs are being pitched. I'd only get a 120 or 240Hz TV if it had very minimal ghosting and a quick response time AND if it can take an input at that refresh rate. I know L4D2 can pull 240 fps on my PC, and I would love to see a TV worthy of it. Sadly there are none that I know of. Only the latest PC TN film panels are worth looking into, especially since your PC games can do them justice.

  • i want a fuckin 120hz, 2ms, 27" monitor. I just bought a 60hz, 2ms, 27" led monitor till the 27" 120hz monitors come out.

  • fuck 60hz screens

  • **regret**

  • I have the 2233RZ and I love it *-*

  • What would you recommend buying a samsung syncmaster 2233rz or buy a new 60 hz monitor?

  • @austinpower14 buy the new asus VG236HE, higher resolution 1920x1080,2ms response time, higher contrast, swivel/tilt and all that.

  • @excelx213 what about a Samsung SyncMaster XL2370 just to take a 60 hz This is also very good only thing i dont like is that its not 120 hz

  • @austinpower14 yes you are totally right, new 120hz lcd's cost a lot more because you can buy a bigger 60hz lcd screen with less money. the Samsung SyncMaster XL2370 does look good but you can get a 24inch 60hz lcd from asus or LG for 200dollars... but to be honest with you, 60hz lcd's are a joke compared to new 120hz lcds when it comes to gaming. i got mine for the 120hz alone and i will probably try the 3d gaming thing next year.

  • @excelx213

I bought the Asus VG236H since it comes with 3d glasses. I ran batman AA, Mafia 2 and Mass Effect 2 in 3d and was unimpressed. Since 3d runs at 60 hz. I prefer running the monitor at 120 hz with no 3d. Also 3d slows down even good computers like mine. Running an i7 920 with 12 gigs of ddr 3 1600 ram, and at the time a nvidia 295 at high settings. I would buy the 120 hz monitor for smoother game-play rather than a gimmicky 3d experience.

  • @excelx213 Tough the asus look very good its a bit out of my price range.

  • @austinpower14 check out the 24inch ASUS VW246H model and the 23inch ASUS VH236H, or the 24 SAMSUNG P2450H, these monitors are not so expensive. I bet you next year the asus VG236HE 120hz will probably cost less, it is worth it to go 120hz if you are a gamer. you won't regrest it.

  • @excelx213 Thank you for the good replys its been really helpful :-D

  • @austinpower14 anytime :)

  • can't wait for ips panels 240hz 1ms response time... hehe or maybe something better in the near future.

  • I just bought a new ASUS VG236HE 23inch lcd 120hz and it is the bomb! back to the old 100+hz gaming like i used to on my old 100hz crt lol

I have been stuck with crappy 60hz lcd's for the past 8 years!! shiiit!

I didn't get this monitor for the 3d gaming crap because i really don't care about 3d gaming. 120hz ftw

  • DON'T LET SHAMSUNG SHAMYOU !

  • @maltyful I LIKE MALTY-SUNG. HE'S FUNNY. I SHAMSUNG FOR MALTY-SUNG

  • fiannlly no crisis in demo

  • @xsavatoriusx excellent! I will buy it and give it a try :) thank you

  • I don't really see a difference :/

  • please tell me that a new 120hz lcd monitor is like owning a crt!! i don't want that vsync 60hz fps lock crap! which makes your mouse movement all crappy. :)

  • I have been playing bad company 2 on a 25inch 60hz lcd and the image looks excellent but the delay when you turn corners or when you move your mouse fast fucking sux...

then i switched to my old 19inch crt 100hz and man.... i have been playing 100x better!

the only thing that i hate is i'm having hard time spotting the enemy at far away distance lol from 1920x1200 60hz to 1024x768 100hz screen resolution lol

  • @xsavatoriusx I'm thinking of buying a new 120hz lcd monitor but i have doubts...

does it feel smooth/mouse control when you are gaming on 120hz lcd...i mean, is it smooth like crt monitor? and i'm not talking about 60vsync fsp cap.

