  • Why are they not taping the other guitar players?

  • What strings does he use? This left me speechless...

  • @AdrianDavidSmith I don't know if he still uses them, but I know he used to use Elixir Phosphor Bronze custom lights...i know they're my favorite strings.

  • this guy could beat me with harmonics alone in a guitar dual...

  • haha, I woke this morning to -17C and then I find this song? xD

Well, I would like it better without him hitting the guitar so much with his right hand so you can hear the melody more.

    Great guitar player/playing, I like it! :D

  • best guitar player in the world. this technique is from another planet

  • dam ive had to take a piss for over 3 hours now and yet here i am

  • So, is that what a Cold Day in Quebec feels like?

  • and this is why i like cold winter days

  • 1:25 .... dude.

  • I SAW HIM ONCE BUT THE PLACE WAS A SAUSAGE FEST!!

  • @JackDawsonRMS it is sad that those who appreciate guitar all come from jimmie dean, there definitely needs to be more of the camel persuasion at good music shows

  • @DAVEOH1980 AND HOW DO YOU SUPPOSE WE CAN ACCOMPLISH THAT?

  • @JackDawsonRMS free drinks for all the camel toes in the building? or lots of free coke, that seems to work pretty good too:)

  • @DAVEOH1980 FREE COKE WILL GET 'EM. INGENIUS IDEA!!

  • This is easily one of the best songs ever written.

  • I absolutely love love love this song...it sends me off somewhere

  • i really can't get it among other fingerstyle song this is the most insane one,i know so little while road, jerry breakdown seemed intricating but how can you play bass and melodi in different tempo??

  • And this is why I like cold weather.

  • @ElectromagNick i dont think hes talking about the weater :{

  • From hands that were used for tool-making to this.

  • this guy is a pride of every french canadian

  • unbelievable beautiful composition !!!

  • 20 guys have a shit in their ears.

  • @RemFerdo They just don't know what music is

  • I love the attention he pays to the bass line in this song

  • ♥♥♥

  • ridiculous how independent his middle and ring fingers are to his thumbs and then to have separate rhythm going on the right hand...absurd.

  • Masterpiece

  • it sounds like two or three guitars to the untrained ear.

Untrained Ear: Holy fuck these guys are amazing!

Trained Ear: Nah thats just Antoine.

  • wanted to do a video response my computer illiterate asss doesnt know how lol=P

anyhow this song and your tuning inspired the one i wrote .. and i just wanted to thank you .. lotta respect

the song tags samarth original melody

    1 FuLL&Complete Thought 4* point Progression ~4 . 7 . 9 . '0'~

  • one of his hardest song for a man 2 play ! ;D

  • 自然泛音王

  • I'm working on growing 7 more arms and attaching a pick to my penis so that I can play like this. Anyone know of cock friendly glue?

  • It'll be a "Cold Day" in hell before I can ever play half this good.

  • *puts a jacket on*

  • Unbelievable sounds, unbelievable harmony, unbelievable Antoine!

  • It's hard to say who's the best guitarist in the world since Andy Mckee and Don Ross also exists. According to me this is the greatest acoustic guitarist to walk the earth, alos one of the greatest musicians as well. Every piece he's written is breathtaking to say the least, and every piece is performed flawlessly. I am forever amazed by Antoine's talent.

  • Fuck yea.

  • available in 720p, for musicians who want to feel terrible about themselves in high definition.

  • @chicken6111 Lol Nice

  • @chicken6111 be inspired* idk why ppl are always discouraged. after watching these vids especially ewan dobson all i wanna do is practice haha

  • heey! no esta afinada como la mia! sino lo tocaba... jejjeej QUE GROSOO!!

  • OMIGOD I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!

  • é impressionante a técnica utilizada por ele!!!

