Music tastes are relative and from a technical standpoint MCR are bland, repetitive, generic and not-innovational, not to mention that they seem to focus more on image and "fanboyism" then any actual song writing.

They promote a false sense of depression and they stop the process of Natural Selection, where the week do not survive and society becomes stronger and more willing to thrive, this happens because people "rely" on the band to guide them and keep the weak alive. Mcr saved my life ... i was in troubble with my dad and i started drugs and i started cutting myself cause i found no other way .. i thaught my life was over and then i heard about them and gerard espetialy inspired me to be a better person... so now instead of douing drugs and other stuff... to get my anger, stress etc... out... i write songs ... i have 2 youtube accounts and i do about 1 show a week .. its fun ... i hope to become like them and help people the way they helped me

the positive impact? i just don't understand that... i wouldn't call just purely giving fans something to listen to a positive impact, their music isn't insipring, it's just poplular. They find a target audience and develop easy lyrics that sound good to a beat. I'm a metalhead (not death metal which sucks ass to me) but the complexity of the lyrics and notes/beats of the song are much more complex and difficult and many more rock/hard rock bands do a lot better job of creating original music.
Very inspirational and positive, I think. There are plenty more lyrics like that. Not to mention the things said between songs. Messages of hope, happiness, and pride in who you are. I call what they do a positive thing, and as you can see a lot of fans agree. They reach youth on a level that a lot of bands don't anymore, and we appreciate that very much.
Regardless of their aims people follow their culture and end up self-harming and in severe cases suidice. 'I am not afraid to keep on living'. Life shouldn't be about fear. Fear shouldn't come into the equation. That's suggesting life is something to be feared whereas it's something to be enjoyed. That's not uplifting to me.
If you don't think that life is scary then you are one of the lucky people who have never been in positions like a lot of us have. Life is scary when you are going through hell. Whatever your hell is, you should be brave and strong and keep going through it, right? That's what he's saying, and I find that very uplifting and influential.

Simple reason
Music tastes are relative and from a technical standpoint MCR are bland, repetitive, generic and not-innovational, not to mention that they seem to focus more on image and "fanboyism" then any actual song writing.
They are a fad like any other fad that achieved mainstream culture ever since teenagers stopped caring about doing proper research on musical history and cultural influences.

They promote a false sense of depression and they stop the process of Natural Selection, where the week do not survive and society becomes stronger and more willing to thrive, this happens because people "rely" on the band to guide them and keep the weak alive. I know it is a horrible thing, but that is the nature of animals humans and environments everywhere.

Mcr saved my life ... i was in troubble with my dad and i started drugs and i started cutting myself cause i found no other way .. i thaught my life was over and then i heard about them and gerard espetialy inspired me to be a better person... so now instead of douing drugs and other stuff... to get my anger, stress etc... out... i write songs ... i have 2 youtube accounts and i do about 1 show a week .. its fun ... i hope to become like them and help people the way they helped me

the positive impact? i just don't understand that... i wouldn't call just purely giving fans something to listen to a positive impact, their music isn't insipring, it's just poplular. They find a target audience and develop easy lyrics that sound good to a beat. I'm a metalhead (not death metal which sucks ass to me) but the complexity of the lyrics and notes/beats of the song are much more complex and difficult and many more rock/hard rock bands do a lot better job of creating original music.

Very inspirational and positive, I think. There are plenty more lyrics like that. Not to mention the things said between songs. Messages of hope, happiness, and pride in who you are. I call what they do a positive thing, and as you can see a lot of fans agree. They reach youth on a level that a lot of bands don't anymore, and we appreciate that very much.

If you think that's a normal highschool life, you're sorely mistaken. That's a normal life for a POPULAR kid who everyone loves because they're masculine, good looking, or anything else materialistic. A normal kid's perspective, HA. Maybe this music wasn't for the "normal kids" maybe it was for the outcasts in highschool.

And yet in my high school everybody has at least some friends, i wonder why. oh wait... I live in PA where we get over ourselves... i mean, just last week one of the biggest geeks died and EVERYONE was depressed as all hell, so don't act like all high schools are the same, and i'm sorry but, i was depressed... listened to their music and, well, didn't help, and to everyone else... um, do i have a fuckin' obligation to like them? no... so how dare you bitch at people who disagree with you.

Right im going to tell the truth.
There was a time when everyone loved Mcr - there were no haters.
Until the little "emo" wannabees came in with their black choppy hair and glasses, obsessing about how gerard way is so hot.
Mcr became mainstream to teenagers, you're right. Their lyrics were made for dark haired emos who struggle with their lives. The real fans disappeared as these 14 year old girls came in by the thousands all suddenly "loving mcr" and "how emo" they were. The band lost it.

MCR are fine, it's the softheads that think their music is some kind of gospel that I hate. If you are just a fan of the music, I don't have an opinion, but when you start saying they "saved your life", now that is ridiculous. Gangsta rap didn't make me bust some mofos in da ass wit ma gat, and Cannibal Corpse didn't make me rip out a woman's insides through her vagina. Although, techno music did make me destroy a stereo. Hope that helps.... =P