  • some people dont get what is so bad about 60 Hz, lucky them, but for other its realy important matter.

  • Still not convinced this makes a big difference to have 120 over 60hz.

  • honestly i see no difference

  • DON'T BE A SHAMSUNG SUCKER !

    DON'T LET SHAMSUNG SHAMYOU !!

  • L4D with this music reminds me of crashing while listening to John Mayer

  • That monitor is not that good resolution ):

  • If your games runs at 60FPS this monitor is still unnecessary I think.

  • gay music

  • so is 120hz better than 60hz for gaming.

  • @sgkill3r that would go in the 'no shit' category

  • DON'T LET SHAMSUNG SHAMYOU !!

  • Nice. I can see the difference, well, kinda. Got to remember also most of us are watching at 60hz...have heard this display is good, wondering how it rates compared to 1920x1080 screens.

  • you cant see the difference on camera...

well i suppose with those freeze frames only.

  • you cant see the difference on camera...

  • is it worth it to use this with an ATI graphics card ??

  • @xxxzantetsukenxxx

yeah its the only thing keeping me away from 120hz displays, can someone tell this? i saw a new driver update relating a fix to this issue but not certain

  • @xxxzantetsukenxxx

Nope - on an ati card, you can only do 120hz in 1680x1050 - any other resolution and it defaults back to either 60 or 75 - Also keeping the aspect ratio at 4:3 is almost impossible.

  • a recording without interlacing please -.-

  • you will not see the difference on the video , since the video has been recorded below 120fps and you do not have a 120hz monitor

    the difference is huge!!!

if you got a monster pc which is especially able to get high fps on realistic games, a 120hz monitor is definitely necessary as it look SUPERB SHARP and fluent

so this might add a lot to your REALISTIC(...) feeling

  • can this monitor run 1080p res? cause online it sais it runs at 1680-1050.

  • @synveng

No it can't do true 1080p. DVDs will still look great but blue ray would have to be altered either by cutting viewable area and keeping the high rez or dropping rez.

Aside from that I think 1680x 1050 is the best gaming rez. for the majority of people. Mostly because you will get more FPS vs 1920x1080.

I have the HD LCD only because of other features (120hz, color, build quality) I don't care about blue ray nor Xbox.

Many midrange Vid cards work great at 1680 but no higher.

  • lol @1:53 ... listen

  • @llGreenViouSll dont hear any thing ?

  • just bought an asus 120hz 23 inch monitor 1920x1080 online...i'm waiting 1-2 days when it ships I CANNOT WAIT FOR IT

  • i have it with glasses. and it blows. best for egoshooters 120Hz ftw

  • I bought this 2233RZ, because my Sony GDM-FW900 died. I miss my FW900, it was still 20% better than this one here.

  • @webdigo

That Fw900 is a killer CRT. I have two 21 inch CRTs and a 17 Sony CRT. No LCD will crush those. When I move the 21 inch can see why LCDs are the norm. Back breakers.

  • maybe its just a samsung>dell thing lol, samsung monitors pwn :)

  • Not see diference. The diference is with GLASSES 3D. Or maybe your eye is going to be in slow motion and began to see everything "right"? 120 hz is only for 3d. The human eye, 75 hz or FPS, but beyond that, no difference. Bad comparison.

  • Heh, the Samsug, filters the image much better than the Dell. As I see.

  • well tomorrow is my brithday i'm getting a 1920x1080 120hz monitor

  • @1988scottcarey damn I'm jealous :P

  • That's a gay song. Period.

  • can the monitor tilt?

  • songname?

  • couldnt the dell moniter your using just have more ghosting? or is there visible smoothness

  • Nice, would have liked to see mw2 at 120fps v-synced.

