man why did you change the Batolini preamp? i know that aguilar preamp is awesome but Bartolini preamp for Ibañez Btb 676 is Good and 18 voltios, isn`t it?
Good question mate. Mainly, I've been a long time user of Aguilar Pre's, and I have one in my main bass also. This preamp is alot more versatile than the Bart pre as well, especially the parametric mid, and not to mention it still is 18volt. The only thing I regret about changing it is the lack of output; Even after changing the pickups from Barts to Nordstrand Big Singles, I still have to crack up the gain on my external preamp.
Man I have the same bass, I would like to be what kind of Aguilar pream did you put to your Btb676 ? , and have 6 strings Nordstrand Big Singles Soapbars the same shapes from Bartolini MK2 ?
Hey mate, it's an Aguilar OBP-3, with the mid control also as the mid frequency switch (toggles between 400 and 800hz). The pickups I had custom made and got a guy in Sydney to craft some ebony wood shells for them that were the same dimensions as the Bart MK-2s.