  • Hey! You gave your soul? To be the genius of this technique? Fantaaaaasssstiiiccc! I'm your fan. In the country where I live, people like you call him CHINGONES

  • So: the handkerchief is there to dampen unwanted resonances. It lightly touches all six strings to do its thing. Another brilliant composition from Mr Dufour :)

  • @misteranonymousguy It's behind the nut. It doesn't affect the sound at all.

  • @LeeJayBird21 The strings above the nut do ring. Antoine himself says ( on his DVD) that he does it to kill unwanted overtones common on super-resonant guitars. Ask the google :)

  • @misteranonymousguy I guess my guitar isn't super-resonant then lol

  • Ironically warms my heart.

  • is it me or 2:30-2:33 is an awesome sorta riff ?

  • @9901067 i would say yes, but amend that EVERYTHING HE PLAYS is an awesome sorta riff

  • who gives a **** wether the artist looks at their fretboard.....you dnt deserve to listen to either of them if thats what youre thinking about when u here this music

  • If amazing is more than beautiful, so this is amazing!

  • I hang dish towel on my guitar too, but not because I play good, usually to wipe my tears or to cover my face in shame after I attempt to play a couple notes.

  • @DuhEnlightenedOne i know dat feel bro

  • @DuhEnlightenedOne hahahahahah, you made me laugh, dude. loud.

  • @DuhEnlightenedOne that's a bandana ya friggin turkey!

  • @migbee bandana is another word for dish towel.

  • this guy is fucking magic... like a god at playing guitars

  • This is what I love about Antoine Dufour and other Candyrat artists. I'll just be listening to my iTunes as usual, then just randomly go to a youtube and search them up. "Ooh look awesome song." *Clicks and listens* OH HEY ANOTHER ONE! *clicks and listens* OH LOOK I HAVENT HEARD THIS ONE BEFORE *clicks and listens again* i just get hooked on these guys and screw my iTunes :P

  • Why soo Serious...

  • This is what chaos mixed with perfect melody would sound like.

  • Comment removed

  • Man how come someone compose and play stuffs like that

    thats beautiful

  • @pakleglia Those bandanas wish they were strapped to Antonie's guitar, and vice versa

  • I just realized he looks like that kid from Hot Tub Time Machine!! Haha! Well, no worries my friend you are still a God on that guitar.

  • i see him playing everytime with a diffrent gitar, i wonder how many gitars he owns!!!! he is just perfect

  • feeling like i'm swiming out of this planet...

  • If his girl want to kiss him, she needs to kiss the guitar first, only if the guitar sound like this she can give a kiss to Antoine : D

  • Holy hell, you're amazing sir. Nothing more to say. I'm flabbergasted!

  • I'd have his babies... Enough said.

  • @Blond3VixXxen I'd have his babies, i wouldnt let the fact that i am a man stop me.

  • @elvarge0 ummmm, thats a little creepy dude.

  • @a2ndr8ctzn lol i can't believe i wrote that. like i laughed looking it it XD. and u love it realy :P

  • @elvarge0 what? where did you get that i loved it?

  • @a2ndr8ctzn lol dm

  • @elvarge0 best comment in internet history.

  • Antoine, you're such a beastly guitarist. I feel bad for those who give up on playing because you are truly an inspiration to keep going! Anyone with enough sense can tell that you worked damn hard to get to where you're at. You can never fail if you never give up, and once again Antoine, you are a good testament to this. Keep rockin' :)

  • this song is so beautifull, I CANT STOP LISTENING !!!!!!

  • Not my style or that enjoyable for me to listen to but he's got lots a talent either way...

  • If you scratch your bum does it bleed for ages?

  • Listen to all his songs with "rainy mood" on another tab. Fabolous

  • there's something about his videos that makes me play it more than once

  • I keep coming back and back and back and it just keeps sounding better and better and better. This rocks on and on and on ..........

  • If someone could tab this for me I would be eternally greatfull

  • @Babeman12 Check the CandyRat website for tabs, link's in the description. Scroll down until you find Antoine's album Convergences then scroll down from that page all the way to the bottom. They're not free, but they're worth it.

