This was seen at the end of the final three seasons of "The Waltons," the final three seasons of "Eight is Enough," the pilot episode of "Valerie," seasons 1-7 of "Knots "Landing," seasons 2-9 of "Dallas," seasons 1-5 of "Falcon Crest," and "Flamingo Road."
Damn, I did not know the 'LORIMAR' tag went all the way back to the 1970's. (Like many who pay close attention to "crap" like this, I'm a late-80's/early-90's T.V. nut. :-)) The script looked pretty good here back from '78. Music was good, too. Which show(s) used this version of the 'LORIMAR' tag at the endings back in '78?
You're probably referring to the 1988 logo, which did have a VO on the end credits of "Full House" (1988-89 season). The 1988 logo did have the same animation as the 1978 logo, but has a jingle that employs the same instruments (but not the same melody) as the then-new Worldvision TV/home video logo/jingle.
it really creeped me me out when seen and heard at the end of the original Helter Skelter TV movie...just watch that ending segment and then the credits and the logo at say oh 1am with the lights out and not a noise to be heard...spooky
i though lorimar was made in 1986 with full house and also did step by step and family matters thanxs i didnt know lorimar was made in 1978 thanxs and awesome vid. 5/5 i rated alredy

Which of the two Lorimar logos is scarier with the 1971-86 music? The original 1971-78 "LP" logo or this 1978-86 logo, the "Line of Doom"?
ClassicTVMan1981X 4 months ago
They should call the logo ''The Line Of Soothiness''

Actually some of the new cutting edge graphic technologies on TV (like spinning, rotated text moving swiftly) scare me more so than these oldies.

I don't see why. Soothing piano tune, that distinctly 70s feel... and as a plus for me, I was born in 1978, the same year this logo was instituted!

It's nice this logo is starting to appear on Lorimar shows on DVD.
