Your video is great and really helpful!!! For the second video im just wondering if you can drag the gradient more than once to get it to fade in several places? Thank you!
I love the way you teach...short and sweet and very precise..to the point...makes you feel like sitting thru the entire video...awesome job, thanks for sharing...
looking forward to some more tutorials like this....
@mrslink2 He switched the black as foreground to background. When he originally applied the gradient the top part of the circle faded away. But he wanted the bottom part to fade away instead. So he clicked on to the mini-squares to switch foreground/background colour.
i came here searching for the extract tool in cs4 (they don't include extract in cs4 x64) and instead i find these many tutorials about layer masks :)) use extract and the eraser. much easyer :D (ALT inverts the erasing) i hope i find a better use for layer masks :-s
sir, i always enjoy your tutorials, this one ,too. it seems to me that i saw a tutorial by you (or someone who sounds like you). this tut discussed something called "the Monty Zucker effect". it seemed akin to the Orton effect but with a difference.
great job ive been listening to a tutorial for 2 days now and ive got to say yours is more newbie friendly. its easy to follow and complete so like i said great job
what do you do when every time you click on the brush, it says that it does not correspond to the chanel. how do you set up your tools so that it works with the mask layer.. mine ever works on the layer mask :( or is there a way to brush without having to use the layer?
Well, I got two pictures open at the same time, which took me awhile to figure out how to do, but how do you get the background picture in the little box on the right, and then the layer a different picture in order to combine them.
As always Howard, an amazingly well discripted tutorial. I wish you could've been my teacher at art college, i would have learned photoshop in a matter of weeks. Thanks bud!
So many advantages to using masks. Welcome information for those of us who always used the eraser because that's what we knew. Thanks to Howard and Iceflow Studios.
0:55 "well layer mask is the right of 2 words: LAYER & MASK..its pretty straight foward and basically place a mask on top of your layer pretty simple.." hahahaha
