this happened to my dad during the winter, the highway was all ice and snow plows came to clear it and an hole bunch of trucks were at the front of the long line of cars. so after about an hour later he sees cars going up the emergency lane so he walks to the front of the line and all the truckers are sound asleep and the road is clear of ice so he gets on the emergency lane and gets out of there.