  • @HAWX9

Vsync and fast FPS do not go hand in hand. Its ok for slow stuff like Portal but not in fps. Playing with vsync is like walking in mud. Its sloooow.

It does clear up tearing issues but 120Hz fixes tearing issues so vysyc is not needed.

  • @goblin072

Hmmmm but there would be some tearing if ur gpu can output more than 120fps. If it can't output more than 120fps then there will be no tearing at all because the limiting factor becomes the gpu not the lcd.

  • @HAWX9

There won't be tearing as the refresh rate is so high you will never see skipped frames or the ugly tearing. Also you won't have to suffer for Vsycn mouse lag.

FPS pro type gamer will notice and appreciate 120hz. Playing solitaire won't be worlds better.

Back when I was into the CTF Quake thing I had my monitor at 120hz and never used Vsync. When I play on a 60hz LCD it feels all out of step with the input lag and low refresh rates.

  • @HAWX9

Hi Hawx9, yes I hear you on that one and I think you are correct in theory. The reality is you won't see it. I do have some games than run 300fps and I tried them all. I think at 120hz any tearing that occurs happens so much faster than it does not register in your brain. I think it would be there if you took a high speed video camera like used for ultra slow motion. You might see it. 120hz seems to be fast enough where tearing is not a show stopping issue.

  • @killboy

hi how are you i m buy both of but i can't ajust the setting for 120 HZ can you tell me how i Configer this i have

    LCD =Samsung 2233RZ

    VGA=Navidia GTX 285

if this is possible for 120 HZ use for Dual DVi Link Cable

    Plzz Guide me for this

  • i really cant see any diffrence

  • @EddieLolz3r

    lol?

    must be blind

  • @EddieLolz3r

Eddie, I can see how some people might not notice. I have 4 LCDs in same room so I can watch the same game on two different lCDs. 60hz is not that bad, if you use vsyc it looks great and only can tell by FEEL while playing. Play serious sam HD at 120fps at 120hz vs 120fps at 60hz.

With vsync off they do not look the same. With vsync on they do not FEEL the same.

Vsyc on or off at 120HZ has a fluid feeling to it and visually its perfect in terms of artifacts, image jitter.

  • are you sure that 120hz is so much better looks like the samsung is a higher model tv and has more vivid colors..

  • Freeze Frame!

  • Sadly, i got a Samsung Syncmaster CRT with 120hz and has 0.6ns response time and no blurry. ;) i will wait until new tecnology comes. Pro gamers still playing with CRTs. NUFF SAID

  • panasonic owns all!!

  • Crt? What is this the early 90's? ;)

  • The difference between those monitors is the calibration and the screen coatings. The Dell uses a really nasty anti-glare coating that makes the screen seem dirty. You can see a "haze" on the screen caused by particles diffusing light in multiple directions to lessen glare. The Samsung does not have the haze and that's a function of the screen manufacture and not any difference between 60hz or 120hz. This comparison is not very good imo.

  • cant figure out if i buy this one or the Samsung XL2370

  • so u can play 8OO x6OO and other resolutions in 12O hz ? right ?

  • Will 2233RZ work with Gigabyte Radeon HD5970 2GB?

  • what is the best brand of LCD tvs

  • @bk11121988 Samsung, Sony, LG, Sharp

  • Samsung screwed thousands of it's customers with junk tvs.

    DON'T LET SHAMSUNG SHAMYOU !!

  • omg her voice is beautiful i love it

  • My friend thinks I'm an idiot for using a 100hz CRT over a 60hz LCD when gaming, as there's no visible difference and past 40hz everything looks the same.

    What a fucking idiot.

  • @kick52 He is right.

  • ...

  • music ???

  • I've had this monitor for almost a whole year (3 days from now) And about 2 months ago it stopped working. It turns on but it's really dim then it shuts off.

I call Samsung for my 1 yr. warrenty and they tell me it's my videocard. My GTX 295!! HOW is it my card when i bought a little $99 monitor that works fine RIGHT NOW. Yet my 2233RZ doesn't work at all!! Someone explain this to me!

