  • Fer cryin' out loud, who did the music to these? It's amazing!

  • Did UPA really make this? That would raise their fame to a factor of...about 4 [including Gerald McBoing-Boing, Dick Tracy's animated series, and Mr. Magoo].

  • @vgmc7650 Nope. The Keitz & Herndon studio did, in Dallas Texas. Makes me like my state a bit more.

  • @vgmc7650 Plus, you know that UPA has made more properties than those three, correct? There's a lot of their cool stuff on YT.

  • I see 4 'dis' likes? How could anyone not think good of this video? What's up with that?

  • i used to watch this before going to Sunday School. Happy memories. :)

  • Snookie! I swear that thing says, "Snookie." It's the siren call of Reality TV! Noooooo.......

  • Jot, Box 341, Fort Worth, Texas 76116, I know you'll like them hehehee

  • Wow ! This is so memorable !

  • Wow. I remember watching this when I was a teeny-tiny kid back in the '60's.

  • Didn't JOT have some "Please Don't Litter" commercials on TV? Seems like I remember them but can't find any?

  • dude I remember this when I was eight - thanks for the memories! Days of collecting ball cards, cartoons and watching wrestling on tv every Saturday. Man those WERE the days!

  • Jot was my original BFF.

  • Much better than I remembered...backgrounds are a knock-out. Thanks for sharing!

  • The sound effect sounds like what you get for a correct 1970's-1992 Pyramid answer.

  • They used to show these inbetween Saturday morning cartoons when I was little. Back before all religions except Islam was concidered evil.

  • I watched Jot every day after school in like 1969 - 1970. It came on WYAH TV in Portsmouth VA. That was Pat Robinson's original station. It also had the Jim and Tammy Show.

  • No missing the message with Jot. Wrong is wrong. I wish I could be as forthright as Jot.

  • @TSIband Amen.

  • cool. poor Jot. he was killed by a steamroller

  • That's the way it is truly ooley ooley is!

  • Man, I would sure would love one of those sparkly pinwheel music things!! Except without all the psychedelic guilt it comes with!

  • @aramanth

Well, the guilt only comes if you swipe it. Buy your own and you can spin it all you like.

  • OMG I havent seen this since i was a toddler, I got a free plastic record of some songs from this as a kid...

  • Didn't these air on Bill Kelly's Children's Hour in D/FW on Sundays, Ch. 5? Jot, Davey & Goliath and Bill reading the Sunday comics.. The memories.. lol

  • I don't think it was a part of his show, but I remember these came on either before or after his show. Yes, you are right, the memories!

  • I stand correted. Wikipedia states that it was a part of his show.

  • wtf is this

  • "That's the way it is! Truly-oolee-oolee-ay! So, Whatcha gonna do today? I'm going to share!" I can't believe I remember the song! I was attempting to explain this show to my wife, but seeing is believing...

  • My most memorable episode was when Jot had a birthday party and afterward came across a boy with no toys to play with. Thanks for posting the nostalgic show.

  • I'll take this over today's cartoons. Jot *barely* mentions God...what's the big deal.

  • Good video thanks for the flashback....wow!!!!!!

  • Last night at work me, my supervisor and a co-worker was talkin bout cartoons and my supervisor asked me if I remembered Jot. I had forgotten all about this cartoon until he asked me bout it.

  • When I was a kid JOT started around 6:30am on cartoon Saturday. Even back then it sort of creeped me out with the religious themes and all.

  • The UPA-style animation is very attractive. Thanks for posting this.

  • NO!!! You don't have the part where JOT ask "do you like magic tricks" ANybody remember the address? Too Funny! Thanks for posting!!!

    Jot

    Box 341

    Fort Worth Texas

No Zip Code was necessary back then

  • LOL! Thanks! I had a friend who remembered it! She too loved this cartoon!

  • actually, there WAS a zip code back at that time. it was 76116

  • Right, it just wasn't necessary. I actually sent for the "special surprise". It was a folded cardboard game and coloring sheet. I'm not sure back then what I expected - but I remember major dissapointment.

  • i remeber...its 341 forthwort texas 76116

  • i remember this also after getting out of kindergarden.

i ask my aunt to give him that name because that toon. she used it for his middle name.

he is now mad about it

  • I remember our network affiliate used to show Jot during their "Tom & Jerry Bugs Bunny Hour".

  • I remember this specific episode from when I was a kid. Didn't realize then what a little thief poor Jot was. First it was cupcakes, now toys--guess the series ended before he became a druglord and a terrorist in order for him to learn his Bible verses.

  • this is cool. it reminds me of sunday morning when my parents were too hung over to go to chuch...we loved when they were hungover. the only cartoon that was on was jot....back then we thought it sucked..now i think it's fantastic

  • Thanks. You made my Sunday.

  • Nice Video! Download and save this youtube video to your harddrive with _youtubex.com_

  • This is really weird...

  • Jot is the coolest!

  • "I'm sorry God" lol

  • wtf is this.

  • I like how they made the "wondrous toy" abstract. Decades later, it could be an Xbox...

  • that wierd thing is like one of those crappy thing that you will get borad with in like 9 seconds

  • ok so that sucked. it couldve been a good lesson, until he started praying and whispering 'thou shalt not steal'...

  • Ah another life lesson from those crazy Southern Baptist. :P No, seriously, it's a good little show with a good message for everyone.

  • great piece of educational material i wish i would have seen that 10 years ago... o well

  • was i slipped some kind of drug!?

  • if you send anymore of these stupid chain letters then someone will come and cut your heart out within 5 seconds of sending the stupid chain letter!

it'll never be the same as episode one though xD

  • Was this produced by Filmation, by chance? It has their sylistic feel to it?

  • Jot shorts even were aired on the late 1970's-1980's religious kid show "Joy Junction".

  • I actually sent 25 cents to a place called "fort worth" texas and got a jot fun kit. It only took eigth to ten weeks....

  • Yes, me too! Didn't the jun kit have a fake mustache and maybe some glasses? or i might be confusing that with another mail-off premium. wow, waiting those 8 to 10 weeks seemed like an eternity.

  • Thanks for posting this one. Man, I haven't seen this cartoon in over 30 years. I used to love it as a kid, and never thought it would be shown again.

  • Wow... talk about taking someone back in time. I'd forgotten all about this cartoon. Thanks for sharing.

  • Maybe I had 5 or 6 years old when I saw this cartoon in Guadalajara Mexico, Defently this images still in my mind... Thanks for this memories!!!

  • I love Jot. I have been looking for it forever. I also bought the video at familynet

  • they still air this on my local public access christian based channel. i love the style of it. but that little whispering "thou shalt not steal" was creepy.

  • yeah, I used to watch this when I was little. It used to freak me out. Boy, takes me back though.

  • I remember they used to air Jot on "The J.P Patches Show" which aired every weekday morning locally in Seattle on KIRO TV (CBS) back in the 70's.

  • Oh my gosh, it oughta be against the law to make stuff this cute...

  • I had to grow up on this toon, as a CBS affiliate used to do a show early saturday mornings that was a kiddie Christian type that somehow I watched out fo not having anything to watch before 8AM.
