My Altec Lansing MX-5021 on Rock

I have the logitech z2300. I WISH I HAD THESE ALTECS. Yeah a lot of people hate the z2300 cuz of the lack of midrange and the overpowering bass. But, being a beginner audiophile, I EQ'd them in iTunes. They sound amazing now, yet, still, nothing could compare to those altecs.

FX6021 never heard it but I doubt they are better than this ones even if they are more expensive, simply because Mx-5021 is bigger and has more power on the sats.

What??? Don't give out wrong info. I know you like your speakers but what you're saying is nonsense. Altec Lansing FX6021 are 200W (2x66W satellites and 68w sub) speakers and Mx-5021 are 90W (2x20w for satellites and 50w sub).

FX6021 are louder more expensive and better sounding than Mx-5021.

MX-5021 are great set of speakers anyway though.

FX 6021 doesn't have that specs, it has a 50W subwoofer and 12.5W per satelite; the bandwidth response is 32Hz to 18000 Hz on the FX-6021 while on Mx-5021 is 30Hz to 22000 Hz.

i got these abit ago and the bass is really deep and low for a 6' cone. and the bass is only on half lol.

that's why i'm getting them, small subwoofer, loud sub-bass. larger-than normal but still compact satellites delivering accurate midbass, midrange and treble :)

1st of all, logitech top of line models don't use a proper tweeter but use's a phase plug that does in some way the job (not as good as proper one but it does). THX certified pc speakers are classified as THX Multimedia means is for close-range listening.

Logitech, Creative/Cambridge SoundWorks, klipsch, Altec Lansing are the best makers of PC speakers and klipsch, Altec Lansing produces awesome professional audio too.

MX-5021 sound better than Z-5500 but that doesn't make logitech crap.

These speakers are seriously kicking the ass of any Logitech sets IMO. I could have had a Logitech 5.1 set for less than I paid for these, but they were pretty poor.

The problem is, fools who have no soundcards to speak of plug in a Logitech and think it rocks because the floor shakes. Altec Lansing is the real deal.

Well, this speakers in sound quality is just wonderful, but they are not designed for crazy high volumes, especially the subwoofer, that can't come along with it's sats (sats goes crazy louder). If you enjoy a good looking design, rich sound quality and listen at normal volumes, I recommend this speakers, the sats provide a very detailed and clean sound, the sub kicks a really impressive bass for it's size (it kicks sometimes like a real 12" sub), well SQ = Mx-5021, SPL = Z5500

both systems are more than good, mx-5021 is less expensive than Z5500, simple because it's 2.1 vs 5.1, but in Sound Quality mx-5021 owns everything in PC speakers or even HI-FI systems. z5500 are not ugly, they look good.

hey man i just saw the gt5051 and they SUCK i mean it only has a woofer of 5.25" so i think that mx5021 is better the only confusion is now between mx5021 and 641 so u have to help me ;)

No, it's 20W RMS x 2 (1" tweeter, 2x 3" Full range drivers on each sat) and the subwoofer is 50W RMS (one 6.5" driver).

ya my monitor is 18.1" is weird I know but it is. You have a nice PC, but in sound well I'm the BOSS LOL :p. I own to a ps2, actually own a few consoles. Mega Drive/genesis, dreamcast, xbox, ps2 slim and X360 right now. I'm uploading now a koRn song called ass itch and is playing on the z-340.

I'm using at 1024x768 the max res is 1280x1024, with support for DVI which I'm using. Winamp is simple and cool thats why I use it.

I re-installed WinXP. Winamp now works again, now for a really cool skin for winamp, Anunaki - and switch to "party mode".

My OS is the Windows XP professional, CPU- Athlon XP 2600+, RAM- 512MB DDR PC2700, GPU- MSI Geforce4 Ti 4200 128MB AGP8x, SPU- Sound Blaster Audigy 2 (THX certified), blá blá and a LCD Monitor LG of 18.1" and the Altec Lansing MX-5021 (THX certified), my PC only needs a bit more RAM and a new GPU; but I now prefer to play on consoles specially on X360 right now. :)

oh lol i knew it was mostly a skin. cuz my friend used that skin too...18.1" lcd??? my pc speects are 1gb ddr pc3200 ram, 250gb 7200rpm hd, amd athlon x2 3800 2.0ghz (use to oc it to 2.4 stock voltage and fan), dvd dual layer and dvd rom drives, ati radeon x600 256mb VGA, DVI, TV-Out. built in mobo 7.1 channel sound card. pretty much it..19" lcd mon. 5.1 logitechs/ 2.1 altec lansings :D lol...my ps2 has been dead for 6 months.