  • Your backlights have gone out. You can install new ones or do like me and just build it a wooden box with a little light bulb to shine through.

  • @Bk7upMythic LMFAO

  • I am with you about Samsung,They don't like to take responsibility for their products.

The stand is garbage and the look of the housing is not pleasing to the eye at all.

Plus the plastic they use loves dust for some reason.

I will wait for some other company to give me the teck I want.

  • Yeah, sounds like it's the monitor. Try another monitor on the card just so you can tell them to fuck off :P

  • That's exactly what I did. My Samsung has been collecting dust for 2 months. I bought a little temporary $99 monitor that works fine.

  • Honestly, The difference isn't Really that large...

I'm gonna wait until 240 Hz Monitors Come Out :)

  • SAMSUNG GARBAGE

  • at 0:33 , if you pause , you can clearly see the difference between normal LCD screen and the samsung 120hz one.Stuttering does not exist on the 120hz....so if you have problems with stuttering , this is the perfect solution.

  • You know that lcd DONT have "hz" right? The CRT had/have "hz", but lcd technology CANT and DONT have "hz". You know that, dont you? :S

  • @SebasGreco You do realize Hz means one thing per second and can be used to described any periodic movement that happens repeatedly over one second.... Not only do LCD Monitors "have Hz" but pretty much any part of the computer uses something that is measured in Hz and if you can think of a part that doesn't than hang it from a string and push it like a f*cking pendulum.!

  • Yes, i know. BUT you dont know that, in terms of displays you confuse hz with refresh rates. And, thats what companies exploits. In an LCD theres not cycles per second or "things" per second. You dont realize that an LCD display "draw" DIFERENT PARTS as they change, and DONT REFRESH ALL THE SCREEN in a given cycle per second, as the CRT does. The similar thing they have es the "ms" of response time. The "hz" in an LCD shows the time an individual pixel can go on and off BUT besides the ms of RT.

  • @SebasGreco What the Hell you said "LCDs dont have hz" wtf are you talking about refresh rates for? Go learn some damn English then complain! And what are companies trying to exploit buy telling you a refresh rate? You obviously have no idea what your talking about...

  • You try to learn some damn respect. Or learn some damn spanish. Why not? What i said and repeat is that the hz use in crt is not the same on LCD. They are to diferent technologies. For what you say i can tell you dont understand AT ALL what i said and, of course, how works a CRT and a LCD. And what companies exploits. So, the only thing i can do its made myself clear, so, i will COPY a little information so i can know for sure its well writed. So, keep reading the next posts:

  • Here what i tried to said to add in this discussion:

Much of the discussion of refresh rate does not apply to the liquid crystal portion of an LCD monitor. This is because while a CRT monitor uses the same mechanism for both illumination and imaging, LCDs employ a separate backlight to illuminate the image being portrayed by the LCD's liquid crystal shutters.

  • ........The shutters themselves do not have a "refresh rate" as such due to the fact that they always stay at whatever opacity they were last instructed to continuously, and do not become more or less transparent until instructed to produce a different opacity. Most of the TFT LCDs used in portable devices and computer monitors need a continuous refresh. The driving voltage determines the transmittance of the liquid crystal.

  • .....The closest thing liquid crystal shutters have to a refresh rate is their response time, while nearly all LCD backlights (most notably fluorescent cathodes, which commonly operate at ~200 Hz) have a separate figure known as flicker, which describes how many times a second the backlight pulses on and off. However they also have a refresh rate that governs how often a new image is received from the video card (often at 60 Hz).

So, thats the diference between HZ en LCD and HZ in CRT

  • lol my laptop given by the portuguese governament with a pentium dual core t3200 and a 9300mgs and eve play shity 1080p youtube vidios properly

  • DON'T LET SHAMSUNG SHAMYOU !
