He did run away to Vegas and but he said that he wanted to vanish...be one of those people that left and was never seen again...like an urban legend that people tried to track down but never could. Always be one step ahead (he was on drug @ the time)
He met the woman and she took him to her house and took care of him for a few days and convinced him that he should go back to Oasis.