  • I cant play guitar well enough to even be qualified to listen to this ... actually he probably plays firewood better than i play guitar.

  • Too bad re-playing Youtube videos don't count as views, otherwise I would've given this one 893578925623847 more views.

  • @Th3D4v1d it does count i know friends that watch there own videos over and over to give themself loads of views it just takes 5 mins or so to update on the actual page

  • @ox0Jason0xo Well then, lets get started :D

  • can anyone tell me what the purpose of the scarf is?

  • @SirCCP4 Its because when he does sudden stops in the music or plays fairly aggressively the strings above the nut will "ring" and he's particularly sensitive to the sound. (IE it bugs the crap out of him ;-) ) The bandanna placed between them keeps them muted. He has an FAQ video that answers that question. You should check it out.

  • @SirCCP4 He actually explained why in a FAQ video. He uses it to decrease the "ringing" noise when strumming. Here is where he explains it at 8:38. /watch?v=-o2XKFfTMH0

  • Play it again, Antoine

    .... and again

    ....

  • Antoine, I think this your most beautiful work. This explosion of sound, I don't know how you're capable with such easy looking chords, I guess it's in your right hand. Any way your an incredible guitarist. I love your music.

  • Thanks for the gift you have.

  • For the people wandering about his nails... From Wikipedia - 'Antoine Dufour, a fellow Candyrat records artist, has also stated that he uses fake nails to aid in his tone production in his interviews.'

  • Absolutely amazing. True undeniable talent. Well done.

  • sorry to say.... 18 people are deaf or dumb... ^^

  • it's really cold today, Antoine, i see it in your face and feeling by my soul

    moving from reality

  • Correction. That bandana struggled 40 years out of a drug dealers bald head. And, finally, it smiled and happily hopped unto the neck of Antoine's guitar.

  • Extremely AWESOME!!!

  • It's like every album he gets exponentially better... I don't think it's even possible to get better than this but, we'll see....

  • 3:17 -3:22... dynamic music-movement & pure beauty

  • i see that he leaves his nails to grow out long to strum the guitar

  • he's playing is unfair to other guitarists when u see him playing u just want to quit playing for good!! it' amazing how he come's up with the guitar banging and all that rythm :D

  • @acron93 Guitar banging? Lol. More like a sensual guitar massage.

  • i refuse to wear such glasses and grow such nails..lol

  • @MrMethadrine He didn't grow them, they're acrylic glue-on nails. But glue-on nails can be a nuisance as well...

  • @jkshoujk just curious if you are positive, and how you know they aren't real..?

  • @shurleyclayton27 Search for "Antoine Dufour FAQ" here on YouTube. If you have any remaining questions, see antoinedufourmusic . com in the FAQ section there.

  • @jkshoujk Thanks. :)

  • @jkshoujk your jokin....right??

  • @zezt Joking about what?...

  • @zezt sorry this reply was meant for mrmethadrine above who claims he has acrylic nails?

  • @zezt oh you DID say it....lol

  • @zezt he does use acrylic nails haha i believed for a while that they were real but no there are acrylic.

  • This is mozart in french-canadian form.

  • Perfect song for today! Temperature outside -27C. This warms me at least slightly.

  • if music were math, we'd have just watched a 10 foot blackboard get filled

  • @LoafofCat Music theory is basic math, does that count? :)

  • I wish I could play like this on a cold day :(

  • @grygrskls Ive had enough. He is scaring me now. I,m out of here.

  • @grygrskls Well, to be honest, i can play ALL of Antoine,s tunes but i prefer my capo-ometre toned down and quavered onto the 2nd and 9th fret close to the strumming string which is of course quite a thick string compared to the other 7, know wot i mean? another "special" of mine which i made up is i only blow on the second whistle tuning hyphen nodule, so i get a feedback through the lisping reed sprockett flange and that in turn causes the sitar to vibrate. Hes good but he aint Bundy. You Dig?

