  • Beautiful video!

  • 25 years later and a new song to love thanks JD

  • At the end of a tough day, where else would I go?

  • As loved as HE was, did ANYONE ever listen to HIM?? Right there in the lyrics. I'm sorry for him, too. As loud as he sang, none of us heard. HE was a lonely soul. For reason's that are private. NOB! Sang his heart out to us.

Great wonderful "old" soul that wrote those songs. Wide open expectations, he hoped for, trusted. So happy to see videos of he & Zack fishing. Time spent w/family. PRECIOUS.

Flying was the one of the places, for him, to calm the roar.

    GOD BLESS

    B

  • wonderful, magic

  • Would humm that song, throughout our flights. When it got LONG.

  • Sing this in my head every so often - glad to hear it after all these years.

    Thanks catbrush123

  • รักเพลงนี้จังครับ..

  • Oh my goodness...just listen to that.

  • I always thought this song was one of his finest of all.

  • John Denver is truely speaks in my heart with all those beautiful songs that he wrote and sang.God really made him for us to serenade fill up our heart with joy while listening to his sweet voice..We always remember you John Denver..

  • We all lost a wonderful singer and friend when John Denver passed.May he live forever in our hearts and in all the great songs that we have to remember him by.Rest in peace John,we are all still listening.

  • "when someone is them self, genuinely, openly, wholly, then they inspire and give others 'permission' to do so as well."

  • I saw JD in concert in 1978. He and his band played for 1 1/2 hours and then the band left the stage for a break while JD stayed and played a 30 minute solo acoustic set. When the band returned they played for yet another hour. JD never once left the stage for the entire 3-hour concert. I'm primarily a "classic rock" kinda fan--but JD holds a special place in my musical heart. That rates as one of the very best concerts I have ever attended. JD truly was and is a great artist and performer

  • Thanks Catbush123 I appreciate all these JD songs you've loaded. Always takes me back to Jersey (UK Channel Islands) when I 1st heard John in 1970. I've been a JD fan ever since.

  • Thank you for all the John Denver uploads Catbrush123 you surely are a dedicated JD fan like myself, don't know if you ever got the chance to meet him I'm sure he would have loved to meet someone like you. These oldies bring back such GREAT memories of a simple and carefree time in our lives.

  • what a wonderful song, I saw John quite a few times and I will always remember holding my wife`s hand when he sang with such passion..the world just stood still....John there will never be another you!!....I know he is singing to the angels now!!

  • They played this song at my dads funeral. Every time I hear it I get pretty choked. It was years before I could even play it.

  • superb

  • Lovely tribute to the great man.........

  • Beautiful photographs, Catbrush, and a wonderful accompaniment to this song. Well done.

  • @Nina960 Thank you for dropping by! :-)

  • nice pictures :} i love this song

  • There aren't many artists who can bring tears to my eyes, no matter how many times I hear them. Both spiritual and intelligent, John D was, and always will be, magic - His music, pure joy.

  • A beautiful song-JD was such a beautiful person-he lives on in my heart forever...

  • Amazing to me it's been nearly 13 years since he left us, and as

a performer of his music (my trio FINALLY recorded a CD of it!!!)

and a lifelong devotee of what he spoke of, specifically for my home in Colorado, this is truly one of his best.

John, may you have the wind at your back, always.

You remain in my heart and I sing for you still.

  • It sounds like a cry for help to me.

    Thank you.

    Jennie.

  • he beat his wife, which isnt a lie. but hes still an amazing musician

  • @xXplugilirXx How's about we bury the bad and remember the good? Annie Denver has done so, can't you?

  • @xXplugilirXx

Where is that as proof?? I never have heard this ! Is it in the papers with dates ?

~Ava~ Poor John not hear to stand up for himself .

  • Another one of John's beautiful songs, he is still my #1 favorite! GOD BLESS him! Always and Forever A JOHN DENVER fan

  • That was so lovely. It's very clear you love him. thank you! 5 stars and faved :)

  • Nobody makes songs like this anymore. JD was in a class by himself.

  • Such a beautiful song....I know what he's singing about, I saw into the eyes of that ONE. Now I need to find myself. Thank you for sharing this song.

  • As always, another of his lesser know, most beautiful songs! I feel if anyone wanted to know the real John Denver all they have to do is listen to his music - he has basically sang us his whole lifes story - happiness, love, dreams, hopes, fears, & pain are all there, and all we have to do is listen! He's always in my heart & soul! Thanks for remembering!

