  • @ABC2D2 Usually its good to do 2 major muscles 1 day, rest one day, then 2 other muscle groups and so on. Traditionally, a rest day in between is usually recommended

  • does this exercise put alot of strain on the wrist? we have a machine for this muscle and i tried it, but it really isnt gentle with the wrist

  • @Exambedos THINK! When you think about it you could feel what it would work. But yeah, its forearms, once you work out more you will realize which muscles each exercise works just by a description of the exercise.

  • hey scott im 15 and ive been really sick the last week and ive lost 5 kgs from 66 - 62 in a week im pretty much better now, when i go back to the gym should i lower my weights and start of slowly and maybe do a week of full body workouts or something?? great videos by the way!

  • @cunners1000 I seriously doubt you lost 5kg weight... and most definitely not 5kg muscle. So when you go back to the gym do the weight you usually do, but give yourself plenty of time before going back to the gym if you have been seriously ill, let the body 100% recover so you dont cause yourself injury. And when asking for what workouts you should do.. be specific... you want to bulk? get toned? work on stamina? long/short muscles.. what do you want to achieve?

  • i do it with a 50lb bar, by the 11th rep my forearms are dying. Literally the worst burn/pain ive felt out of any workout, it kills lol

  • No offense but this exercise is kind of a waste of time. You can make much better use of your time in the gym by doing compound, instead of isolation exercises.

  • @Soccasteve yeah I've never done this exercise. Unless you want to get popeye forearms, I think you can get a good forearm workout from most other exercises.

    3-5 for mostly strength gains with some mass gains

    6-8 for about an equal gain of both strength and mass

    10-12 for mostly mass and some strength

    15-20 for definition and endurance

    In my opinion, any exercise done above the 20 rep range is just a waste of time.

  • Of course there is always that other wrist exercise ... but you have to remember to change hands.

  • How often should these been done? I've actually noticed my left wrist a little sore lately so a reply would be awesome

  • One item missing from the video: Do you recommend heavy weights for this exercise for people who can handle it? Or, should all but the most hardcore lifters stick with lighter weight to avoid wrist injuries?

  • Is the forearm muscle like the calf muscle? like does it need low weight and high reps?

  • actually i believe pull ups are the best forearm exercise thats why gorilas forearms are so big jajajaj they are constantly hanging in trees

  • @negron2108 i'd agree with this, when i do pull ups my forearms get the biggest pump ever. although i have to do slow negatives after 3 reps cos i cant do them very well. also heavy deadlifts are good.

  • @pkhamidar2com whenever you have to grip a bar of any sorts it should activate your forearm muscles. how do you flex your forearms? by squeezing your fist - the same thing you do to a bar

  • @hirirsi makes sense i suppose. Its probably because i can feel more in my back so my mind doenst concentrate as much on my forarms.

  • This is a good video, i used to do this with dumbells but i wasnt sure how heavy to go. Also another thing i like to do is get some ultra light dumbells, like 2 kg or 4 kg. And then spin them around anticlockwise then clock wise. Its hard to explain but i feel a burning after a while. You have to spin them fairly fast but also have to make sure it doesnt damage your wrist joint.