  • @teddybundy118 I'd love to hear yeh play, man.

  • I've never learned to read music and I just don't remember tabs so I love that some of his best songs (in my opinion) are filmed in HD cause it makes it sooo much easier for me to learn them. I can only learn from watching someone play it. The guy is SCARY awesome at this

  • sic

  • it take us to push your envelope. How deep can you go my brotha.Indulge yourself into the heaven of sound

  • harmonic at 1.27 could have done with a cheeky push on the neck, for a bit of a whammy effect.. would have sounded IMMENSE!!

  • on his way down from 1.30 is genius piece of tones

  • He eats emotions and poots music.

  • Can someone tell me why he has the bandana on his guitar? Does it help with tone or sustain or something?

  • @BadReligion93 Mutes the overtones.

    NT

  • T'es bon en maudit, bravo!

  • i love the bass line in the beginning. It's like he's just bouncing into the song! Just scrumtrulescent!

  • I think a certain set of people are just going through these videos and disliking them to be jackholes. Cuz honestly, if you really don't like this type of music, DON'T LISTEN TO IT! Save your mouse-clicking energy for your porn sites and masturbation. If you truly appreciate music, in all of its well-thought glory, this is the type of music that should be praised.

  • Watch his eyes while he plays. Then watch Andy Mckee's eyes when he plays. You'll know who's better.

  • @SaileAway What?!?! lol

  • @SaileAway

What you've said makes absolutely no sense. So McKee doesn't look at his fretboard. Neither did Kurt Cobain. Does that mean that Kurt Cobain is better then Steve Vai just because Steve tends to look at his neck here and there?

I'll never understand why some people always have to be pain in the ass with some idiotic comparisons, instead of just enjoying the beauty of sounds and technique that both McKee and Dufour have plenty of.

  • @DumbEdain I agree completely. It's a force of habit as well. I do the same thing when I play guitar and didn't even realize it until a friend pointed it out to me once. But in any case, you sir, kudos for having brains and an ear for music. :U

  • @DumbEdain you have spoken a piece of magic my friend...just realize that anyone who cares if a guitar GOD-yes i said it, he would make clapton weep-looks at his FRET BOARD obviously isnt a guitarist themselves

  • @DumbEdain He's got to keep an eye on those magic fingers; he wouldn't believe it either if he didn't see it for himself

  • @SaileAway mckee watches the fret board too. i would also think you have to look at musicians like andy mckee, don ross, justin king, erik mongrain, and sungha jung. each watch there fret boards, technically they watch both there hands but in reality the music becomes better when you put emotion into it.

  • tunning?

  • @ZacVrono Low to High: C# G# E G# C# D#

Be careful on the C# on the second string! All his tunings on his website, antoinedufourmusic . com

  • Talent+Hard work= This

  • 1:26 = Awesome chord.

  • he plays one guitar and you hear five guitars

  • Absofuckinglutely great

  • Master

  • words cannot even begin to describe this music OR the 16 people who disliked it.

    >_<

  • Hey. Has anyone ever asked you if you could play a song of theirs and kind of add on to it. Because I have written a song that is awesome, and I can play it well, but I was just wondering if you would be able to maybe add on to it a little.

    Just wondering. Thanks.

  • @PatrioticRed No problem! I will add a D7.

  • This video is really inspirational. I got some really great ideas on how to cover up my balding areas when they get worse.

  • This song is a sonic maelstrom...the only way I can think to describe it. One of my favorites from Antoine. Cheers mate, don't ever stop!

  • talent. art. beauty. amazing.

  • Luckiest bandana in the world

  • this song is a definite "string snapper". both the G and the B are tuned higher, more tension on these over time amke them break quickly. Of course antoine doesn't care about that, he probably has a string vault haha