  • @dwindstar57 Amen

  • @dwindstar57 i totally agree with you, these words describe it perfectly x well said

  • Soundtrack to my childhood too. Modest, talented and inspiring. What a human being!

  • My favorite memory was way back in 1975 when my first love and I took our radio out into the horse pasture under the moon and danced to John's songs. This was one of our favorites. If I could I only find him again, I'd like just one more dance. I will always love you David Bolden. My first Love.

  • @molly195957

do you have any more info about him? like his birthday? Middle initial? siblings? parents? I found a lost relative using the computer and would try to help you find him if you'd like. I PM'd you something I found.

  • Thank you for helping me find David. Hearing his voice is like going back home again. You can't buy that with all the money in the world. God Bless.

  • @TheBusterhead

    How did you manage that?

    Thank you.

    Jennie.

  • Thank you for posting this. Along with Looking For Space, (and a few other Spirit Album songs) this is amongst my favorites.

  • ¡Hola!

  • I first heard JD as a child in the early 70's. His music has resonated thoughout my life. I wrote a eulogy for my college paper when he died in 1997. I didn't think the editor would publish it - they were a bit post modern - but he said "I spoke from the heart" and that was why he let it through. I could do so much. JD always "spoke from the heart" - and it is this which makes his lyrics and his singing so memorable and so real today, 12 years after his tragic passing.

  • What a lovely thing to do. Thanks for sharing your story. :-)

  • There isn't an entertainer who ever lived that I love and admire more than John Denver. Still, I had never heard this lovely song. Thank you for posting!

  • It's a beautiful song and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the visit. :-)

  • man this music is sooo deep

  • JD is my favorite singer for more than 30 years!

  • I love JD's music... I almost never seem to find anyone else that does... It's like people are unable to get past the 'granny glasses' and the 'clean cut' thing or something. But he was so much himself, unpretentious, and honest.... his failed love's and his despair and his care about the planet and its children. I think he is a master songwriter and a beautiful human being. I wish I could meet him

  • Everything you have written I believe it too! I feel at peace when I listen to JD's music and no matter how many other atrists I listen to, I NEED to go back and listen to JD for my soul xXx

  • what a complicated piece of music...the lyrics are great

  • THis is my favorite John Denver song. Simply beautiful

  • "STILL" Truly Amazing... miss you John.

  • Still the purest voice I've ever heard.

If I could have met one famous person I would have loved to meet John Denver.

    Perhaps in heaven.

He music moves me like no others.

  • Technically - his voice was "pitch perfect" - which is VERY rare in singers. Elvis, Sinatra were others - they were simply born with a voice that was ALWAYS pitch perfect - so they could sing all day long and never strain their voice - as it was also their talking voice - so there is no strain on their voice by singing!!!

  • @LisaGangi That's exactly what Sinatra said.

  • Another beautiful video, Catbrush! I am technologically challenged, but feel blessed to be able to watch others' beautiful work! Your videos say much about you. Thanks for sharing the joy!

  • Where'd you get the baby pic

  • wonderful compilation catbrush, thanks. This is one of my 2 most special favorite songs from his Sprit album, the other is Eli's song. There is a wonderful vid here on yt for that song too.

  • It's not often you come across a beautiful soul, but JD is one beautiful soul! Everytime I see or hear John sing fills me up! The only other person (maybe some others) I cry for is Princess Diana- another beautiful soul who cared about others! I don't know why wonderful people like these are taken away so early when they make such a big difference? The video is beautiful thank you catbrush123 xXx

  • im loving ur vids!

  • Thank you very much :-)

  • I am so enjoying reconnecting to the wonderful artist today. It is very interesting that his concern for the Earth and such, is very much on our minds now a days. He thought of saving our planet and tried to do something about it over 25 years ago. Perhaps we should rethink his ideas. That would be a wonderful way to add to his messages that he sang to us. Thanks for the video. It makes one think, "what if....)

  • Thank you for your wonderful comment. You have heard his msg too.

  • Awesome song. Thank you for posting it.

  • Glad you enjoyed it... Happy Easter.

  • I find myself everytime I look into John's music. I am never lost when i hear his songs. He brings me home.

  • ....I defy you to sing along to that...and NOT cry
