  • @GREGGORVICH12 If your looking for a shake, try milk, oats, and peanut butter in a blender. Some ice gives it a good texture too. I don't know your stats but lets assume your around 5'8 and 140lbs at 20 years old. I'd suggest anywhere from 4000-6000 calories a day. If your not gaining weight, your not eating enough, period.

  • To gain quality muscle you need quality food. Its easier to put on muscle if you don't mind gaining some fat too. All bodybuilders bulk in the off season, if you try to lean bulk your gains are going to be limited so i would not go that rout. Eat tons of pasta, potatoes, and rice for your bulk of carbs. For your micro nutrients eat lots of asparagus, broccoli, and other vegetables as well. fish and chicken are great sources of protein.

  • @grayandgray It takes 10x the amount of energy to convert protein to fat, and that's simplifying it alot. Given the opportunity your body is going to convert carbs, or store fat. Everyone just eat solid food, there is no shortcut to losing weight. If your going to supplement anything I'd suggest antioxidants for health purposes.

  • @grayandgray Everything physiology related is science :-) The limiting factor of whey protein absorption is the length of time viscous material (liquid) spends in our digestive track, which is 1.5 hours. Its the process of digestion that is limited. Out of the 15 grams of WP you can digest in 1.5 hours, some of that may be stored as fat. However unlikely if your body has had carbs or fat in the previous 18 hours.

  • Everyone, please listen to the scientists for protein absorption facts. Your small intestine can only absorb a certain amount of amino acids a day. Breaking it down further, we can only absorb 8-10g of whey protein an hour, period. I seem to be the only one citing sources...

  • @Senick the question seems to turn on whether some kind of "excess" of protein per serving, say 60g, gets wasted/excreted or turned to fat, or does the body just chug along on it for 6 hours? That seems to be the reason for this 30-40grams and meals every 3 hours, which could have no basis in science.

    Nitro peak is great, high quality protein amino acids, a lot of good stuff. Nitropeak has low carbs tho make sure to eat plenty or else it the protein wont even get absorbed

He said it's the best formula for high intense card workouts. It was way more expensive then the other blends at $69 CAD. Did I get scammed or is this product really worth it.

  • Whey protein is to be uses right after a hard workout when your body is starving for nutrients and protein since you most likely spent almost two hours braking your muscle down. People make the mistake of using whey as a meal replacement. A good meal replacement is Elite Fusion 7. Unlike whey it breaks down slowly in you body.

  • @ZoilaSolis your probably better off just eating your high protein foods and not supplements. so eating Tuna, steak, sardine and chicken are all high in protein. They will give you the protein you need instead of loading the body with unnecessary protein that will just add useless mass. :)

  • @THthefirst well its sort of an advantage, because when things are broken down it obviously takes more time, so therefore the body does not need to deal with as much carbs, fat and protein. its a bit like complicated carbohhydrates. this only references to toning tho, after weight training for example i will take protein straight away because my body literallly needs the protein. a, im not amzing at protein science. im only 16, someone correct me if im wrong but i think im right :)

  • doesnt matter how much protein is in the scoop as such, but how fast the protien peptides can be taken into your blood stream and bsorbed into the muscle, if you get a hydroxy di/tripeptide they dont need your body to break it down because they are already in a micro formula, you get pure whey it could take 2 or 3 hours longer to get to where you want it, and half will probably just get passed on as waste, if anyone wants my recomendation, i say BNRG proto whey

    So 35g/25g = 1.4 = 140% protein???

  • Very informative video. The bottom line is that if your eating 3-5 good meals a day there really is no need for you to take protein supplements. You can buy the most expensive protein in the store but if your not training RIGHT and not eating balanced meals then the supplements are only going to get you so far. If you only eat 1-2 meals a day than protein is going to help your body absorb whatever is missing from the meals you should be eating. 100% whey is good but shop around.there are better

  • Another fact that you should mention is that the human body can only digest and utilize 22 grams of protein at a time. Therefore, having a 100 gram protein shake is wasting 78 grams of protein that the body can use to rebuild muscle (the whole point of taking protein shakes and spending big bucks is using the added calories from protein specifically for rebuilding muscle tissue after excersise....not just wasting those calories for immediate energy that carbohydrates do. So don't waste money!

I think aside from these shakes that maybe smoe people do need cause they work out hardcore, you could just drink milk or chocolate milk even after a work out to help build your muscles. Its true, it works. Look it up. I started to do that after I work out and seems to be good. You should drink milk anyway.

  • Hemp protein is the answer. You can buy it at a number of places, uncluding a lot of regular old grocery stores. It's not made by these bodybuilding jock brands, it's just health food stuff. I mix nutiva hemp protein and syntha 6 after i work out and it tastes great.

  • The best way not to get scammed when you buy protein powder is to not buy any protein powder at all because no one can verify the ingredients. And many of them don't contain whats stated on the label. For hard core trainers cottage cheese is one of the best protein sources you can sink your teeth into. And it's easy to transport in a cooler for on the go action. Egg whites are slightly better but both are natures best source of amino acids that pack a powerful protein punch. Hope this helps.

  • Do not do shakes. Do not use protein shakes. Dollar for dollar protein shakes are a ripoff. Simply eating approx 8-10 oz of cottage cheese will pack the same punch protein-wise. You can easily transport 4 or 5 containers of cottage cheese to work or wherever no problem. Shake mixes are gimmicks & hype. A can of tuna will do the same. You'll see smart lifters & trainers loading their shopping cart in the dairy section of many a supermarket. Don't reward hustlers by giving them your money!

    Youre not giving the guy credit or looking at the BIG picture. He ate only fruit for 16 YEARS before evolving to that point. He went through the "anorexic" look and then used training as self therapy. Food, heavier foods add MASS to the body and nothing more. So its not so far out he could continue training and gradually lessening his food to nothing. It's called a steel mind.

Because that is not true and those people are lying. food is broken down into its smaller components and used to build new tissue and is stored as energy in the form of glycogen or fat primarily.   • yea but you people gotta realize that not everyone can keep that mass from high protein meals..people like us do eat very nutritious meals high in protein and still need a little extra protein from supplements.
