Picked a pair of these up around a month ago. I needed them urgently, paid a bit extra and got next day delivery. As usual, excellent customer support from RVOps. Anyway onto the boot. : Super comfortable, very tough, hard wearing boot, and at the end of the day, you can buff them up for drill etc.
These boots really are the best boots ive ever had and regardless of what comes out i will be sticking with them. Ive had Meindl's, zamberlan's and scarpa's but these boots by far steal the show. They are the most comfortable(once bedded in), most durable and longest lasting pair ive had, they have taken me 3 months around new zealand, two months in scotland and the two years wearing them in between and they are still, apart from the abvious scuffs etc, like brand new.
I want to purchase them but i don't know anywhere i can try them on first, im stuck in aberystwyth(mid wales). Do you know if the size of lowas has the same size as any other popular brand i could just go and try on in a highstreet store?
After years on issued boots, I took the plunge and invested in my own pair - I ended up buying these.
And for anyone considering buying them, I cannot reccomend them more. They have served me very, very well. Fanstastic amounts of comfort and support, light, agile (required hardly any breaking in) and a dream for tabbing and field exs. Although I have no other experiences of other boots, I cannot see how you can need any more in a boot - I don't even need to think about blisters on CFT's anymore
Thanks for the info. We have been handed the LOWA combat boots 90 (old version) in the Swiss army. They are really bad. They don't form around the feet correctly and I'm obliged to wear compeeds.
I'm gonna purchase those to replace the old ones... if my superiors allow me to.
No worries, I still have my original pair of these (after about 9 months of constant use) and use them daily for all purposes. They are still rigid, comfy and very supportive. I was like you actually, I always had to wear oxide tape or compeed patches, even if I was just cutting about camp in issued boots.
Some people prefer the LOWA Supercamp boot, as it's practially the same, but lower in the leg. But I'm tall and have long legs so I went with the combat boot. Have a look at both.
